Accoring to my system overview the Sub is gen2. But the production date on the serial number is 1503. So how to tell if it is gen1 or gen2? Also the ring around the middle is more silver and also the Sonos letters are more silver. When I look at gen2 these are more black.
I don’t see much info here on room size and sound proofing for Sonos. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this here before. Our audio/video room is approximately 30’x20’. The floor is ceramic tile. I have all of my audio (stereo) & video set up on the back wall which pretty much takes up most of the 20’ side. My Sonos 5.1 (Ones/PlayBase/Sub) is included. I have new Sonos Fives coming this week. They will replace my Ones for surrounds. The Sonos sounds good with the Ones but I’m expecting the Fives to sound much more than the Ones. Right now my 5.1 isn’t true 5.1 as the Ones are alongside my Sony Bravia 75” tv so they are facing forward. I want to put the Fives on the sides of my sofa. I don’t have floor stands for the Fives yet. They will be facing forward until I can purchase Flexson stands. I feel the room size is perfect for watching tv and listening to audio. Can I make the sound better by place my Sub on a rubber mat or carpet square? Also if I add a rug underneath the coffee table would
Hi, I have two play 1 speakers I use in stereo and use Spotify. However I have came across tidal hifi service and have used this recently. I paying for hifi which I believe is cd quality. I use the tidal app directly to play onto Sonos. Will my old speakers support cd quality? Thanks
Lately I’ve been having issues when I use AirPlay2 on my Move with Play1’s. I have my paired Play1’s in the garage and when I bring Move to the garage to play alongside my Play1’s they play together fine until I sync AirPlay2 to the Move. Music will play on Move/Play1’s for a little while and then the Move will drop out or the Play1’s will drop out for 10+seconds and come back on or both will drop out. Sometimes one or the other will drop indefinitely. I have to go through my Sonos2 app to retry connecting AirPlay2 back to Move. I’ve tried changing my Boost setting 1/6/11 and still does the same thing. This gets annoying so I’ll go back to playing Spotify or music library. I haven’t done a diagnostic check yet. Thanks.
Hello,do anyone noticed a total loss in the power of the sound for the Sub since 14.18 update ? i have 2 play 5 gen 2 and 1 sub and since, sub is no more existing its very frustating.
My current living room setup is two Ones and sub on hardwood floor (part of the room has a rug). The hardwoods are new and have a thick layer of soundproofing, like gym floor mat, and it works amazing. My downstairs neighbor can only hear bass when Im listening at a decent volume at night. My question -- since the sub frequency is resonating on the ground, I assume it’s always going to be a problem. Would swapping to two Fives fix this? I want to be able to listen louder without disturbing. Thanks
Hi there, I want to add sono devices on my website. Can I do affiliate marketing with sonos? I have thousands of visitors on my website. Can I earn income from affiliate?
So, the long awaited sub arrived yesterday, and I've immediately set it up in my living room (which I believe falls into the Sonos definition of small-medium size) and paired it with Arc and One's as Surround and so far is one of the biggest disappointments I ever had from a piece of tech.I've played music, movies, tv shows and to my hears, I couldn't hear any differences, the sub at 0 is almost not audible, at 5 you can hear something, and bringing it at +15 finally showed some heavy bass, but I don't think that it is normal. On top of that, to me seems like the Arc and Surrounds are still playing those bass notes, instead of handing it down to the Sub and mid - high seems exactly the same as before, and I've expected it to sound better. So I've started experimenting: Tried turning the sub off, made no tangible difference to my hears Tried moving the sub to another room, so that I couldn't hear it, and to my hears the arc was still playing low frequency sounds. Tried turning off the
I have two Play:5s with a Sub Gen 2 and I use them horizontal with Trueplay disabled. Would putting them vertical make any difference to how they sound vs when they are horizontal?
I want to be able to use my Roam as a bluetooth speaker connected to my Mac. I can pair it and everything works fine, except during the periods where I’m not playing music or generating computer audio, the Sonos disconnects from bluetooth and reverts to wifi. Is there any way to stop the roam from automatically disconnecting after periods of inactivity? It’s very annoying.
Hi, can I connect Sonos Five with a turntable to my existing Sonos One (stereo pair) and still keep the stereo function as shown in the picture below?
If you are lucky, it will last over a year (until the warranty expires) then die. Dead. When contacted, supports’ solution is to sell you another. If you refuse this option and are willing to spend over an hour proving that it is, indeed, dead and arguing that you will not accept anything other than replacement and being placed on hold (repeatedly), they will finally relent and agree to back their product. You need to be made of tough stuff to buy a ROAM. If not, heed my advice and DO NOT BUY A ROAM
Our old computer system (iMac G5 2014) was hosting our music library which was running two Sonos Play 5 (get 1) speakers without issues. Each speaker had a unique name, and I was able (via the controller) to turn each speaker on and off individually. That computer died a few months ago. I went to hook up this same system to a different mac (Mac Mini 2017 vintage), and after a few tries got the system working, but with only one of the two speakers. When I open the controller interface (I updated the software upon moving the system to the new computer), the option of adding/selecting each individual speaker no longer exists. Instead, the only addressable option is a group name I had given the two speakers. So, how do I reconnect the second speaker into the system?
Replaced our WiFi router with a new one. Same network name, same password. Google Nest reconnected fine. Not Sonos, tho. Sonos app showed the “Fix it” message. Tapped through, and started the “Update your system’s network settings” process. First time, the app just crashed midway through. Started it again, and it failed midway through. Third time now, and the app just hangs (going on 15 min) on the screen that says 2-3 minute process.
Browsing ebay I ran across these Sub port protectors. Cheaper than the pre-made fabric protectors and less effort than making your own from speaker-cloth. If you have a plastic printer making your own might be fun.How they’d impact the sound I don’t know.https://www.ebay.com/itm/195315533156?hash=item2d79b68564:g:loIAAOSwFNdjDFlP&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAkOOAuJTc6pjUNslRYX4TfBWcouHq%2Fh4JvvbOfKcFw%2FSQeaOGAQqWEMKM%2BwCdaxe42pJODEzoY6raNfX1jgnYa5RSFpADVpNwszlLjs1EB0xqxZfU7wJVtcLDrmgAViOtwZ9vOWkTOJ4dcR2ZKNV9UGNP7hP4QzVDz%2B4IJSuI5M%2F4e4LULXiRtuxpuxWyfQ3Ekg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4i00pP3YA
Just ordered a Sonos mini sub. It would be used mainly for music with my Sonos one’s in stereo What would be the best position. Never used a Sub before.Thank you
I was wondering if there are plans for a next generation Arc?
I was forced to change internet providers and received a new router. My ONE connects just fine, but the Play:3 says it cannot connect to the WiFi, and that I should check the password. Now I know that Play:3 doesn't work on 5GHz, so I set up a band steering rule in my router, forcing it to connect to the Play:3 on 2.4GHz. I even did the same for the ONE and my phone (at least temporarily) to make 100% sure everything will be on the same network/frequency during set-up. To no avail. My old router was also set to hybrid 2.5/5GHz and the Sonos products worked without issue. Am at my wits' end here. I'd really like to avoid operating separate 2.4 and 5GHz networks.
Hi Sonos communityI have a bunch of Sonos products and like most responsible home owners I suddenly got an interest to get my energy consumption under control.Using a electricity meter (a dedicated power meter, not a smart plug) I find that my Sonos speakers consume roughly 15W (S1), 18W (S3) and 20W (S5). It is a lot higher than mentioned on https://support.sonos.com/s/article/256 but when I look more careful (in Home Assistant) the devices are in "paused" state, not "idle"... Hm, perhaps that is my problem. The same article as above explains how/when the devices turn into "idle" (and reach the advertised low energy consumption state) but regardless of what I do I can't observe that ever happening. None of the devices are playing anything, I wait for 3 minutes but nothing happens... I wait for 30 minutes, still nothing. I don't have any surround system which can cause a longer delay accordig to the article. When I look at the state history (in Home Assistant again) I can't see any devi
Sonos stopped supporting my expensive Play5 speakers only a few years after I paid for them. Will they stop supporting these new products too? They are expensive and it sucks when they become soundless Paper Weights.
Hi,I’m new to Sonos and I bought a used Sonos Play:5(gen1) hoping to connect it to my Apple TV-4k using AirPlay. Both the Sonos Play:5(gen1) and Apple TV-4k are connected to the same wifi network, but I am unable to discover the Apple TV-4k as an ‘Airplay Compatible product’ using the Sonos S1 app on my iPhone. My Apple TV doesn't present the Sonos Play:5 as one of the audio output devices either. Is there any way to pair Sonos Play:5(gen1) and Apple TV-4k? If not, what Sonos device would you recommend for streaming sound from Apple TV-4k as well as iPhones. Thanks a lot.
Hola, quería saber si se puede oír en el Sonos one sl audios de webs de internet, directamente desde el ordenador sistema WindowsGracias
My Sonos Move is so useless we’ve stopped trying to use it.What a total waste of money.I’ve had it for over two years and it constantly disconnects itself from WiFi AND Bluetooth. When I’ve finally got BOTH connected again it still won’t play ANYTHING - WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY.I bought a cheap ‘ Creative Muvo Mini’ Bluetooth speaker and it works perfectly EVERY time - why is SONOS so difficult to use! Sent from my iPad
My speakers are intermittently appearing and disappearing from my Sonos apps. On my phone I usually get only the Beam, but sometimes only the Play:3. On my laptop I get Move most of the time but not always. Really weirdly, I can play music through Spotify connect through the Play:3 via the sonos connection at the same time that the same speaker does not appear in the sonos app. what is going on and how can I fix it?! All are connected on the same wifi, I’ve tried switching off and on multiple times. I’ve tried to find the speakers in the sonos app by adding a new product to my system. It’s hugely frustrating!
My speakers (sonos 1) and sub keep disconnecting from the app. Almost as if they go into a power saver mode after an hour or so and then I have to power them down and on again to get them to reconnect Why do they not just stay on all the time?
