I have the BBC skill set up in Alexa and if I ask Alexa to 'play BBC Radio 2' it plays from my Echo Spot rather than the SONOS speakers that I set up as my preferred speakers in Alexa groups. If I disable the BBC app, then Alexa gives me a message saying something abut the previously enabled app is disabled do I want to enable it. To make it work I have to say 'Alexa play BBC Radio 2 in the Sitting Room'. If I say 'Alexa play Virgin Radio' (or any other radio station/music request) it plays through the SONOS speakers. I know this might be more of an Alexa question than a SONOS question but I'm asking just in case any of you SONOS experts have come across this and know a fix! Edit: I did do a search and found nothing, but now I've posted I see that this question has come up before although the answer is to do what I'm doing ie add 'in the sitting room' or 'from TuneIn' to the command, which isn't a really great solution.

I have four Sonos One SL speakers (2 in the living room and 2 in the bedroom) and wish to add one more, but I have a question and a problem.First, my problem: With the exception of Spotify (and perhaps 1-2 other apps I don’t use), in order to listen to anything on my speakers, it HAS to be accessed through the Sonos app itself (meaning you can’t just open your app and have it connect to the speakers) AND be on the Sonos app’s limited list of available apps. So you can’t use your speakers to listen to anything. Aside from the obvious inconvenience and significant restriction this places on your use of the speakers, there are other problems with this. An example: I have an app called Calm that offers nature sounds, meditations, soothing music, etc. I use it primarily as white noise because some of its nature sounds do a great job masking the noise from my upstairs neighbor. It won’t connect directly to my Sonos speakers, but luckily, it is available through the Sonos app. Great, you say.

Hi,I am new to Sonos, but looking to incorporate a number of Sonos products in my home as I complete a renovation.  I am working with an AV installer, but I have a couple questions, which I cannot find clear answers for and so I’m looking for some help.In the living room, I will be using a Sonos Arc + Sonos Sub + Sonos Amp/in-ceiling speakers for the rear surrounds. My installer is recommending that I use Monitor Audio C265 speakers as the in-ceiling speakers instead of the Sonos in-ceiling speakers, as he feels that they are a better speaker for the price point.  Here are my quesitons:If I use non-Sonos in-ceiling speakers (connected to Sonos Amp) for my rear channel in the 5.1 setup, obviously I will lose truplay calibration for the in-ceiling speakers.  However, will I also lose the ability to trueplay tune the Arc + Sub (since the non-Sonos in-ceiling speakers would be connected to that particular set up)?  What does the trueplay calibration do that I cannot do by manually adjustin

I’m swapping out my full-sized, wired 7.1 Klipsch to Denon AVR system, looking to know how upscale a Sonos system I can build as wirelessly as possible, eliminating the receiver and using an HDMI Arc or HDMI eArc connection from the TV. The only other connections to the system would be a Blu-Ray player (ideally routed through the TV via HDMI) and my phone (via the Sonos app).I'm guessing an Arc, 2 Subs, and 2 Play 5's for the rear channel would be the ultimate system achievable under currently available Sonos products? Or can Sonos do a 5.2.2 without an Arc or other soundbar? Or are there other Sonos soundbars that would be an improvement to the Arc if another pair of speakers were used for the upfiring Atmos channels?Can you use other, better Sonos speakers as the upfiring/height and FL/FC/FR channels? I’m a novice with sound issues.  I have a recently purchased a Beam, which I have been playing with my Samsung TV sound output.  Because of space issues the Beam soundbar is on a shelf to the right of the TV, which results in a one directional sound when watching TV.  I now have purchased a Sonos 1 (2nd Gen) and placed it on a shelf to the left of the TV in an attempt to get a more balanced sound output.  I gave the Beam and the Sonos 1 different “room” names and “grouped” them as per the app instructions.  I then set the volume levels in the app to the same settings and confirmed that the TV sound was coming out of both speakers.  The trouble is that when watching TV, the volume of each speaker keeps changing.  Each gets very quiet for a time at different times while watching.  They quiet to the point that it seems to the listener that the sound has gone off in one of the speakers.  It hasn’t, however. it just gets very quiet relative to the other speaker. Swapping out my full sized Klipsch 7.1 + Denon AVR and wondering if it is possible to create a 6.2 4 Atmos system with one wired Arc connection to an Atmos-capable TV, 2 wireless Sonos subs and a 2nd Arc wireless connected to the rear for a 6.2.4 Atmos setup.Is this viable? Has anyone done it? Specifically, can 2 Arcs be connected to the same Atmos setup if only the one is wired?

Hi there,I bought the Sonos Move speaker primarily to use as a bluetooth speaker but I often have problems with it, especially when using Windows or Android devices. For some reason it doesnt happen as often with Apple devices.Basically the audio will cut out briefly for about half a second, and this happens at regular intervals of around 5-10 minutes. Can anyone help me with this? Is the speaker faulty or is there something that I’m not doing right? Any advice would be much appreciated. This is otherwise a great speaker. Daniel

Bought arc and sub 2 weeks ago.  i could have wept at how incredible it sounded.  added two one sl's last week as rear surrounds.  All was glorious for about 48 hours.  while watching a 4k br friday night (longest possible time to talk to a live support rep), arc made a loud static like sound for a second or two.  arc and sub disconnected.  reconnected arc no problem.  sub was a bear. was able to get incredibly faint sound out of sub after hardwiring arc, but nothing like its potential.  literally 4 hours on the phone with support today. at least 2 dozen diagnostics.  supervisor (who was super nice and genuinely interested in helping me fix things) ultimately told me I'd need to schedule a call with the engineering team (which I found out later was in two days!). kept perusing forum and something clicked to make me disconnect surrounds.  the bass is back in a big and beautiful way! but my one sl's are paper weights.  any thoughts on what caused the issue and how to configure the two re

Hi all,I have a Play:5 and I was thinking of getting a portable projector with screen mirroring capabilities (e.g. https://www.viewsonic.com/us/m1-1.html). My question is can the projector mirror the video on my iPhone (for the viewsonic at least it is a wireless network connection) and be able to play the audio through my Play:5 (using AirPlay)? I’ve been successfully using the S1 app for a couple of years to control my Play:5 but after adding a Play:3 I want both me and my wife to be able to control the speakers. My wife downloaded the S1 app and can use it fine but ever since she did I keep getting a message in my S1 app that it can’t connect to Sonos and no speakers are visible. It clears when she moves out of wifi range then i can control the speakers again.I always understood two people could have the S1 app in the same household and control the same speakers. Is this not the case? This is a showstopper for us if we can’t get it to work for both of us.Thanks

Hi All - I was thinking of buying the Sonos Arc to go with my new Samsung Q90T TV.  Reading the  community views it seems there are some compatibility issues.  Does anyone know if these have been resolved?  Thanks 

So I reset my system (which up until now was working fine) because I had network issues.  Now, even after completely rebooting the Sonos app I can no longer control the Arc’s volume via the app OR my remote control (which was setup to do it and used to work just fine before this network reset).I ran Soundcheck to recalibrate (which worked fine AND had high volume) but afterwards the Arc is about as silence as a silenced lamb. I’ve rebooted the Arc as well with no luck.  I can’t turn the volume down or up -- or even silence it.  Anyone have a clue as to what to do next?

HiThank you very much Sonos for this.My system was working perfectly fine until last week one of my speakers (bookshelf) started acting up. Since I have a wifi extension I wondered where it was connected exactly so I decided to reset it.I boot my tablet, (android 7 working perfectly well up to then), and it says: “there is an update for sonos app”. And idiot that I am i hit “update”….it took a while to update and me wondering why …..Surprise!!.The new piece of whatever refused to add a new speaker because “android 7 is no longer supported” And I haven’t been able to find the previous version of S2 to just stick with it.So as the double idiot that I am I go and decide to buy a new tablet with android 10.And what now?Yes, I can now readd my speaker to the system.But this thing comes with something called Google Go. And you can’t delete it. You can disable it but Google play doesnt care. It’s still there and GP refuses to install “Google LLC” instead. Why is this important  you ask?Becaus

Since recent Stitcher and asonos app updates for iOS equipment, both my iPhone 8 and iPad 2…. when I bring up stitcher to play podcasts on sonos, it lists all my podcasts…. Under shows… but no longer has them grouped like they are in the stitcher app.  So this means I have to scroll thru all my various podcasts to find what I’m looking for.before these app updates, the groupings came over int9 Sonos…. making it so much easier to find the podcast im looking for.sure would be nice 9f we could get these groupings back!

Completely revamping my home theater, formerly wired 7.1 Klipsch to Denon AVR- S730H supporting a 55” non-Atmos Samsung. Looking to go smaller and (as much as possible) wireless (minimal wired connections going back to a central location) --- and definitely want to go Atmos (at least 5.1.2, but optimally 7.2.4 or 9.2.4, with Atmos channels firing up rather than emanating from ceiling speakers or true height channels).So, do I even actually need a receiver at this point? If I were to upgrade to a 2019 or 2020 65” OLED/Atmos LG with a single Blu-Ray player, do I even need a receiver? Or can I just go full Sonos with the TV as the Atmos processor for itself and the Blu-Ray player? We just got a new Xfinity set top box and I've tried setting up the new remote. After pairing the remote, the mute doesn't work and Volume Up and Volume Down BOTH turn up the volume. It got very loud in here for a bit. How do I get the Playbar to lower the volume when I'm pressing Volume down? 

Can you airplay from Apple TV 4K to Sonos arc and send Dolby Atmos signal from Apple TV 4K to Sonos Arc?

For some reason just recently using the Amazon music service within the Sonos app my Amazon Music Albums and Playlists recommended for me are all indian music, which I have never listened to before ever. any ideas what’s happened please.

Both Sonos Arc and Apple TV only have HDMI port. Since Dolby Atmos does not seem to work with Airplay (correct?), I would need a HDMI splitter to connect both the Arc and my old projector. Would that work? What kind of splitter would I have to buy for DolbyAtmos to work? Or is there another possibility? A Toslink splitter for example? Thanks a lot for any advice!

Is this the latest way for Sonos to force updates on users, because Sonos are more important than the end user?What part of ‘its not convenient to update right now’, don't Sonos understand, but hide the music instead so effectively disabling my system until I am a good boy and do my update immediately as Sonos command? Are we all children of Sonos now or what?? Come on Sonos, stop trying to impose yourselves on users.  

I have seen many threads on backing up your Sonos playlist.  One guy indicated why would Sonos want to provide this feature.  For one it has been asked for a million times and I would think that Sonos buyers would want to have the capability.  Only thing I can think of is that there is some interest and financial benefit to Sonos to not provide that feature.  Seems simple enough.  I am building a playlist (2000+ songs) on one Sonos device at home.  I would very much like to export that playlist and import to another Sonos device at a vacation home.

When I press buttons on the Five, I can control the whole system like pausing and turning up the sound but I cannot get any sound from them I change the laptop audio setting to the Sonos 5.1 airplay setting. However, the connection lasts for about 20 minutes before it starts breaking apart or disconnects completely.  Hi, I’m lucky enough to have both new consoles and wasn’t really messing around too much with sound when I first got them, but I’ve just upgraded my 2014 LCD to an LG CX and need setup advice.  I have a Playbar and 2 gen1 Play surround speakers. I know I can’t get Dolby Atmos with this setup but what are the best settings for sound for the consoles?  On Series X I have HDMI audio set to 5.1 uncompressedOn PS5 I had it originally set to Linear PCM but I’ve found Bitstream (Dolby) and Bitstream (DTS) do produce sound... Very little audio experience and would really appreciate any help! 

I can’t control my Sonos system volume from my Galaxy 3 watch. Has anyone figured this out? I can control the Sonos Pause and Skip functions from my watch. I have the Sonos S2 app on my Samsung Note 9 phone. To enable Sonos control on my watch, I followed these instructions: On the phone, open Sonos App Settings > App Preferences and turn on “Show Notifications,” “Show Lock Screen Controls,” “Control From Other Devices,” and “Home Screen Volume Control.” This worked, and the music app on my watch now has a Sonos option. It shows the title of the current song playing and the Pause and Skip functions work. The volume control is changing the Media volume on my phone, which would normally work, but on my phone there is a new slider labeled Sonos in my volume control. Its icon is a little box with the wireless lines in the corner, similar to the “Cast” icon in Chrome and YouTube for casting the display to a TV. Adjusting the Media volume slider on my phone (or from the watch) doesn’t cha
