My 5 Sonos speakers all play music from my network share except my new Sonos Play.My new speaker will play music from Spotify without problems. Any ideas, regards Adam
My gen1 Roam has become unresponsive. None of the buttons on top respond and the on/off button is also unresponsive and no lights come on. It is kept on the Sonos base charger when not in use (the charger plug supplies 5v, but I can’t tell if the base pad is working). If I plug a charging cable in the rear socket I get a red light at the bottom but none of the buttons respond. If it wasn’t nailed to the perch would it have fallen off?
Where can I purchase a replacement hanging strap for white Sonos Play? Also, any upcoming mounting accessories in the works?
When the speaker is charging a flashing white light appears, but as soon as the cable is unplugged the light goes off and nothing happens no matter how long the power button is held.I hadn't used the speaker for several years and charged it for many hours because of that, but it doesn't respond to anything - neither when charging nor without.
Hi all. I hope you can help. I have had a Sonos system successfully for ages, and recently added a Roam SL. on set up all goes ok, and works for a while, then it decides to drop off the system. It is visible in the app, but whenever I try to play something it states “connection timed out” and I can’t see the volume slider - just a thin white line. i have sky broadband with a deco mesh system. I have a Sonos product plugged directly into the router.
Hello everyone I’m new to the Sonos community and would like some guidance before posting my issue.I’m currently experiencing a problem with my Sonos setup after recent changes/updates, and I’m not sure if it’s a settings issue, network issue, or something else.Has anyone else faced similar problems after updates, and what steps helped you resolve it?I’ve already tried basic troubleshooting like restarting the system and checking my network, but the issue is still there.Any advice or direction would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance!
hi i have a sonos move 2 6 months old but its never been able to charge via the base usb c is fine but not the base ive just bought a new power supply for it 45w 5v incase that was faulty i have an orange light come on for ten seconds then it goes off as it should but still no charge any help or advise please
I just found one of my Roam 2 speakers was so hot it melted the charging cord where it plugs into the speaker. I searched and found this issue reported in August of 2025. Has anyone had this experience recently?
I just purchased three ROAM SLs that were listed as “new” on a big box electronic store website but sold through a third party “marketplace seller”. While attempting setup on one unit I kept encountering numerous errors (Errors 36 and 1032/1002 on mobile, 888 on the windows desktop app...), all of which suggested a hangup in software/firmware updates. Ok, no sweat I thought - we’ll just perform a reset per community instructions. However, when the time came to unplug the unit to perform the reset, the Sonos just blacked out. I thought maybe the battery fully depleted so I plugged it in to adequate charger per Sonos instructions - 1 hour, 2 hours, overnight. No matter what, the unit would only turn on if plugged in - and even then, no sound from the unit itself. That had me thinking perhaps I had 1 bad unit - but this exact issue presented on each of the 3 Roams I purchased. To be clear: (1) no evidence of shipping damage; (2) no evidence of used or “open box” status - everything look
Hi, i have a Sonos Roam 2 and sometimes the Sonos Roam 2 is out of reach. So if the speaker powers off i have to go reach for it and turn it on, so i asked Sonos to add a power on/off setting from the app. Does anyone else think this would be useful? It is annoying when the speaker is out of reach and you either have to power it on or off. Therefore i think this would be very useful.
Why does my Macbook Air not see my Sonos device
My Move won't enter Bluetooth pairing mode when I press the Bluetooth button on rear. I do hear the tone, but no blinking blue light and it doesn't show in my available devices list. It worked fine until I added eeros wifi ext devices to my existing system. I also have 2 Arcs & 2 Subs, connected to same network, working fine. Any ideas? Thx! Steve
One of my Move ( not Move 2 ) speakers has an alternating orange / white status light. This Move is part of a stereo pair. Both speakers reside on the charging ring when not used outdoors. The charging light is not lit indicating a full charge. Looking in the app both Move speakers show and are fully charged. Both Move speakers are on build 76070. Turning the faulty Move off then back on does not change the status light issue. No sound from offending Move.I will go through the process of calling Sonos and if recommended send a diagnostics. Just thought it would be good to check with the community first. EDIT: Just went back into the room where the Move stereo pair resides. The status light is now solid white as it should be. Head scratcher. Hopefully is stays that way.
There was an existing thread for this open issue but I cannot add to because its been closed as “answered” (??) - found here: The good news is that the developers of Airfoil reached out to me to inform me that the latest Sonos update has finally fixed the issue. I updated by Move2 via the iPhone Sonos app to 84.00.34 and tested the Move2 from Airfoil - Im happy to report it is now working and stable for me.So looks like as suspected, it was a Sonos software issue all along.https://support.sonos.com/en/article/release-notes-sonos-app-updates
Sonos “Play” goes to sleep when not being used to conserve the battery. Is there any method remotely awakening it rather than having to push the “on” button the the speaker?
Ever since I saw the strap on the back of the Play, I thought it would be convenient to be able to hang the Play from a hook. If you’re commonly using the Play in your backyard, or anywhere really that’s not it’s charging home, and don’t want place on a surface, a hook is a good option. The main problem with this is that the strap is 90% degrees the wrong direction. Using that with typical hook is going to have the Play facing the wrong direction, or if against a wall, twist the strap in a way that puts unnecessary strain. Adding a carabiner, or something similar, between the Paly and Hook would fix this issue. However, all the carabiner’s I’ve seen have a curved surface. Maybe not an issue, but that would likely mean the strap doesn’t lay evenly in the carabiner, and puts more strain on the edges of the Play strap rather than evenly across the entire strap. Perhaps not an issue, and the strap won’t eventually tear, however, I’m wondering if there is a better device out that can b

Every few weeks my Sonos move needs a factory reset for it to work. It’s very annoying having to wait to reset it every time I want to use it. It stays on the charger when I’m not using it
Is sonos move 2 charging base station compatible for sonos move 1 too?
Is it possible to connect the new sonos play via Bluetooth with the Samsung freestyle video projector?
A quand l'enceinte mobile multifonctions Sonos bluetooth qui puisse aussi se connecter à l'autoradio d'un véhicule, pour en améliorer le son ou simplement mettre du son à l'arrière d'un véhcule qui n'en à pas ?
i’ve had a roam for a few years now (i have a number of other sonos products that i love) and it has been a real disappointment: constantly disconnecting; alexa stops working; battery saver stops working and will die if i don’t turn it off; sound is sometimes good, sometimes bad. I’m sure it has heard profanity more than it has heard instructions… i’ve contacted customer support a few times, but at this point, it takes so long to go through all of the resetting and adding it back again, and then a few months later it’s doing something again. at this point i might just give up. anyone else with their roam acting like a lemon?
Just a quick first impression on the Sonos Play. Yours may be different based upon your room and hearing. Testing as a Stand-Alone speakerDon’t right off the bat, make a comparison to a Move2. The Move2 will always out-shine the Play. Set the Play up and listen to a few of your favorite test tracks. Be sure to turn on TruePlay tuning. After a few minutes of listening the Play will adjust to the room acoustics. After a while (in my testing) you’ll enjoy the Play for what it is…a portable speaker that performs better than the Sonos Roam series. I sat about 8 feet from the speaker which exhibited a stereo effect depending upon the track. There is low-end…again depending upon the track. Overall (IMO) in terms of frequency response the Play has decent vocals but may be a bit bright for some. A/B testing against the Move series (in my case the Move2). Suffice it to say the Move2 wins hands-down.Testing as a Stereo PairThe Play produces a pleasant sound stage with good separation. I have a vi
Hello - Got the new Sonos Play speaker - it would be nice to have the battery percentage appear in more places in the app - it’s hard to navigate to find that info.
Hi,I bought a Move 2 recently and it's a great speaker. However, I noticed when switched off (long press on the back button until it chimes and disappears from app) it loses 2% charge a day. I contacted support who initially decided to replace the unit. The second unit arrived but it's behaving the same way. They're now saying it's expected. Weird.Considering 3 hours of playtime at volume 40 uses about 10% of the battery that means, when it should be off, it's losing about 35mins of play time...a day.I intend to use the speaker when outside gardening or away from the house. I don't want it sitting on a charger all the time, nor do I want the battery totally drained, neither of which are healthy for batteries. I assume the official line will be something like "even when powered off is still doing some stuff" but why? That's what sleep mode is for. Its a portable speaker. If I turn it off it should be off and and drain levels should match what you would normally expect with a rechargeabl
