two sonos playbars side by side can this be done ?

The Visio TV is located in my backyard bar area.  I have many Sonos speakers throughout my home so wanted to buy the Ray to couple with this TV and also join my Sonos family of speakers extending the music to the outdoor bar. I have been unable to get the TV audio to play through the Ray so seeking some community input. It’s an inexpensive and older TV but it does offer optical out. There are only a few settings on the TV to alter the audio output but I haven’t been able to find the combination to make this happen. I am using an Apple TV 4K gen 1 as my only source to the TV. I have not yet tried a different optical cable so a bad cable, which came with the Ray, is a possibility.  Here are the TV and Apple TV setup options that may/may not be in play for this:Vizio D43-D2 TV Settings TV speakers on/off - I set to offDigital Audio Out - PCM or Bitstream. I have a Samsung 2022 The Frame TV and Sonos ARC. After casting music to the Sonos from an app like pandora, and then disconnecting from the Sonos, I cannot hear audio through the TV. It requires a full power-cycle for the Samsung to recognize that the Sonos is connected over eARC. Has anybody seen this? I feel like the default behavior should be the eARC link is the highest priority sound source. Thanks,

Hello Everyone,I’ve owned the Arc for about two months now, I’ve noticed at times in order to properly hear what's being displayed on the TV I have to crank the volume high. I’ve tried everything, from resetting the Arc to changing the settings in the app and the TV. ​​​​​​The TV that I’m using the Arc with is the Sony A90J. I had the beam before and NEVER experienced this issue. Thank You

I have the Ray bar & 2 x Play: 1's in surround set up and there seems to be some kind of glitch when i use my remote to turn the volume down. I've repeated the remote setup process a few times & still get the same issue, if i use the volume down button on the remote, the sound goes off completely, if I tap the volume up button the sound returns.

Lately my rear surround speakers (Sonos One SL’s) start making a gurgling or bubbling sound (it's hard to describe) after watching TV for a few hours. I have a Sonos Arc connected via Ethernet cable, and my Sub and the One SLs use Wi-Fi.Either unplugging the two One’s or my Arc momentarily fixes the problem, but this is happening multiple times a week lately.BTW, originally my Arc was using Wi-Fi also, but I recently changed to Ethernet to see if it helped.The Arc has a Static address in my router, the rest of the system use dynamic IPs, but they never change. The speakers are in the same room as the router (Asus AX86U). I’ve changed the SonosNet Channel to 1 which is the furthest from my router’s signal. The audio comes from the HDMI ARC of a Sony XBR-75X900E. Has anyone else experienced this or have suggestions to fix?

Hello,I’m having an issue when I try to add my Sub (wifi) to my Playbar (wired with wifi disabled). The iOS app chugs away for a while, then says, “There was a problem adding your Sub. Check the network connection and make sure your product is powered on.”However, when I exit that screen, it shows the Sub paired to the Playbar – I can turn it on/off, manage its EQ, etc. However, when I play something through the Playbar, no sound comes out of the Sub.I’ve submitted diagnostics 1420622505. I have a Arc, sub, and two SL One grouped for surround sound.  After the update of Sonos voice assistant every couple days the sound bar stops playing Sonos Radio or Deezer and does not show up in the Sonos app.  It is not clear but the OS might be rebooting and then connects back.  I had the same thing with a SL one that the SonosNet is started from.I removed the Sonos voice assistance from all of the speakers to see if this helps but does not. This happens when streaming music vs watching TV.

Watching Stranger Things on Netflix which states it’s an atmos soundtrack but beam Gen 2 says it’s Dolby digital plus 5.1 ?LG 65BX oled connected to beam via earc TV set to pass through, other Netflix atmos content plays as atmos via beam strange ? or am I missing something ?

I have HiSense TV (model: h50n5300) - I have surround sound set up and when playing music it is working as expected, however when switching to TV the sound is only outputted through the Ray soundbar. The TV supports 5.1 surround sound with RAW and PCM audio settings.

I would like to play music (both radio and turn table) on my Arc soundbar as well as my One SL speakers.  Here is what I tried and it has not gone well:  First I purchased a Port and a receiver.  The receiver I purchased did not have a Digital Audio Input, which the port instructions say you need.  I then purchased a Denon receiver that does have a digitial audio input but you have to hook it up to a tv to set it up.  I just want to play radio and use my turntable from the receiver to the soundbar/speakers I have set up.  How do I do this?  What receiver should I use.  Thanks for your help!

I have a Roku ultra that streams to my Samsung tv.  I use an HDMI to push sound from my tv to my sonos beam.  I have a sub connected wirelessly to the beam.  My issue is that I get consistent distortion during low range “ominous” scenes during action movies, Stranger Things, etc.  I’m stumped as to how I resolve.  No issues when streaming music.  I’m guessing I’m missing something simple but I can’t seem to figure this out!  Any help appreciated.  

Hi Everyone, I bought a Beam (Gen1) less than 2 years ago. By end of 2021 I added a Sub (Gen3). They have been working fine for some time, but a couple months ago Beam started disappearing from the app.Music stops playing, then, in the System info, Beam (sometimes Beam and Sub both) appears without any info, then Beam disappears completely and I get the message: “Sub (?+Sub) - Device is not configured” ” instead of “Living room (+Sub) - Beam” in the System-products menu. After some time, just few mins, the Beam appears again and starts working (till next time).A few additional info: this happens only using streaming service (Spotify, Amazon Music, Sonos Radio). It never happens when playing TV or streaming from phone or music library (NAS).At first it happened randomly. It could work fine for 30-45mins or more. Recently, this happens every few mins. I just purchased a new LG C1 65 and Sonos arc SL from Costco. And I hooked the Sonos arc with the original HDMI cable to LG C1 HDMI-4 (all four HDMI ports support ARC/eARC). But somehow Sonos app shows ‘Can not connect to LG speaker’. I have turn on the following options for LG C1:Sound out: HDMI ARC HDMI input audio format: Bitstream Digital sound out: pass through eARC: Enabled  Simplink (CEC): On

I have been using a Beam 2 by connecting my PC and PS5 through a HDMI Switch that also had optical out. I used the optical out with the Sonos converter to HDMI and al worked well.I have just upgraded my monitor to have HDMI 2.1 so I can run my PS5 @ 120Hz. Connecting everything up the same way I am not getting any sound. I am assuming that is because of I have introduced HDMI 2.1 or at least that is the only difference from my original set up.I have searched high and low for a HDMI 2.1 switch with either eARC or optical out thinking that will solve the problem but i cant find anything.Has anyone else had the same problem and if so have you managed to resolve it.

I have just bouight a Sonos Ray and set up surround sound ith my exisiting pair of Play 1s.I would like to tweak the volume of the speaker indiviually, in particular make the Play 1s a tad louder in than what they are now in the Surround set up, is that possible?

Been searching through this topic and finding nothing that helps.    Bought a new ARC.   Attached to my house wifi.  Robust system over Cat6A cable with multiple access points.    Took a working sub and two One’s from another system.  Factory reset them.   Added them successfully to the same room as the Arc.  But NOTHING will connect to the ARC.   Wifi is. enabled.  I have restarted the ARC.  Settings on TV correct (HDMI to Arc input, etc.).  Restarted TV.    Nothing.   Maddening.    Please help.    FYI, I cannot connect with an ethernet to anything.   Router is in the basement in a cabinet with other equipment.   Thanks.

What moron in Marketing came up with the concept that, moving forward, all new Sonos hardware would be Sonos 2 compatible only?  It had to be Marketing, because no Tech weenie would ever do this.I have Sonos speakers throughout my house, 10 separate devices in all working seamlessly to provide high quality tunes in every room and outside.  But today, I purchased a Sonos Roam, only to find out that it was incompatible with my existing Sonos 1 system, and if I moved forward, I would be forced to have 2 separate Sonos 1 and 2 systems, neither of which will talk to each other, on my network.If my existing Playbar, which is paired with 2 ea S1 speakers dies, and I have to replace, am I out of luck?  I am not about to replace all my hardware, which would require a considerable investomet, for a mediocre outside speaker.Just f-ing unbelievable. 

I am about to wall mount my Sonos Arc using the Sonos wall mount. My electrician has layed a conduit channel within the wall for cables (power, HDMI and ethernet). However, for my preferred position of the TV and Arc, this conduit channel lies to the right of centre when looking at the arc from the front (approx 150mm from the right edge of the Arc). If the cables are brought out of the wall at this point, will it still be possible to connect them to the Arc at the insertion points further along the Arc, whilst using the wall mount, or will the cables get in the way or be visible? Cheers

I recently bought an Arc, two bookshelf speakers and a sub. I have it going through an 8k HDMI cable to my eArc port and eArc is turned on through the settings on the tv. When I try to play music or movies with atmos, it never says I’m getting atmos on my app. Please help. 

I have the Amp with Sonos ceiling speakers and the Beam G2.  When I try and play music from Spotify, it up mixes to some faux 2.1 signal and plays out the center channel using the surrounds rather than just playing music out the L & R channels from the Amp.  I am finding that once you add a center channel, it turns your amp and ceiling speakers into nothing more than an expensive rear surround speakers.   Is there a way to NOT use the center channel for music without having to reconfigure the entire system every time (remove surrounds)….like every normal AV receiver?

Hi All,I have got a Sonos Amp which is connected to some ceiling speakers in kitchen which I use for music only (in kitchen/outdoor area). I recently bought a Sonos Arc which I have connected to my LG B7 TV fire the HMDI Arc port. I was just wondering if there would be any benefit to connecting my AMP to my TV and then my Arc to my AMP? or even if thats possible. When money permits I am hoping to get Sub and surrounds etc over time also.  Main reason I ask is I seem to get Dolby 5.1 or 5.1 plus come through on Arc when I check sonos app, but never Dolby Atmos. possible its just what I am watching is not supporting atmos?ThanksGeoff

I purchased a Sonos Beam a few years ago and when it was connected to my very old Samsung Smart TV when I adjusted the volume up and down I saw volume control numbers on my TV.  When I upgraded my TV to a new Samsung Smart TV and connected my Sonos Beam the volume indicated on the left side of the screen does not show any volume level numbers, Just a Plus and Minus symbol.  Today, we had a very brief power outage and the TV displayed a picture while the Beam was still powering up and when I adjusted the volume I noticed that before the Beam was operational the TV had volume level numbers but once the Sonos powered up, it was back to Plus and Minus.  So obviously there’s something with the Sonos that’s controlling what the TV displays and what it doesn’t.  So my question is this..Is there a setting within the BEAM to that controlling the display that I can adjust so I can actually see the volume level? 

Hi,I set up a new Beam2 to an LG LCD tv via HDMI Arc. When I turn off TV and turn on again after about 5 seconds I get a  Sonos screen. I have to manually select the cable tv HDMI 2 input.  Only happens when I turn off and on TV.  Any suggestions?David
