Hi Sonos, I recently bought a Sonos Arc and have connected it to my TV using the HDMI Arc output of my (Philips) TV. Unfortunately I’m not that blown away by the sound quality, it sounds very ‘metallic’ and ‘crisp’ (I don’t have a sub at the moment so I expected to miss a little bass, but now it just sounds cheap. I created a diagnose report, the id being: 1920014812. Would be great if someone from support could check if there are any issues with the setup, or if anyone has any tips.. Johan

Hi all,I bought a turntable including phono preamp and wanted to connect it to my Play 5 via line-in. However, since my two Play 5 are configured together with a Sonos Beam and a Sonos Sub as a 5.1 setup, this is apparently not possible.My new plan would be to buy a used Connect S2 instead and connect it to the line-out of my phono preamp. Audio playback would then be via the Sonos 5.1 setup described above. Can anyone tell me if this would be possible? I would also be open to alternative solutions.Thanks for your answersJohnny

I can get the system to play play Dolby digital plus 5.1 on these settings:TV - Multichannel (non-bypass)PS5 - HDMI set to AV Amplifier, number of channels 5.1, audio format dolbyAny other combination i have tried only get dolby digital 5.1 or stereo sound. Should i be able to get dolby atmos if playing from disney plus. Also am getting a sync issue no matter what the output is. Is the HD fury arcana my best option to fix this as i don't want to be adjusting it in the app. 

Hi,I have a question not easy to explain but I will try : I bought a sound at Arc connected to the TV on ARC output, a subwoofer, two sl one. I coupled these four speakers in the application, they are installed in my living room. When I listen music the sound is playing on all speakers but when I watch a movie a tv, or when I watch tv the same sound is not playing on all speakers, the main sound is playing on the sound bar and the other sound (the background music) is playing on the two sl one.i would like to ear the same the sound on all speakers all the time. Hi there, I am new to the forums and was hoping for some advice/guidance on the best way to set up my new beam gen 2. I appreciate this question has probably been done to death here so apologies in advance if this has been answered elsewhere. I am asking again as a lot of the answers I have found appear to relate to previous generation sonos products which I believe only had optical in and did not have HDMI in and I haven’t found any guidance specifically relating to the beam gen 2. The issue I am having is that the TV is old (from around 2014) and from testing and googling does not appear to passthrough DD 5.1 from external devices connected by HDMI (in my case a BT freeview box and PS4 used primarily for Plex rather than gaming). The sonos app does show DD 5.1 when using the built in netflix app which appears to confirm it is the HMDI passthrough on the TV, or lack thereof, that is the issue. A lot of the previous discussions on this suggest using an HDMI switch in order for audio to

I just switched to Amazon Music from Spotify. When I try to play music to my Beam 1 / Ones setup I get a verbal error message. Music won't play. Music works fine using the Sonos app. Is there a setting I need to update to use AM directly? Second question: I was told that in order to play Amazon Music in HD or UHD I must use the Sonos app. True? When I play my music using the Sonos app I only see the HD/UHD notation sporadically, even with playlists of all HD/UHD songs. Occasionally I see the notation appear mid-song. Normal?

Hi,I’ve seen there are topics on similar but try as I might I can’t fix it.2014 Panasonic TV TXL42ET60sky Q 1 TB boxsonos beam gen 2 connectionsbeam connected to TV via HDMI2 (ARC) using Sonos leadsky q to HDMI 1 viera link is on. HDMI output on TV is set to digital.setup via Sonos app and the TV is connected.I can only get sound on HD channels if on the Sky q settings the HDMI output is set to normal and then it comes as stereo PCM 2.0if I change the HDMI output on sky box to digital then I will only get sound on non-HD channelsAbsolutely infuriating so far. I’m expecting my LG Gallery OLED next week. I’ll be mounting it on the wall, as well as my Sonos Arc under it on the wall.If you’re familiar with the Gallery line of TVs, they have a custom wall bracket as well as channels to run the cables behind the TV that allow it to be mounted flush against the wall, so that it literally has a depth of 1 inch or so, looking like a painting on the wall. Similar to the Samsung Frame.I know Sonos recommends that the Arc be mounted 5.5 inches or more below a TV so the sound from the upward firing speakers is not impeded.  However, I’d like to mount mine more like 3-4 inches below the TV.I can’t imagine that a TV with 1 inch depth could block the upward firing speakers right?Seems like I should be fine.  Agreed?Thanks for any opinions.

I got a new Sonos system (arc + sub + 2x one sl)Got everything setup and was disappointed with the sub sound… until I heard the sounds from TV movies and music via Apple TV (routed through TV). TV output is the old arc, DTS 5.1.Comparing the same songs: the bass is so much deeper and present thought TV dan from the sonos app, or airplay. I tried al lot (enabling/disabling trueplay, playing with IQ, sub placement, ambient/full setting etc…) Nothing changes the massive difference. Via the app, I have to do my best to hear the difference between sub on or off. Does anybody have an idea what I am doing wrong? Or what might help… thnx

Hello,  I’ve seen the same question in this forum but all threads that I clicked on have been closed so I’m starting a new one because this is a new issue for me that just started occurring about a week ago. I have tried solutions suggested on the Sonos website and in the closed threads but nothing works.I have been using my current set up for over 6 months. Nothing has changed in terms of new equipment in the house or any new potential interference. I have very strong wifi with a booster and today’s download speed is 531Mbps. I have restarted my router, removed Spotify from Sonos and re-added it. I can play music directly from Spotify to my Sonos speakers without an issue but every time I use the Sonos app to play from Spotify I experience issues from the get go. It won’t even play one song. Stops after a few seconds, skips to the next song, another few seconds of sound, then skips again and so on. The message I get from Sonos app is that my wifi is unstable - that is false. I check m

Display of album artwork in the Android app for my local music library is very erratic. The library is stored on my Synology NAS. I have 100% of my album artwork embedded in the files, in sufficiently small-sized jpg. Also, I have a folder.jpg in almost every album folder. None of the jpg artwork is progressive.I've done a lot of experimentation with this subject, and have found:Album art sometimes shows up in the app, but often doesn't. (In the Windows desktop app, all artwork shows up all the time, as it does in Windows Explorer.) Some albums are often displayed with their artwork, others are often displayed without, but almost all albums are shown with artwork at least some of the time. There is no relation that I can detect between the size of the folder.jpg, or the size of the embedded artwork, and the display of the artwork in the Android app, nor with the number of tracks. Albums at the top of the alphabetical album list in the app are most often shown without their artwork. Alm

I submitted diagnostic report 1875321058.I have a Nest wifi mesh system, one router hardwired to the modem, an IP switch to which I have two additional Nest Wifi points hardwired and one additional wireless Nest WiFi extender. I have a gen 1 playbar wired to my main router through the IP switch, and the rest is all connected through the SonosNet via that product (Sub, Sub, Arc, Beam, Move).I've had this system (all but the Port) hooked up for over a year and I've never had any connection issues, song drops, product drops, etc. I just recently bought the Port to hook through an old receiver and speakers I inherited.Every time I try to play music through the Port the product just stops like 30 seconds in and disappears from my system and does a reset.  I've tried connecting it directly to one of the downstream routers, changing the compression, and changing to channel 11.I still continue to have absolutely zero issues on any of my other products, and I'm feeling lost.

I’ve recently invested in a Sonos system and am about to send it all back. I bought Sonos specifically because it CLAIMS to work with Plex. I don’t subscribe to streaming music services because I have spent a lifetime accumulating my own collection/library. I can view, browse, and begin playback of my music but then Sonos often skips tracks all together saying they cannot be accessed. When this behavior happens it will skip multiple tracks. Sometimes half way through a track it’ll skip to the next one without finishing the one I was just listening to. I have tested that all the tracks work. I can play all of them directly from my computer, any of the plex apps on my network or remotely. I use Plex in my car all the time with no issues. This happens whether I’m trying to play from the Sonos app OR if I try casting from Plex to Sonos within my home network. Will Sonos One work the Sonos Arc far as surrond sound?

Hi.When I play songs on Amazon Music Unlimited I get the following encoding error messages (below):  I assume it is to do with my Internet connection even though I have a fibre optic connection rated at 150 Mbps. The only way I can get the songs to play without errors is to connect to my smartphone with my Sky Q digibox via Bluetooth.Has anyone got any idea of what is going on?Cheers. My system consists of a Sonos Arc soundbar and a Sonus Sub (Gen 3)

I have a Bose Lifestyle 35 with outdoor speakers and I would like to replace it with a Sonos system.  I understand that Sonos doesn’t have bundles and has mix and match, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.  It looks like the Arc soundbar is what I will be getting, but other than that I haven’t the foggiest of what else.  I’ll have the home theater in one room which I would surround sound, while in another room I would like speakers for music as well as outdoor speakers for music.  My current outdoor speaker wires are not very good and would either replace them or have wireless outdoor speakers.  I’d like to be able to play music via Alexa and Apple Music.

I just added a Sonos Move to my Sonos home Wi-Fi system. I took the speaker away from my home, connected an iPhone to it via Bluetooth and performed a Zoom meeting. I wasn’t able to control the volume of the speaker via the side buttons so I tried to connect to it via the Sonos application for iOS. However, the application displayed a “WiFi isn’t connected” error. Is there a way to manage a Sonos Move via the Sonos application when it is connected via Bluetooth and a cellular data connection? Otherwise how can this issue of controlling the volume be resolved?

As a good couple of folks before me on this forum, I’ve started to experience a crackle on my Sonos Beam. It seems it came up sone, with no real change to my setup no usage at particularly loud volumes (in fact the system is capped at 60% in the settings). It is showing up when watching through a TV app (Samsung KS8000). Have walked through the common troubleshooting steps. I also submitted diagnostic with ID 1590603626. Anything that can be spied from the logs that might help me resolve this new crackle?

So a bit of context here, I’ve got two young children and we play them white noise on our Sonos to help them sleep. One of them has a Play:1, the other has a Sonos One (Gen 2).When we stop the audio using the button on top of the Play:1, we can just press play again and it continues. When we try and do the same on the Sonos One, it doesn’t have the track in the queue and we have to go through the app to select the audio again and get it playing, which can be a problem for babysitters or sometimes my technophobe wife! Both are playing the same track, which is hosted on my NAS and is on repeat and crossfade.I have been through the settings on both and can't find anything obvious. There is no issue with playing the track, just the Sonos One clears the queue when stopped.I should also say I have a Play:3 as well which works the same as the Play:1, no issue there.Thanks in advance everyone!
