Surround Not Working with Cable

I just set up my Sonos Beam and One SL Speakers (2) for surround sound.

The Beam is connected to my Samsung HDMI Arc output. When I play Apple TV or Spotify the surround sound works fine. The surround sound does not work when watching regular cable. The sound just plays through the Beam. Any suggestions?

I think you helped me figure it out. One of the sound settings on the TV was not set for surround. Seems to be working now. Thanks.

Have you looked at your cable box’s audio settings? Make sure it is set to Dolby Digital and not PCM or Stereo.

Hi - my cable box only has a “Digital” option for Audio. It is set on Digital but still only playing through the Beam and not surround.

What model cable box are you using? Do you get no audio from the surround speakers from every TV channel?

The box is a Humax Spectrum 200. The audio only comes through the Beam on all channels.

Is the cable box connected to your TV with an HDMI cable? If so, is there a setting on your TV for that specific HDMI port?

There cable box is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. There isn’t specific settings for the HDMI port, just the general TV settings.

What are the other audio options other than “Digital” on your cable box?

Can you connect the cable box to your TV via optical?
