I don’t see this much so posting for those interested. The spare bedroom in my flat has no common walls to those on my floor and a concrete floor so in addition to use as a study I have set it up as a music room. I took the One in my bedroom and added a One Sl to it for a stereo pair. That was Ok but I am use to the Playbase that I have had for quite some time and it was a bit lacking in comparison. I bit the bullet and added the sub-mini and for a compact stereo setup it’s great. I played Dark side of the moon first up and as the volume of the heart beat effect in the opening track rose it was quite obvious it made a huge difference. The next thing I noticed was the improvement in vocals. They don’t mind a bit of effect on the vocals and that became clearer with the addition of the sub-mini. Next I played Station to station by Bowie. The base on several tracks benefit greatly from the addition of the sub, particularly Stay. Once again it also was clear there was an overall improvement
I have to play music in a church for a funeral and do not want to rely on bluetooth connectivity so am hoping i can plug my phone into an ERA 100
Hi,With my Sonos Era 100, I have a problem with no sound on certain sound levels when using different max sound limits. I am using the Sonos app on Android for this. But I see the same behavior on the Windows Sonos app.No problem with 100% max sound level: - Sound level 0 gives no sound (OK)- Sound levels 1-100 gives sound (OK)Problems with 50% max sound level:- Sound level 0 gives no sound (OK)- Sound level 1 gives no sound (Not OK)- Sound levels 2-100 gives sound (OK)Problems with 10% max sound level:- Sound level 0 gives no sound (OK)- Sound level 1-9 gives no sound (Not OK)- Sound levels 10-100 gives sound (OK)There seems to be a pattern depending on the max volume limit I set. Like it cuts off x amount of lower sound levels related to max volume level I set.I expect to also hear sound on sound level 1 with 50% max volume.Anything I can do about this? Or is this a hardware/software problem?Regards, Tim
I’m looking for a Play:5 Gen 1 and have noticed that there are three variants in the UK secondhand market:Backplate with Chinese characters (Play:5 in small letters) - about 60% of units on sale Backplate with Wireless System Zone Player - about 25% of units on sale Backplate with Play:5 in large letters, no Chinese characters - about 15% of units on saleAnyone know what the differences (if any) are? Clearly the Zone Player speakers were the first production run but I can’t understand why most of the speakers in the UK are Chinese character versions..?And does the same thing occur in other countries?ThanksNick
I can’t get my play 5 to reconnect to my system. I hooked it to Ethernet to try to reconnect after wireless setup failures. All other parts of my system work fine.
Hi, my living room is an open space. I’m looking for rear speakers to complement my Arc but can’t run power cable on the floor/under the floor so it seems the only option is to mount rear speakers higher on the beam of the 1st floor at 10 ft (3 m).question:is it worth it having speakers that high or I should just be stay be satisfied with the Arc? Should I go with Era 100s or 300sthanks in advance.
Just got an era 300 heard great things about it but the quality of sound isn’t what I expected. When you turn a nasty radio up to loud it gets those staticky sounds well I’m getting these sounds on my era 300 on certain songs through the sonos app without it being turned all the way up even halfway. It’s even worse if I’m not in the app just playing Bluetooth with Apple Music. I’m wondering if it’s just how it sounds or if there is a fix to this staticky sound. I play these songs in my truck radio, headphones, etc and don’t get these sounds and this speaker is making them.
How can I use wireless microphones on my sono been 2 generation?

Hi all I wonder if possible to connect my Sonos (one) speaker to my tv?can someone help please. Thanks
Your tech support told me I was out of luck. That I could not use the Sub mini with my current system of 6 speakers. All Gen 1 except for a Beam. It was suggested that I return it to the store. Talk about a technical and marketing train wreck. In any case, I managed to put on my nerd hat and figured it out thanks to others on Google. A lot of unplugging and DHCP reservations. Now I’m running S1 in conjunction with S2. It’s not too pretty but it all works. I get that progress is inevitable but so is backward compatibility. A flash upgrade perhaps? Whatever it is, please consider updating the Mini to work with the S1. Thanks.
Hello We moved homes and set up our Sonos system (Play 3 x 2 and Arc). When I first access the system using the mobile app, there isn’t much of a delay in responsiveness - I press play and it plays within a second or so. when I switch from the Sonos app on my iPhone/iPad to another app for a bit and then switch back to the Sonos app, there is a 8-10 second delay where the “searching” icon spins and it says “unable to connect to sonos product.” Eventually if I wait long enough, it connects and is reasonably responsive again. We have the Eero POE 6 system and have tried using a boost and hardwiring the Sonos to one of the Eero devices. Neither has helped. I spent hours on the phone with Sonos and eventually talked to a level 3 support person who essentially said this is the fault of the mobile (apple) OS. I explained that no other app acts this way. In fact the Spotify app will connect to the Sonos system and doesn’t have this issue. It really seems to be an issue with the Sonos mobile a
Can I connect a hi-fi separate CD player to my era 100 via a phono cable and Sonos adapter. I currently connect a turntable this way and I’d like to use a switchable box to connect a CD player and possibly a minidisc player from my old separates system. I’m wondering if they will need a preamp? My turntable has one built in. Any thoughts?
Any benefit from having the iPhone with a direct connection via a audio quest dragonfly DAC to the ERA 300
How can I connect my stereoset era300 to tv and get dolby atmos sound or something else dolby sound? Bluetooth works nice with music but not tv sound. If I buy usb-c adapter, is that working for me?
Not the first one to bring this up, but I figured I should voice it and add one more reasoning to it:1. Sometimes I just want to listen to some ambience music in the living room and don't need the fully-fledged surround system to kick in. 2. Having all speakers on st all times = higher electricity consumption 3. For casual TV watching the surround is overkill 4. One should at least be able to turn off the surrounds without having to see the green blinking lights at all times
Because Sonos was giving a lot of “An error occured” when giving basic commands I decided to re-add google assistant to Sonos. But this is giving me a lot of trouble. In Google Home I see that Sonos is still linked to sonos. In Sonos it isn’t connected. When trying to add google assistant in the sonos App I’m stuck at “No devices found” in the google home application.I also tried unlinking the sonos app in Google home, but this also seems quite buggy as it sometimes adds itself automatically after refreshing the google home app? What else can I try to make it work?
Quick vent- deeply regret purchasing Sonos products. Vent overI have a cd player connected to my Sonos Five. Sometimes playing a cd will work fine with my Sonos five. Other times, I have to select the play line-in option, and it works. Recently, I will play a cd, no audio from the five, followed by selecting line in on the app and still no audio. The strange thing is, if I wait a while (more than thirty minutes), everything then works fine. Things I have confirmed- everything is plugged in and all cables are connected. I have also confirmed the line-in is connected on the app. I have also confirmed the source level is on level 2 (after having tried other settings, as well). I have autoplay turned on. fThis problem occurs with both my turn table and cd player. Streaming works fine.
Hi there, I am trying to connect my Sonos Five to my Yamaha RX–V4A amplifier as an additional speaker located in a different room. Does anyone know whether I can do this without using a cable? So I would like to play a track with the identical sound in two separate rooms. My iPad is connected to my Yamaha unit through the Spotify connect option. I therefore want to use the Sonos Five as an additional speaker in a separate room. Hope that makes sense. Thank you in advance! JG
Hi - I am sure this query has been seen many a time but I cannot find an answer unfortunately, so I hope someone can help. I am trying to connect my Sonos 1 to my new router. It is a BT router and is exactly the same model as the one it has replaced (smart hub 1). The Sonos can be found by my phone, connects to my phone, it prompts me to update it to the new Wi-Fi, I put in the router password ….. but the Sonos will not connect. I get the Quick Help page but as far as I can see none of it applies. I’ve tried 5 times now. I’ve not done a hard reset etc. I can do this as only have the one Sonos but wondered if the community had any pointers please. Thank you.
Hi guys,I’ve had One SL speakers for a while and working perfectly all the time.Few days back I bought a new router - TP-Link Archer Air R5 AX3000. I had to change the network - I kept the same name but the password is different. Since the installation the speakers keep dropping from the network - one moment they are visible in the Sonos App and they play anything from Spotify, next minute they stop and are no longer visible in the app. I am not able to add them back to the system anymore. When I get back in some time (does not matter how long), they are back in the app and they play just like before. And then everything repeats. The speakers are visible and connected in the router app - I can see them there all the time even when they are no longer visible in the Sonos system. So far I have tried:restarting router restarting speakers resetting speakers to the factory settings adding speakers again to the system wiring one speaker to the router and connecting the other one wirelessly re
Long time Sonos user. I have a one-bedroom apartment with a Playbar, Sonos One (gen 1), Play:3 and Roam. A nice ASUS new’ish router. Great wifi and internet. For a while now, anytime I include the Play:3 in the group (or only play to the Play:3), the system lags a lot. Examples:When I re-open a controller after a few minutes of not using it, it takes 30-60 seconds to show what’s playing. Whenever I hit pause/next or anything else, it takes a few seconds to do it, and 50% of the time throws an error message. For about 25% of the songs, the first ~20 seconds show a playing but no sound comes out.On the contrary, whenever I do NOT include the Play:3, everything works beautifully and is super snappy. Do you think my Play:3 has just reached the end of its useful life? Or is there something else I can do to troubleshoot? I’ve tried calling Sonos support multiple times but didn’t make any progress on it.
Hi,We have a turntable connected to a Five and noticed that we only get the left channel and no right channel. Using Spotify is fine and is complete stereo but Line-in just doesn't. I followed the signal, troubleshooting with different cables and the turntable works fine, cables are fine. I tried connecting my phone aux to it and got the same results. Even sending the signal via the Five to a stereo pair Sonos:1s has the same result: no right channel.Hopefully someone can help me with this.
