Hi ThereNew owner of 2x Era 300’s, Arc & Gen 3 Sub.Looking for advice on the positioning of the Era 300’s. As you can see from the photo I’ve temporarily positioned them on small stands so they are behind my listening position. However this is restricting the downward firing speakers and I need to consider long term solution. The bookcase is a hindrance although I could look to move this to the other side of the room and consider wall mounting but that would mean speakers aren’t positioned behind me but to the side.Any advice/suggestions on location, mounting options etc welcome.ThanksJeremy
I purchased a Move a few months ago. I have 2 Play 3s, a Play 1, 2 Play 5s and a soundbar that I love but am unable to use with the new app ‘upgrade’. When will the compatibility issues be solved?
I have 3 Sonos One’s and a Sonos Move that I use regularly. Today, I had to move one of my Sonos One speakers which involved unplugging it. Since that time, they have been out of sync. That is, the controller on iOS vs MacOS are playing different speakers. Even after a time, they have not sync’d up and it’s very frustrating (and disappointing).I restarted each Sonos application, that has had no impact, and the Sonos application and firmware is up to date on all. I power cycled my iOS device (iPhone 15 Pro), no effect. When I did this, I played my music from iOS, but even restarting the MacOS app shows that nothing is playing. My network is very, very simple. There’s one /24 LAN, the WIFI router is literally just 10 feet away. This feels like a software bug I’m hitting -- as I would expect the speakers to sync back, however the proprietary Sonos protocol operates.Anyone know what the problem is?
I currently have a Beam and two One SL speakers for my family room. I just purchased Era 100 speakers. I know Sonos has a limitation for only two surround speakers. I can group two rooms to include all of the speakers, but then the remote can’t control the volume. (Using the Sonos app isn’t practical) My question is if I can use Apple TV to stream and control the volume? I’ve seen some threads on this but it didn’t include my specific scenario. Thanks!
Hello,I have Sonos Ray connected to the TV by Optical Line and IKEA Symfonisk Picture Speaker in another part of the room. Symfonisk is grouped with Ray as another room. When I turn on the sound on TV, Ray is playing. Then I want to stream this audio to Symfonisk, so I opening a Sonos App, and checkbox the Symfonisk in playing now tab. And nothing happening, despite Sonos App is showing playing animation next to Symfonisk name. If I want to fix it, I have to go to network tab and manually connect SYMFONISK to router once again. When it finish connecting to router it automatically start playing. And I have to do this almost every time. AirPlay is working fine and it streaming to both speakers every time without problems, so i assuming Symfonisk is connected to the router all the time. Thanks for help. Zuberator
One speaker stopped working and cannot retrieve despite following instructions
Looks like the Sonos One and One SL are not available on the Sonos.com UK shop. Wondering if this is a sign they are about to be discontinued, or just sold out after Christmas?i’m considering adding another One to make a stereo pair with an older Play 1, which might not be such a good idea if they are going to be discontinued soon…
so i added an addiotion speaker to my TV set up, as a group as you cnan have trhee surround spreakers, That taditional speaker was showing as part of te group and working fine, but the audio dropped. So i chatted with support and they advised a need to power off and on . i did that and now its gone from the group and the app says you need three rooms now. A ploy to sell more spreakers or reduce past functionality. tey did this with the removal of the ability to play from your tablet memory, so I bought a NAS, theyen the app for the Nas was withdrawn and not this. Someone in Sonos knows how to annoy its customers, Should I have gone with BOSE!! Any one else had this or has a work around. The group funtion is unavailable on the app so i can reinstate. I can t see a news release on the system upgrade”
My sonos is skipping to next song in the middle of a song. I sit and enjoy music and suddenly it just starting the next song i use sonos and Spotify any idea what could be causing this?
I need to reset 2 of my Play1 units. These are 'seen' in my Sonos 2app.I have factory reset the units but when the app tries to rewind to S1 it states it cannot find them see pic.I have tried physically connecting via a ethernet cable still with no success
My Sonos 1 app is saying 5 of my 7 Sonos products are incompatible. When I go through the menus and select continue using S1 nothing happens and they are still incompatible. Having spent significant money on older sonos product I can’t afford to change them to s2 products and am perfectly happy to continue with s1 but it doesn’t work now
Hi everyone, So I have a soundbar with Sub and surrounds in my living room and multiple different Sonos speakers of different generations throughout the rest of my house. For some reason the living room audio cuts in and out randomly when I’m trying to play music throughout the whole home (it never does it when I’m watching TV and it’s just in the living room). I have a mesh NetGear router and 2 extenders and the whole house is wired with cat6. Recently, I tried to change the configuration of my Living Room by connecting via ethernet but when I then tried to connect the other speakers throughout the house the Sonos app gave me an error, saying It wasn’t possible because of the extenders, which is odd as it’s all one and the same network if you know what I mean. Any thoughts on how to fix this ? guy
Hi Folks, I recently upgraded my WiFi to fibre broadband and since then I cannot connect to my Sonos 1.This is via my smart phone. I've followed the steps via the app to update my WiFi details but when it gets to the enter the WiFi code it says there is a problem and its not recognising the password. Can anyone kindly suggest a fix to this issue ? Kind Regards Neil
I have a Sonos USB-C adapter for line in audio sources but when I plug it in only the “Line-In (L)” component connects. The “Line-In (R)” component never does. This happens after trying a number of different RCA leads with a number of different sources. The audio still comes through both speakers but presumably in monaural and the right speaker constantly drops out.I’ve tried rebooting the system, rebooting the app etc.Is my Sonos USB-C line adapter faulty? Is it something to do with the app?EDIT: So 1) I figured out that the “Line-In (L)/(R)” indicator probably refers to which speaker the adapter is physically plugged into, not whether the speakers are “virtually” connected to the Line input or not. 2) The issue seems to be with the Stereo pair not communicating properly, or an issue with the router causing dropouts and then the Right speaker to stop outputting sound altogether, not with the adapter. Probably best to totally reset the speakers when they start doing that...
Heya! So I like the idea with a soundbar that is NOT a bluetooth-device. I’m looking for a sound-device that works like my Chromecast-device = everyone in my network should be able to quickly and easy cast whatever they want to the device. Is this how Sonos One works?I understand you need the app for the first setup, but when the device is connected to my network I guess the Sonos One will pop-up to anyone in my network as a Speaker? Is this how Sonos Work? Thank you!
HelloWe have recently moved house to one with a Sonos system installed throughout. We have 5 speakers in the living room2 in the kitchen/diner.1 in the bathroom and a zp100 under the stairs which they are wired into We have reset the system but can only pick up one set of speakers (kitchen) which we are able to play music through, though we can pick up static from living room so they appear to be on. I'm sure it's something quite simple but I've run out of things to try, can anyone talk me through what I need to do to find these other 2 rooms on my app? Thanks
We have 2 pairs of sonos 1 speakers that were purchased in the last year - 1 pair is Sonos SL and other is Sonos 1. We are looking to add either an Era 300 or sonos play 5 with 2 goals:New speaker needs to direct connect to a turntable with a preamp new speaker needs to connect to the 4 sonos 1 speakers we already have to play turntable and any other music through wi-fi (since the they are not bluetooth capable)thank you
HiThere’s a few other questions over mesh & router & password changes but not sure I really understand them or maybe don’t fully apply to my situation.I have: PlayBar with 2 Play1s, Play3, Play5, another Play1. Gen1 system (getting on for 10 yrs old now) with a Sonos Bridge. All was fine (mostly) using the existing WiFi via a PlusNet router (possible a HobOne?).As I live in an old stone house with 3ft thick walls all over the place I struggle with WiFi in the house so I’ve invested in a TP-Link Deco P9 system (these units use a Powerline method for connecting the various stations). The house coverage is now much more stable and even, which is good. BUT… I now can’t get any of the Sonos speakers to work on the new mesh system. I’ve tried all the app suggests, repowering first and then I connect a Play3 to the router as another option suggested. Nothing seems to find the speaker. Any ideas on how I can fix this please? The original WiFi is still up and running (at the moment but
I want to play my cd collection again. Will a Marantz cd6007 connect to my two play 5 speakers to give me stereo output. My play 5 speakers were purchased 5 years between but I believe they are generation 1 speakers.
My Play5:1 Gen1 speaker no longer works, no power supply. Also, does anyone know how to dismantle this speaker?
How to connect my zoneplayer s5 wia any application?Any help?Connecting via RJ45? Would appreciate any help. BrJeppis
I switched my internet from frontier to Verizon home internet. I can only connect play 3 to the new service. Move and Roam cannot connect. It’s frustrating. I was on the Sonos tech support for over 1 hour and they suggested I ask Verizon to create a second WiFi but Verizon had no clue about that fix. I may go back to my old provider rather than buy other speakers.
Hello. I have a Sonos Ray but the TV I would like to connect it to has no optical audio output. The TV has a SPDIF output. Would the following converter work if I connect from the SPDIF TV output to the converter via a SPDIF cable, and then the optical output on the converter to the Ray via the optical cable? Thankshttps://amzn.eu/d/iL3UG1T
I am sick of Sonos and wish I hadn’t invested so much. The speakers are fantastic, but the software interface is awful. We are constantly losing connection to speakers. Speakers not being found. Speakers are dropping out. Volumes changing. And before you start telling me it is the wifi connection - it isn’t. That is stable, and we don’t have any problems with anything else. I want proper help and don’t want to be given the runaround. D
