I only get surround sound when I watch a freeview channel direct through my Sony tv. When I watch a programme through my BT box or my Xbox, I only get the sound from the sonos beam, not the 2 surround speakers. Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?Thank-you. 

Help please we are setting up a beam gen 1 and I can’t connect it to our system( we have 4 other devices). It’s connected to Spotify it works with the tv just can’t join our system to link it. It’s currently plugged in with Ethernet cable. 

When listening to music on the speakers via Amazon HD Music using the S2 app on the desktop to cue a playlist, the tv level slider does not change the volume of the playbar. It moves but nothing happens. The music level slider does alter the volume of the surrounds. I am unclear about this as I thought the tv level slider should control the volume of the playbar. The music level slider does not alter the volume of the playbar. When watching television, the tv level slider works to control the volume of the playbar and surrounds at the same time. Is this how it is meant to work?  

I am about to purchase a new Samsung television . My current television has a Playbar and a gen. 1 Sub. connected . All are functioning as expected. My questions is: Should I uninstall these two Sonos devices before I connect them to the new television or is the set-up a simple “plug and play” procedure ?Thank you.  Mod Edit: Edited for accuracy - “Playbar” instead of “soundbar”

I was happy and content.  My system was a pair of play 1s stereo paired in one room and a zp90 running into my hifi in tv room.Then I got a gen 1 beam second hand.  Of course I had to bring the play 1s into the tv room to check out the surround, and yes I enjoyed it.  Problem is that the layout of the room prevents me from leaving the surrounds behind the couch, which is okay because I don't need surround often, maybe once a week.  So in normal circumstances I would leave the play 1s beside the beam on the tv console. In that case it is pointless to have my hifi/zp90 there as it's just extra boxes. So to the point, I probably will get a sub mini in the future, and I am pretty sure that a sub mini and pair of play 1s would satisfy me music wise but believe that the music/full range option in the a poor substitute for a true 2.1 setup.  I think that it's terrible to have all this functionality and yet not have the option to have two user presets for your Sonos HT setup. I’d like to buy an ARC with Sub and two one sl as surround speaker . Is it possible , when desired, move the surround speaker to a different room and use them to play music , while still using the soundbar as a tv speaker ? Also in doing this would it be possible to use the two One sl independently in different rooms with different music ? Thx, E

why my rear speakers throw more bass that my sub? my sub is all the way to level 10+...anybody got this issue?

I'm at my wit's end here.Every so often I have to restart my WiFi router. When that happens, both my surrounds (SLs) disconnect from the Sonos group and it takes me literally hours to reconnect them.I had to reset the router today and I've spent the last two hours trying to reconnect the surrounds - as yet I've been unable to do this despite reading every guide available.Why on Earth do they lose connection to the group? That's just basic stuff and, in my view, a fundamental flaw in the Sonos ecosystem.Right now, I want to throw the whole system out the window and buy Samsung's top dog system!Surely it shouldn't be this difficult and stressful? Can anyone give me a simple fix to sort this mess out?

Is it possible to connect a Beam & Playbar in the same room?

2015 Sony Bravia 4K tv. Has ARC but not eARC. Latest generation Apple TV 4K only does 2 channel audio to my Sonos Arc. Any way to get 5.1 multichannel Dolby 5.1? I know Atmos is not possible without eARC. I read somewhere that I need to pass through HDMI input on my TV, but my Tv does not allow me to do that. Thanks!

New user here.  I bought a Sonos Arc, Sub, Amp and a pair of Sonance Mag8r for our rear surrounds in a Den/Home Theater setup.  I now learned that the Mag 8r’s do not work with Trueplay.  Am I better off exchanging them for a pair of architectural 6 1/2” speakers and use the 8r’s in the kitchen for stereo speakers.  If I did that, I’m guessing it will work off of the amp using a separate zone for the kitchen? Thanks for the help

Hi. Does anyone have recommendations for a wall fitted TV bracket that would also hold the Beam (gen 1)?  The TV is a slimline LG 43" and I need the bracket to extend at least 30 cm, rotate and tilt.Any thoughts?ThanksBowles

I had to unplug my play bar for about a week. When I hooked it back up I can stream iTunes but it will not give me tv audio. I check my tv settings and they are set to the Sonos. I have never had problems before. I checked all my connections, they appear secure. When I use the remote the indicator white light comes on the play bar when I volume down but it does not respond when I volume up. The TV volume bar shows the volume up is working, when I switch to tv speakers the TV plays audio correctly. Any ideas? 

I just bought a new place and want to replace a Yamaha RX-A720 with 2 Sonos AMPS. I have 5 wired speakers for surround sound in the living room and 2 additional zones (1 outside and 1 in Bedroom). How do I set this up for surround sound and multiple zones. Can I stream music through the surround speakers.Thanks for your help. 

I have surround sound (not Sonos) wired into my amp. My tv Samsung QLED is connected via HDMI ARC port to Amp. Sound is working fine w tv along both remote controls for volume (Comcast TV/Samsung remote). My question is, why can’t I toggle the sound from my surround sound to my TV output?? When I changed it on my tv, it goes back to surround sound after a few seconds. Sometimes we don’t want surround sound on.. any help would he appreciated

Hi.I have recently had to move my router due to (minor) building work which is now complete. The new router location is permanent. As a result of this situation I can no longer listen to sound from my Sonos setup and have to rely on the TV speakers which, obviously, is inferior! My Arc is connected to my network but the Arc, Sub and 2x One SL speakers are separated into 3 separate groups. I have tried unplugging my Sonos products, waiting for a short time and plugging them all back in again and also searching for new products via Bluetooth but with no success. This is what I see on the Sonos app:  Thanks in advance for any help 🍻 

Sound bar working not base or both shelf speakers.  How do i get them to work

I have the arc / sub gen 3 and two SL rears /im around 19ft away from the arc.. can I make it louder than the back two SL speakers (surround set up?) what’s the best way to achieve this?

Hello Everyone,I finally received my sub mini after a little while as I live in eastern europe. Hardreset has been necessary to detect the sub mini then everything was smooth. sub mini added to Beam + 2 SL one in surround mode.Then I started playing music at a very decent volume (I’m working from home and kids were around) and the sub mini started crackling at level 0… I played anykind of tunes from deezer (rap, dubstep, dnb, rock) same results.I gave it a try with a movie in dolby 5.1 (starwars) the very same.. I have no idea what to do.I’m truly desperate, I was so impatient and enthousiatic but this is now ruined.I checked the membranes, they look fine. I tried to call the sonos support service (I speak english and french) but 60 minutes waiting time with extra charge isn’t acceptable for me. I tried the chat, it’s still “pending” after 30 minutes.Is there anyone with the same issue? What could be the reason? Should I return the sub mini?

My sonos Sub will no longer power on? My sub was working fine all then randomly cut off.Change power outlet as well still no response from the sub. Completely dead, as if no power running to it. At this point I'm confuse on this issue.Could you please help?  

I was so happy with the 14.18 release.  All the previous issues were fixed.  I did not want to update to 14.19 but the system would not allow me to add any new Sonos one SL until I performed the update.  Now the Sonos one in another room outplays my arc, sub, two ones in the living room.  This updated affected something again for the arc with surround configs.   We should have a way to stay on a firmware we are happy with and not be forced to update to add speakers.  Now I lost the sound I loved when they fixed it in the 14.18 version.

  Hi I have 2 tv's on the ground floor of my house. I have a main TV which has a beam, sub and 2 ones which work well. I want to know if I can add a beam and 2 ones to the 2nd TV and obviously work independently of the main TV (and how I would do that) 

Since I purchased two IKEA symfonisk devices, I have not been able to set the volume of my Sonos Beam Gen 2 correctly. When I had only the Beam, I was able to control the volume in increments of 1, from 0 to X. Now I can only set the volume of the Beam in increments of 5, for example if I manually move the slider in the Sonos Iphone app to 12 it will set itself back down to 10 a second later. If I try 14 it rounds up to 15 and so on - it also does this when using my TV remote 😤This issue occurs when the Beam is playing ungrouped, it doesn’t seem right that I am suffering a significant decline in functionality just because I have two other Sonos devices elsewhere in my place 🙄Any help woud be much appreciated as this issue is extremely irritating!😖

Hi, apologies if I have missed it but I cannot see my exact question.  I have today got a Sonos Beam 2nd Gen and have connected it to my Philips Android TV.  It connects great and I get true Dolby Atmos sound when that is the only HDMI cable connected. the moment I connect any other HDMI cables to the TV (i.e. blu ray player) the sound switches back to the TV speakers.  Has anyone else had this problem and can they advise me how to resolve it?Thanks
