Can I use my phone as a wifi hotspot to connect 2 Move speakers in stereo away from home? Or does my phone also need to be connected to the same wifi, hence I would need a separate hotspot?I understand that  a lot of folks don’t appreciate the benefits of the stereo experience as much as I do, but to me, the great sound coming from my solitary Move speaker over bluetooth is veritably drowned out by the lack of a stereo sound stage. As someone who has traditionally supplied the music, I have fantasies of carrying the joy of my (future) pair of Moves away from my own backyard when hanging with friends in the exotic locations we are wont to haunt. I enjoy my Move to extend the sound from my living room Sonos system throughout my home and yard, but the idea of the best portable speaker I’ve had (in a long long line of them) not being able to do stereo away from home is dismal.Do I now need to go buy a wifi hotspot along with my 2nd Move?

Asking for a feature request to have Sonos volume control by Alexa be able to say a volume number and set it to that instead of the 0-10.  The right spot for listening is too loud at say 20 and too low at 10.  Just be nice to say Alexa set to volume to 18 or 25.

I got a new Sonos One speaker, set it up at home over the holidays.  Added to my current Sonos system and WIFI network, Alexa and Amazon Music all worked great. Now, tried to bring the Sonos One to Work.  Can’t seem to get it loaded onto my work WIFI.  Are there any easy steps to reconfigure on the same Sonos account for two locations? What happens when I want to move the speaker back home?  Can you have Sonos One setup so it can be moved from Work to Home and recognize both networks or can it only deal with one network? Any help or suggested procedures or YouTube videos would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I have 24 CONNECT:AMPs wired to a Smart Pro Cisco switch that ran fine for many years after Sonos support helped me program my cisco switch with the necessary STP (Spanning Tree) rules.  We also have several Sonos Subs scattered throughout the house that are NOT wired, hence they rely on the SonosNet.  Our 24 Amps are daisy changed to the cisco switch with a maximum of 4 units per daisy chain connected via ethernet cable to the cisco smart switch.  Again this ran fine since 2013 when I originally set this up and generally we still dont have any issues on Sonos.  I have verified under System | Network that we DO NOT have our regular WIFI credentials registered on the Sonos app.  As such we believe we are 100% using SonosNet and not our home WIFI network to provide signal to the wired subs and communicate with our apple iPhone to control Sonos Rooms.  We have been having issues on our wired and WIFI network and I suspect we may be having broadcast network storms so for this reason I h

We have 4 built in ceiling speakers (non-Sonos) in our basement - they are currently hooked up to a non-Sonos receiver/amp, which is connected to a turntable with a preamp setup.  How would I go about setting up those 4 speakers to Sonos?  I guess I am looking into 2 ideas: Is it possible to feed the current receiver/amp into Sonos so I can play the turntables over the Sonos system? Is it possible to connect the 4 wired speakers into Sonos, so I can play Sonos music to the hardwired legacy speakers?Any ideas are appreciated.  Thanks so much!

My Sonos One is connected and works fine (I can play TuneIn stations, Alexa answers all questions I ask, etc.) but when I ask to play something from Spotify it says “The device is offline”.I tried to deregister and re-register, delete ans re-install the Alexa app and the Sonos app on my phone, but nothing changed.Another voice command that doesn’t work is when I’m playing music (doesn’t matter if it’s from TuneIn or Spotify) is the “Stop” command. My Sonos chimes but the music doesn’t stop.

What is the command to get Google assistant to play music from Sonos Music library.I know I can play via the app, but is it not possible to use voice commands?

Has anyone had any luck with longer hdmi cables?i tried a 20m long one, supposedly high speed, but it doesn’t work.

I just got the Sonos Arc. Is there a way to change bass/treble/etc? I do not see an Equalizer menu in my Sonos app..this is my first Sonos device, so no other pairings for now

Hi all,I’ve just purchased the Sonos Amp and a pair of B&W 607 S2 Anniversary’s for front speakers.  I’m ok with that for now but would consider adding a pair of rears at some stage.  My understanding is that the Amp that is driving the B&Ws can also send rear signals to rears as long as they have their own amplification. However, my preference would be for the rears for be completely wireless and the Move doesn’t support surround sound.  Will the Sonos Amp send rear signals to any other wireless speakers such as the Bluesound Pulse’s?

I’d like to pull the trigger on an Arc, upgrading from a Playbar, but am terrified it will screw everything up.  We have a large Sonos system still on S1 due to a Connect and some Play5 Gen 1s.  I’d be happy to take the step up to the Arc, and go S2, but reading conflicting reports about compatability with my QE65Q80R.  If I take the leap there’s no going back, and it might be a total waste of time, money etc.

Is it not possible to get the three pop ups OFF my app permanently?  Add Voice Assistance. NO. Try Sonos HD. NO. Tune one of my SL’s. NO.I have to clear these out every single time I open the app.  Can’t Sonos remember my choices???

Hi Sonos comm ,    I have a Sonos 2 app with various speakers and Sonos boost, so all reasonably modern.    Looking to use a pioneer DJ 200 mixing deck , it would appear I could plug this into a Sonos Connect gen 2 (not 1 ) to incorporate my existing Sonos speakers ?  Want to try and keep the cost down as I know there is now the port etc , just looking at a short cut with compatible Sonos products as I can buy the connect fairly cheap (£200) off eBay ? Just checking b4 i buy the connect gen 2 , would seem fairly straight 4wd , this is for home fun only , not professional,  thanks peeps 🙏🙏 Tom

It’s well known in these circles that the Beam, Playbar and Playbase won’t play DTS soundtracks, and the best we can hope for in this situation is a down-mixed stereo output.  I’ve also read that Blu-ray players that convert DTS to DD on the fly are like hens teeth - the lists I’ve seen a contain a few Samsung and Oppo players only. So, how come I’m getting DD5.1 out of my Beam (reported by the app, and by my ears) from plain DTS and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks? My setup is: Sony UBP-M800 Mk2 UHD bluray player Sony AG9 TV Beam connected via the TV’s eARC connection Sub and Play:1 rears bonded to Beam There’s no fancy trickery or other boxes, switches, etc.  It’s simply bluray player to TV to Beam, all via HDMI. To get sound from the Beam, I had to make one change to the M800’s audio settings:  “Digital Audio Output” = PCM.  The other option (“Auto” = bitstream in most cases I believe) gives silence.  All other audio settings on the player (and there aren’t many) are at the default.

Hi,Just joined the Sonos community. My system is Arc + 2 x One SLs + Sub (Gen 3). Love the sound! For HT, I have a Sony ubp-x800m2 UltraHD player → LG 65 inch CX OLED TV (2020 model). The LG is connected to the Arc via HDMI 2 (the eArc port). My issue seems to be a common one - trying to get DTS tracks converted to multichannel PCM for the Sonos Arc.For testing, I’m using the Die Hard UltraHD blu-ray which has English DTS-HD MA.SettingsSony     Digital Audio Out: PCM (rather than bitstream)LG     eArc: ON     HDMI Audio Input: Bitstream     Digital Audio Output: Pass Through Using the above settings, I get no sound. The Sony says its output is LPCM 5.1, but the Sonos app says Silence. When I switch Digital Audio Output to Auto, I get sound, but the Sony (and Sonos) now says LPCM 2.0 / stereo PCM. It’s almost as if the LG is telling the Sony to downconvert to LPCM 2.0 from 5.1 when using Auto. Anyone have any suggestions? I’ve read elsewhere that some people, using consoles like Xbox, hav

I have two x Sonos One devices.  Everything was fine until songs started repeating.  Or, sometimes we skip songs.  Why?  All devices and apps are updated.  I am using the Sonos Spotify app.  If I use Spotify directly but then try to play through the Sonos, which has always been a fight, nothing happens: the song shows as playing but literally nothing else happens.

I just set up my Sonos Beam and One SL Speakers (2) for surround sound. The Beam is connected to my Samsung HDMI Arc output. When I play Apple TV or Spotify the surround sound works fine. The surround sound does not work when watching regular cable. The sound just plays through the Beam. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone! Hope you’re staying safe…My setup consists of a Sonos Arc connected to a HDMI port (eARC) of a Sony X900H TV (65”) and an Apple TV 4K connected to another HDMI port of the same TV, but my question is: Am I getting Dolby Atmos when I watch content on Apple TV 4K? Do I need a receiver?

I have a Sonos one sl and recently just set up a Sonos beam in the same room. But when I try to pair or bond these, it’s says I need to have 2x Sonos one’s in order to set up the surround. however I am happy with just the single Sonos one sl. Why won’t it simply allow me to bond/ connect with this one on its own. Would I need to buy another Sonos one sl simply to connect it together.

I have 2 speakers: one SL and one. These are surround speakers with my Beam and Sub. This is my home cinema audio when listening TV. Is-it possible to have these 2 speakers in a stereo pair only when listening the music? Is-it possible to balance one of these speakers?Is-it possible to listen music only with the Sub and the 2 speakers in stereo without the Beam? I have the S2 app and there is no way to balance the left or the right speaker nor any indication that they are paired in stereo. All of my speakers and Sub are  attached to the Beam within the same room name.

My sub disappeared from my system so I switch it off and back in and it connected right away but the sub, although connected, isn’t working. I tried switching it off and on and disconnecting then reconnecting it but still, the play bar works fine but sounds crap without the sub

After upgrading to desktop controller version 12.2.2, several of my old Sonos components are no longer visible, and can therefore not be used with the controller. They work fine with the old sonos controller version. Is this Sonos way of trying to force me to throw the older hardwre components away and buy new ones. The old ones works fine. Not even giving me a choice or a heads up when installing the new software controller. Very unethical and immoral.  Is this correct Sonos? I hope I’m wrong! I’m aware that new hardware features may not work with old software. Fine, but not supporting old hardware in new software is almost criminal. What if General Motors made their old cars stop working after a software update..?? Best,-tk

Still confused about directional hdmi cable with a soundbar. Should the arrows point from the tv’s earch hdmi port to the Sonos Arc, or from the Sonos Arc to the tv. Some people say the tv is the source for sound so the arrows should point from tv to soundbar. Others say the hdmi port on the Sonos Arc is an output so the arrows should point from the soundbar to the tv. So confused.

Ok, so I got a new TV yesterday, an LG CX. I am coming from a B7. My understanding of earc, Sonoe ARC etc are not great. Obviously I was using compressed audio all the time with the B7 give it only has ARC and not eARC. I am now confused about what I should set my Xbox Series X audio output to - Dolby Atmos Bitstream, which does give Atmos on the Sonos ARC, but there’s the sync delay. Or select one of the uncompressed sources. When I select uncompressed 5.1 or 7.1, I get intermittent sound from the Sonos. My Nintendo Switch works fine with 5.1 Uncompressed PCM. What’s the best setting for audio on my Xbox? Is it still Bitstream Atmos (Does the ARC support uncompressed Atmos?) Otherwise everything else is working fine, after a lot of fiddling.

I have a pair of Play 1 speakers - part of a surround system.  All of the speakers in my house are connected (every room of the house) and are showing up on my app but one of my Play 1 speakers no longer has sound?  The pause and volume level buttons work on the system but no sound from the speaker.  was working fine last week?
