I upgraded two Series 5 speakers, that were both suitable for Sonos App 2.0. Thinking I now have 4 speakers that can all work on the new operating system. However, the two older series 5 speakers cannot be added to the same network anymore? Tried factory resets (after which they are visible to the app, but warning appears: 'they may not show up in your system, just unplug and plug back in', but never actually show up in my system. Sonos upgrade program states you can continue to use the upgraded speakers, but can they be used in the same network as the new speakers? I have not be able to add them to the system… What am I doing wrong?
My Sonos is working perfectly with other speakers, but one speaker is not working. It is plugged in and shows when pressing the on off button flashes red. In the system itself it shows I have all speakers working and also it shows music sound is going to that speak.
Please help me restore sanity and a working system oh wise ones!I’ve been using this set up for 3 years and @ratty and @John B double checked my thinking, and set up, which was correct and not complicated.Draytek 2760n router, Google hub, Sonos bridge into hub and various S1 speakers dotted about. It’s worked like a dream until now.All that’s changed is I’ve switched to VM and have a Hub 4 in modem mode, into the Draytek and Google hub / bridge connected as before. I did have to disconnect everything but it’s all gone back exactly as was. The Google hub says the bridge is wired, but the Sonos app keeps dropping, and when it does connect it seems to be on WiFi as the ability to change channels is greyed out, indicating SonosNet isn’t in operation. If I cycle the bridge power it seems to reconnect but only temporarily.I don’t know what I’ve done but I’ve broken it somehow and don’t know how to fix it. It’s been a struggle to get the Draytek and VM hub to talk but that’s sorted (albeit
My system has stopped connecting to AirPlay. It worked perfectly for years but then stopped sometime around the end of 2021. I’ve tried various resets and other methods mentioned in this forum but nothing has helped. I can see my Sonos products listed in the airplay options. I’d appreciate any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to correct it.My system:2 Play 5s (airplay compatable) 2 Play 3s (not airplay compatable but grouped with the 5s) One Play 5 is wired to the network, the rest are on wifi I’ve already tried:Rebooting router after waiting 30 seconds Reconfiguring network settings via sonos app Rebooting Sonos products Ensured Sonos products are showing up correctly in the home app
HelloI've set up my two play:5 gen2 in a stereo pair with line-in to my TV. I've had this setup for several years without issues. I later added a sub for niceness. Since I moved into my new two-story house I've experienced drop outs from the speaker that does not have the line-in cable (Left), at an increasing rate. It's now at the point where the left speaker is more off than on.At one point in time I lost connection to both speakers and wired the speaker with the line-in cable (Right), which got the connection back, but the drop outs kept appearing. In the network matrix I notice that the Right speaker does not contain the left one, but the left one does include the right. I have two more speakers, but I've disconnected these when I tried to identify if they caused an issue. It didn't change anything to power off all other speakers than the stereo group. I'm my network at home is set up by my isp with two mesh "boxes". One on each floor. I've had to wire my speaker to the top one, even

Holding the mute buttom down while plugging inn the power and many other things but no response from the device. The warranty was gon too so i decided to open it up and see if i could see any visible damage to any of the boards but nothing. After I updated my Sonos Play 5 at Xmas the sound quality has significantly deteriorated, in particular the vocals are suppressed. This seems to be a common issue. Can anybody advise me how to resolve this please
I have 4 speakers in separate rooms. All four show that they are playing, but there is no sound. The speakers are all checked as playing and volume is on/turned up, no sound. No sound bars or extra added units. They are all play 1 speakers.
Could some from Sonos Support please tell what the solution was to the problem mentioned here? I have exactly the same problem and the only solution is to pull the plug on the Sonos 5 and restart it. There has to be a better way.
I live in rented accomodation with housemates. I recently purchased a Sonos Roam and tried to set it up before realising that one of my housemates has their own system on the wifi already, which blocks me from setting up my own system. He is currently away so I can’t access his speaker. I don’t want my housemate to have to share their account details with me for obvious reasons, so is there another solution here? How have other people living with housemates dealt with this?
Good Afternoon,I have a fairly good turntable going into a Sonos Five which is paired with another for stereo. Mounted on the wall above each five is a Sonos One, again is stereo. When I listen to the turntable I run it through all 4 speakers so I have a Five & One for the left channel and exactly the same positioning for the right.I recently ‘tuned’ the stereo fives as per the recommendation of the App and now I have lost all my bottom end. I have done this a few times with the same result. If I temporarily turn off the tuning in the app my bass response comes back in, and yet drops when I flick it back.Just wondering if anyone has any experience, ideas or thoughts that may guide me. I have considered a sub on the floor in the middle so I can position myself in the room to get the best I can out of the stereo fives, ones and a sub - again - if anyone has any thoughts on my comments I would value it.Thanks everyone - Robin
Hey all,for a couple of weeks now I am having intermittent issues with my Sonos system (two Play:1s in stereo).Problem:The connection to my Sonos system on the Sonos app (S2) itself is working fine on all my devices. From within Spotify I cannot connect to my Sonos system. When trying to play a TuneIn radio station I get the message: unable to play radio station. When trying to play something from within the Sonos app through Spotify I get a 1002 error code. When trying to update my sonos system I get a 1101 error code. I am not able to submit diagnostic information to Sonos. What I tried so far:The issues are intermittent so sometimes the problem suddenly disappears for no apparent reason and I can use my system again, without understanding what changed. Unplugging both my Sonos speakers from their power, waiting >10 seconds and plugging it back in does not solve the problem. Unplugging my modem/router from power, waiting >10 seconds and plugging it back in does not solve the pro
I have a system with two Sonos Play:1 units and one Sonos Connect:Amp.Today i cannot play any music services on one of the play:1 units, but it works on the other units,I used to have a sonos playbar installed too, but it was disconnected a month ago, and I would not think that this has anything to do with this issue because it worked until today.I have made a power cycle on all three units and it makes no difference.I can access the play unit from a web browse and have taken a screen copy of the matrix on the unit with problems (badeværelse) and from one of the other units, so why will it no longer stream anything on this single unit ?
Hi there, My Sonos play 5 gen 1 is making a strange clicking noise after a while the power cord is plugged in. I already opened it up and changed the caps in line which I marked on the picture. I also changed the MOSFET m054 which was blown. Unfortunately the clicking sound came back after a while.I would really appreciate any help from this forum.
I only own play 5 gen 1 speakers but now I can’t use them on the S1 app as it keeps asking for S2 to be downloaded and you can’t skip past it. Does this mean that all my speakers are now scrap? If this is the case this is the last I buy any of yourequipment it you treat customers this way. I have red all the articles about a split system but if you can’t close the update screen it’s pointless just like my £1000’s worth of equipment I now have.
While the Sonos 5 device does show up as an available device, I always get the message “Could not connect to [Sonos Device Name]” when I attempt to use AirPlay to stream audio from my iMac (both via System Preferences and the Music app). Strangely, my iPad and iPhone do not seem to have the problem when connected on the same WiFi network.I run Monterey (latest version) on my iMac and, yes, already did the following:reset the Sonos speaker rebooted the router (TP-Link AX6000) restarted the computer (multiple times)I want to add additional Sonos speakers, but this is a little bit a showstopper. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi Sonos, I’ve been in the tech world for the last 3 decades and have always been up to speed with most of the recent technologies (just to point out I’m no newby to networks & technology, so I don’t get these reboot this or that)What has happened with my Sonos speakers over the last couple of months is getting ridiculous.I never had any issues when I used the S1 app and my 2 Play1’s and 1 Play3.After upgrading to the S2 app and upgrading the speakers in the beginning everything was fine, but now since a couple of months I keep loosing my devices… (always the same 2).I’ve browsed through every solution on this forum, but the same result over and over again.I’ve reset the router, speakers, unplugged, reinstalled via an ethernet cable, updated the Wifi settings via the remaining speaker… but once I plug it out of the ethernet cable the speakers goes away (even set next to the wifi6 (set up in bridge mode)).I can reset the router, unplug the speaker, but it does not reappear. It’s come
Dear all,My Play5 gen 1 (2015) has NEVER been reliable. As a result, i just stood there for the past years, using it maybe a couple of times per year.As I would like to use this otherwise nice piece of equipment (the hardware is ok), I wanted to reconnect it to my wifi and start using it more. Sadly, the white LED keeps blinking and no other actions seem to be possible. I cannot connect to it, I cannot reset it, … nothing! Please tell me if there is a way out of this. Is this a bricked device? Can I do a reset somehow?Sad that a company with a big name is not able to make this Play5 more stable. Cheers,Tijs
Hello. The turntable is connected to the paired Five. Depending on the song, there will be no sound from one of the speakers. Is there any way to improve it?
Hi,I’m trying to setup my Play5 (2ndG) after a while not using it - it worked fine the last time I used it but I have reset my wifi password etc since so I decided to start from scratch. Factory reset the Play 5 Latest version of IOS on my iPad Reset the Sonos App (v2)My attempt goes as followsThe Play 5 is flashing green Open the Sonos App, accept License conditions etc. Login the Sonos The app immediately finds the Play 5, I click ‘Add’ “Getting Play 5 ready”... Goto Accessories setup to connect “Preparing” “Gathering info about your network” Shows my the network and the accessory name “Sonos Play 5” so I hit next “Setting up accessory to join NETWORK”… “Waiting for Sonos Play 5 Black”… (Still flashing green) “An unexpected error occurred try again”Trying again results in exactly the same and this all happens in exactly the same way when using my iPhone instead of the iPad.Any ideas?Cheers
I have a first generation Play:5 that won’t power on. Sonos won’t replace it aside from offering a discount on a new product. Yet, this device was so expensive, and I’d rather not send it to the dump either way, so I decided to try a repair.I’ve read that Sonos will send replacement parts, but they have turned me down in this case :( does anyone know of anywhere I can buy a compatible replacement power board?(ideally someplace inexpensive or with a return policy, in case that doesn’t solve my issue) thanks!
Can't get my sonos 5 gen 1 to be recognised on the same network as my sonos amp. Tried wireless tried LAN tried using the sonos bridge.Any advice?
HiI have problems connecting a rega plus1 turntable with build-in amp to my five speakers that’s in stereo modeI am using a standard RCA to ⅛” (3.5mm).In the Sonos-app the line-in source says it is playing, but no sound other the scratchy noice when volume is on 100% I have tried to change the source level on the five. I have tried to separate the five speakers so no longer in stereo and I have tried to curse at the system - nothing helps It should be so easy so what am I doing wrong?
Diagnostic #: 1197458452I have 3 Play:1’s & 1 Play:5(2) grouped together. A couple of the Play:1’s have been having continual problems with cutting out, while the other’s in the group continue to play. It’s like they’re shorting out or something. I just recently switched to a wired set-up with my Play:5 connected directly to my Google Mesh Hub, as I thought the wireless setup was what was causing the issues. Since making that switch, it’s almost worse. The Play:1 in my office has cut out at least 4 times in the last hour, coming back on randomly, but not for long. The Play:1 that’s not playing still shows as if it is and still grouped in the controller.I’ve LOVED my Sonos system for many years, but these recent constant issues are driving me CRAZY!!Please help. Thanks,April
