Hi! Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue, which has only just cropped up for me.By way of background, we have a total of 14 x Sonos speakers in our home, which for the past 18+ months have been running just fine. They are a mix of Gen 1 and Gen 2, and include 1 x Sub-Mini and 1 x Sub (Gen 3).Connection is via 3 x hardwired Ubiquiti U6-Mesh access points running off a UDM Pro / 24 port Switch Pro. Speakers are all on the 2.4GHz network, locked to their nearest access point. The broadcast channels are auto-optimised nightly by the network to avoid interference, and all speakers have excellent signal strength. Speakers are paired in most rooms, except two rooms which have a single Sonos One. We mostly stream music wirelessly from our iPhones / iPads, using Airplay, and everything has been working without a hitch … until within the last week or so. I note that very recently there has been both a Sonos system update, plus at least one iOS update. The Problem ...Suddenly
I’ve got 2 Sonos Play 1’s (early models) and have recently added a Roam. I’ve also changed my wifi recently. My Play 1s used to be pretty stable but now the whole system keeps losing connection. Have tried changing wifi channels and that dIdn’t really help. Is a Boost/Bridge likely to resolve this? TIA
I’ve changed my router and my Sonos One speaker won’t connect to the new network. My Play 1 speakers and Amp have all connected fine. I had a similar issue previously and was advised to turn off my old routers 5ghz channel and that allowed the Sonos One speaker to connect. My new Eero mesh system only allows turning off the 5ghz channel for 10 minutes, not permanently. I’ve tried this and the speaker still won’t connect when the 5ghz channel is temporarily disabled. The speaker is location and the power supply means I can’t plug it into the router with Ethernet. Can any one help please?
Hi allAfter the latest App update 15.1.1 and problems with the boost continually updating, I turned off automatic updates, however, it’s now telling me there’s another update - what’s this for and should I do it ? Many Thanks Andy
Can I connect my output from a sky mini to a Sonos move (or Sonos one). the sky box has optical out - can this connect to the Sonos move USB C port ?
Sonos system: Beam x1, One x1, Play 1x1. Previously working well on standard WiFi. Have ‘upgraded’ wifi with TP-link Deco M5 mesh system. This system is now running 2.4GHz only, in “Access Mode’ and security to WPA/WPA2. Have tried to link both Boom and One numerous times. Manage to get as far as linking to temporary Sonos Network then get a final message “Your mobile device couldn’t connect to your Beam (or Sonos One). Move closer and make sure its powered on.”I’m right next to the speakers and (of course) it’s turned on.Speakers connect fine when connected by ethernet. Any help please?
Hi, since changing my internet service provider my sonos 2 app has been behaving very strangely.I have pretty much tried everything to get it working (going through all the processes) and still failing. some times it would show one room, sometimes another, sometimes (like now) it would fail to load altogether.where I am at now, is the windows desktop controller is absolutely fine and the app is failing to load completely. Weirdly, my wife’s app randomly worked fine yesterday for the first time in weeks and now won’t load today at all.
Hi - anyone else with the Sonos app update 15.1.1 find the app no longer connects to their Sonos products?
I’ve had 2 of the Roam speakers for a while now and I’m really disappointed in the way they interact with the Sonos App. They were working in their initial configuration - as a stereo pair to drag around and use with bluetooth/airplay - for some months, and then I split my Sonos system between two houses.Nothing worked in the new house until I factory reset all devices, including the 2 Roam speakers.Everything else worked in the new house (Play:1 stereo pair, Beam, Connect amp with old speakers and a RCA input) but the Roams never quite worked right. When setting them up initially, both speakers said they might not show up in the app until being power cycled.I set them up separately, one first all the way through the process of setting it up, following the prompt to power cycle it so it would show up in the app, until it showed in the app in a Room, changed the Room name to Portable, then started the other. The second Roam went through the process until power cycling, then when it came
HI, I currently have the Arc, sub and 2 Ones in my living room, I'm wondering if I can create another room ‘living room 2’ that uses the ones and the sub only?
I have a Sonos surround system - Playbar, Sub and two Play:1 as rears.I was considering swapping a Play:1 for a One (Gen 2) to get Alexa functionality. I have done several searches and have only found the answer to one of my two my concerns.I understand that I would not be able to use AirPlay2 with it spliced into the surround system, which is acceptable. What I can not find stated is whether Alexa would work and control the grouped speakers. With e.g. the iPlayer skill, I’d want to say “Computer, Radio 4” or other skills, “Computer, Planet Rock” or Apple Music... and so on.If anyone can reassure me on that functionality, I’d be grateful.Thanks.
My ARC is grouped with other Sonos speakers for music. When I turn the TV on, the ARC disconnects from the group and I have to open the Sonos app to add the ARC back to the group and adjust the ARC volume when I turn the TV off. At one time, the ARC remained on the group at the set volume for music after I turned the TV off. Sonos support informed me that the wireless channel on my router needs to be changed from channel 11 to channel 1 or 6. I called Spectrum who advised me the channel cannot be changed on the router.
I have 2 alexa echo in my kitchen, one using line out to the Sonos. When playing on the ‘group’ with both speakers the Sonos is half a second behind. Is there any way to fix this?
which is better sound for rear speakers with an arc and mini sub. Pair of ones or the in ceiling architectural speakers. Pair ones certainly less expensive, however would pay the extra for streamlined look as long as sound quality better then ones. Thanks for any suggestions.
hi guys, does any one putting sonos speaker in kitchen? will it get oily on the surface of the speaker over the time? thanks a lot shan
Hi,I am hoping you guys can help me solve this conundrum. Situation - I have 6 ceiling speakers (Not Sonos) in my lounge powered by a Sonos Amp. All these speakers are hard wired back to my comms unit which sits in my garage. This comms unit also houses the Sonos Amp. Currently I can play all my music/YouTube on these speakers. I also have a TV (LG OLED) in my lounge which is not currently connected to these ceiling speakers and hence the sound output is not great. It’s a large lounge and open space with vaulted ceiling. The TV does have an Ethernet connection powered by a switch which again sits in the same comms cabinet. I would like to achieve the following - Connect the TV to the existing ceiling speakers. If that is not possible, buy a sound bar for the TV however make the sound bar part of the existing ceiling speaker system if possible. What would you recommend as an option for me? RegardsManny
I just received two One SL as a replacement for Play One. They have been added to my system. Does this auto register my products to Sonos or do I have to register serial numbers myself. How can I see what products are registered? I have Beam, Sub and (2) One SL
Hi, I would like to have a clarification concerning the following and undocumented point. Are Sonos devices, including the very new Era, able to switch off the wifi when in standby mode ? I am asking this because I would like to use it in my bedroom, very close to my head and use the alarm function. When sleeping, I don’t feel very confident knowing that I have a wifi source always activated during all the night.Best regardssl91
Hi together,I’ve had this issue now for some weeks when the Sonos players denied to playback music.I tried many troubleshooting from the support websites with no results. After talking to the german hotline support for 3 hours with 3 guys, we found out via the http://<IP>:1400/tools page, that the players cannot resolve any addresses. So I guess it’s some DNS Issues here.Unfortunately the support couldn’t help with this issue as my router-config looks good.We tried using googles DNS in my router settings and also cloudflare dns won’t help. I also have reset the router and the speakers several times. A factory reset for the Play:1 didnt help either as I cannot add it to the Sonos Controller App anymore because it cannot contact the update.sonos.com server. Further Info: All my speakers are first generation (Playbar, 2x Play:3, Play:1) They are connected via WiFi currently, but I also tried an ethernetcable connection. Any suggestions from your side? Thanks & Kind Regards
In the past when I have attached a line-in from an audio interface or iOS device out to a Sonos Play (10 years ago) I experienced a great deal of latency, more than I could tolerate for ‘live’ play. The speaker didn’t behave like a normal speaker in that way as if the guts of the device was adding latency due to timing algorithm - not sure how but the latency was so bad I could only use it for listening alone. I would consider buying the new speaker if the latency issue went away. Obviously, this is a consumer device but having the speaker have a dual purpose would help me decide to buy it. joe
Hi,Using two fives and two one’s, a beam and a receiver, when I click the volume button up or down on the side of my iphone 14 (IOS16.3) or move the slider up or down in the Sonos app, the volume is quickly interrupted by the Sonos speaker or Samsung TV saying, “receiver”. Two clicks on volume result in the volume being interrupted by the Sonos system (or Samsung) saying, “receiver”. I have had Sonos for years and have never heard this. How and where do I disable this? Wildly annoying.
Hi, I think to make own corner to play my vinyl collection. I am a DJ, so I play from two turntables and they are connected to mixer which is connected to SONOS amp or Port which I already have as well. I think to buy 2 x ERA 300 and install on the wall behind my back on the black wall ( in the future if needed add SUB mini or SUB for better feelings ). Do You think is it a good idea? Does each era300 need a separate power supply from the socket? I see as an accessory, mounting wall - does it hide power socket ? DO You have any ellegant way to make this installation ?
Sonos One vs. AirPlay. 😡Can't play from my iPhone/Music App throught Airplay on our 1 Sonos One - the other 2 we have, works without problems.Tried doing a reset, and it works, RIGHT until I play something from the Sonos app on my iPhone, then it won't work again! Everything is updated, the iPhone, Apps and the Sonos speakers….. What to do??“cannot connect to Køkken” ⤵️
I pre ordered my 2 Era 300’s on the March 10th directly from Sonos and now discover they are being advertised in the UK with a £45.00 discount. Seems a little unfair to be charged full price and not have even received the speakers yet. I have messaged Sonos to ask the discount. Anyone else paid the full amount and got back the discount?
