Am I required to return the Playbase I upgraded to Arc or can I remove it from my system and give it to a family member? Thank you.

You are not required to return the Playbase to Sonos, and you can give it to a family member. Before you give it away you should reset it: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1096?language=en_US
You don’t need to return the Playbase to Sonos. You can do whatever you want with it including selling it or giving it to a family member. But you should reset the Playbase before you give it away.
