Hello,When I’m using Sonos optical to hdmi converter on my Sonos Beam soundbar, there is a delay with my other speakers. This doesn’t happen if I’m using direct HDMI cable connection from my TV to the Beam, or when I’m streaming from the Sonos app, or over Airplay. My setup:Sonos Beam2x Ikea SymfoniskI’m using the converter to have another optical audio source as an input to the Sonos Beam.Could you please help me out?

Hi guys, I would greatly appreciate your help on the question below: Premise, I'm not much of an expert on audio formats, and I probably understand the difference between multichannel PCM and Dolby Atmos. More precisely, I have an LG oled C9 that supports EARC to which I have connected my new sonos ARC; I also connected my blu ray player (sony x800) to a normal HDMI 2.1 input on the TV. Why when I launch a movie (Dune) that is supposed to have audio in Dolby Atmos, on the sonos app S2 comes out Dolby PCM multichannel 5.1? Why not dolby atmos? I know PCM is a lossless format, but my question is: does it already contain Atmos data? Thanks so much!

I have Sonos speakers with Google Assistant enabled in all of my rooms. So far it worked as expected. My Sonos One and Arc speakers would only respond one at a time. So if I was standing between two rooms, even if two speakers reacted to the “Hey Google” keyword, the response would only come from the one I was standing closest to.Now I have added the Roam as my bathroom speaker. Annoyingly the Roam will always react to my commands. Even if I am standing closer to another speaker. This leads to an echo effect when the Roam plus another speaker are both responding. How can I disable the multi response and make only one speaker react to my voice commands?

Hi,I’ve had my beam and 2 SL ones for a few years now. As of tonight the sound gets choppy after a few seconds of audio of all kinds (streaming, local computer music, music cast to the TV directly).I’ve eliminated a computer problem (Smart Tv Netflix was choppy) and the sound works fine when sound comes out of anything but speakers (headphones).TV sounds works fine when the setup from Sonos is disconnected, and I’ve reset the system to no improvement.I usually use the whole setup wireless, so I tried with ethernet and the problem got worse, which I didn’t think was possible.I really hope it’s not a replace the beam situation, if any help can be provided I’d appreciate it.

I have a whole surround sound set up, Sonos Arc the Sub gen 3 and two Sonos One SL but almost all the time, my rear Sonos One SL speakers flicker in and out of sound like there loosing signal or there's an interference I notice it even more so if I pass in front of the speakers or get close to them, my wifi is strong and my router is next to my TV I Xfinity Xfi gateway with 1,200 gig speed there highest speed I can get, so I'm curios what it could be?

I saw a couple closed topics on this, but the answers were inconsistent.  I’m planning on getting a pair of Fives to setup in stereo mode.  As I don’t want the controls to be on the side of the speaker when orienting them vertically, I’d like to orient them horizontally.  Given that with a single speaker, horizontal puts it in stereo mode and vertical in mono, and vertical seems to be the recommendation for a stereo pair, can I orient a pair horizontally and have them work properly in stereo mode? Also, when in stereo mode, does the volume control on one speaker control the volume for the pair or just that one speaker?

I cant enable the Alexa skill to access Spotify on my Beam, Help and advice needed. I have set it up correctly, but it keeps asking me to enable the skill on the alexa app. please can someone tell me what im doing wrong

Just a quick couple of questions. I’ve currently got 2 Play:1’s, Is it possible to pair them with the beam (gen 2) for surround sound?  Second question is about Airplay 2. Since the Play:1’s don’t have Airplay 2, if I got a Beam (gen 2) and set up the play:1’s, would anything i Airplay to the Beam get sent to the play:1’s too? Thanks

Could some from Sonos Support please tell what the solution was to the problem mentioned here? I have exactly the same problem and the only solution is to pull the plug on the Sonos 5 and restart it. There has to be a better way.

I live in rented accomodation with housemates. I recently purchased a Sonos Roam and tried to set it up before realising that one of my housemates has their own system on the wifi already, which blocks me from setting up my own system. He is currently away so I can’t access his speaker.  I don’t want my housemate to have to share their account details with me for obvious reasons, so is there another solution here? How have other people living with housemates dealt with this?

Q1. Can you connect an apple tv via airplay directly to two Sonos 5s?Q2. If yes, will the volume control on the apple remote control the volume of the Sonos 5s?

Hello everyoneI'm looking to buy a used connect amp, days ago I found one with thesn 1308 00 ......... and thanks to you I discovered that it was a 1st gen.now I have found one with the sn 1804 5c ....... can you tell me if it is a first or second gen.?Thanks for your help

Hi everyoneNew Sonos user here. I’ve set my Beam Gen 2 and pair of One SLs (living room) with Google Voice, and I’ve also linked a Google Home Mini (kitchen) to the Sonos in the hope that:I can use the mini in the kitchen to control music on the Sonos system in the living room; I can transfer whatever is playing in the living room to the kitchen and vice versa; and I can duplicate whatever is playing in the living room in the kitchen and vice versa. Please can somebody let me know if this is possible? The problem’s I’m having are:When I try and transfer or duplicate music (e.g. by saying “play in the living room as well” it says it doesn't recognise that command? If I ask the google home mini to play something it defaults to playing on the Sonos system - I would have thought I’d need to specify that I wanted it to play in the living room and it would default to the kitchen?Any input greatly appreciated!  Thanks

Play bar will not connect to S2, which I recently got in order to connect new Sonos speakers. Speakers work great on S2. The playbar was connected to S1 and worked fine. I did a reset with play bar connected to ethernet. Playbar has green blinking light but is not recognized by S2. Now I can’t connect to either S2 or S1 so the playbar is not working at all. Just trying the have the playbar on S2 along with the new speakers.

Hi, I am planning to buy a sonos 5 and a turntable to start listening to old LPs, I would also like to listen to old CD collections, the questions are:Can you recommend a CD player I should buy? Can I use the external port on the sonos 5 for a CD player. Is it possible to use a twin adapter so I can have both CD and Turntable connected to the single Sonos 5 external port?Thanksmccmyles

Please can you feature a  ‘disable the mic button’ on the Beam. It’s so annoying, I have 3 of these and the cleaner constantly turns the mics off.

I accept it is not possible to stereo pair two Roams via Bluetooth. However, the Roam appears to handle Bluetooth and Wi-Fi simultaneously as I can receive a Bluetooth input from my Sony Bluetooth record deck and then group the roam with my other Sonos speakers via Wi-Fi.I would like to buy a second Roam and use two as a stereo pair with my Bluetooth deck. Can I do this? Will one of the Roams be able to simultaneously receive a Bluetooth input from the deck whilst working as a stereo pair with the second Roam via Wi-Fi?Logic says yes, but I’d rather not shell out another £179 if it doesn't work.

I have seen a couple of questions regarding the LED on the Sonos Amp - but I am confused …The Amp appears to be permanently on, which, in this day and age of power crises, seems a little environmentally irresponsible.  The unit remains quite warm to the touch, indicating power consumption even if the unit is not amplifying or playing anything.  If the central sensor is touched, the LED flashes and the unit then becomes cooler.  So what is the sensor doing in this case? What exactly is the point of the LED?  It doesn’t seem to indicate anything … line in status, power status  , anything …  The only use is perhaps to indicate where the touch sensor is in a pitch black room?It would be useful if there was a different colour for an active line-in signal or perhaps if the power amps were in standby mode ...I presume the only way to power it down is to pull the power lead or switch off at the wall?

Hi all, basically what the title says,If I look for a song using the main search function and select it either on the Artist or the Title tab, if I select More, there is the option to create a “Station”, which would play the song and similar ones but in a very limited fashion (no scrubbing, no going back to the previous song, not being able to see the playlist)However, if I search for a playlist of my own created in Apple Music, and pick a song from inside there, when I select More, there is no such option, I wonder why that is, what makes it differentThanks!

Maybe I’m wrong here, but seems year ago the Sonos API had a “Speak Text and Resume” option, so back then in my SmartThings days, I could have Sonos speak a TTS alert and then it’d continue playing music where it left off. I’m now on Hubitat, but I believe this feature has gone away altogether. Am I wrong about that?Is there any way to get Sonos to resume playing a song after it’s interrupted by a TTS request?

Afternoon all.Bought a Roam on pre order ages back. It arrived in good time, was installed and worked a treat. A week later I lost it! Long story. Yesterday it turned up …. another long story. It no longer shows in my S2 app or environment. So I thought, lets add it again. But no joy.Just to add, I bought a Sonos wireless charger base for it, charged it and that seems be working well. But I cannot get it to show the green light. If I remember well, if I get to that point, the app should see it?I can get it to flash blue. I can get it to show white light. But I’m missing something in re-adding it to my environment.Appreciate any advice or procedure or link that can get me up and listening again. Many thanks in advance

Sonos and audio noob here. Just starting out with a Beam in the living (tv + music) and a One in the bedroom. My wife wants to keep the cd collection + a player, so I'm looking at Connect-ing the player. However, our current mini audioset has only headphone output, so now I'm wondering whether that's enough as input for the Connect (with an adapter cable), or whether I should look into getting a new cd player. And if so, what specs for the output connection? Dual tulip connectors?(Yes, I expect the cd player to have a limited lifespan after I introduce her to the joys of the Sonos controller--I've already ripped the entire cd collection to our music library. But for now, this is the path I'm on.)PS: Checking the Sonos site, they don't seem to advertise the Connect any longer. It's still for sale elsewhere though. Would that even be compatible with the new Beam/One I have?

Good afternoon,I have a new Sonos Move that I have assigned to a stereo pair of an existing unit.  I am finding that the right hand unit keeps on dropping out.At the moment, I have music coming out of the left speaker, but not the right.  If I change the balance to the right speaker, I get silence.  I’ve just submitted a diagnostic, number 2131499804.If I unpair the stereo pair, both speakers work.  If I then repair, it works, but then it drops out again after a while.Yesterday, I chatted with with a support agent online.  They said that one speaker was on channel 34, the other was on channel 42 and as such it didn’t work.  They asked me to unpair and repair (which fixed it).  I went through “I’ve already done that - it will just happen again”.  They suggested changing the sonosnet channel from 11 to 1.  Quite why changing the 2.4GHz channel would affect speakers running on 5GHz, I don’t know.  But, the agent assured me that would fix the problem.Unsurprisingly, I’ve just pressed play

Hello,I would like to upgrade from Sonos One to Home Cinema system using my eligibility for 30% discount. My question is whether I’ll be able to use my old Sonos One after the change os it will be deactivated by Sonos. Thank youJavier
