Recently installed a Beam 2. Paired with a couple of Ones for home theater. Realized Samsung TV no longer displays closed captions.  I use a Firestick for streaming. Closed captions are enabled on both TV and Firestick. Any ideas if this is a Beam issue?Thanks.Larry Silvey

In my living room I currently have a stereo pair of Play5 for music. I'd like to add a Beam just for the TV. I'm also considering adding a sub. Is there any way to have the sub work with both the Play5s and the Beam depending on which is active? I'm assuming the answer is no, but I thought it would be worth asking.

I have read the thread on no Android integration for Trueplay, but I would hope spending 1500 on a system there would be a better solution than "borrow an iOS device from a friend"!  Especially after3+ years!!!  First thought, if it is a microphone issue, then standardize your system with 1 mic to calibrate your system with.  Yamaha, Marantz, Denon, Pioneer etc ALL provide a setup mic with their systems.  Microphones among iOS devices also differ, they are different from year to year and model to model.  So that verbage doesn't add up or holdmuch water.   Second, before the android bashing begins, I bet the cost of my system if the table was turned and it only worked on android and not iOS devices, there would be a loud outcry of Apple users, especially if told to go "borrow" an android from a friend.  Not that this will change anything but I got to express my opinion.  I'm the proud owner of a top-of-the-line Sonos system that is"Meh" at best.

Bonjour à tous la communauté.J'ai besoin de conseil svp.J'ai actuellement une sonos beam et deux sonos one sl en surround.Tout cet ensemble qd trouve sous ma TV pour la beam et derrière le canapé pour les deux sl.J'ai cependant un problème : lorsque je suis a table, nous aimons bien regarder les informations et malheureusement nous n'entendons pas super bien car celle ci n est pas dans l'axe des enceintes ce qui nous oblige a monter le volume assez fort et c'est parfois désagréable.Quel produit pourrais faire que je puisse "déporter" le son pour l'avoir proche de nous et ainsi éviter de monter le son.Merci de vos réponses et ou pistes.Cordialement.Flo.

Hi everyone. Hope you can help me, I have a small TV room with a gen 2 beam, sub mini & 2 era 100. I would like to add a Sonos arc but am worried that the room is too small, do I you think it would be OK? Many of thanks for all your help😀  

Hola a todos!La pregunta o el problema es el siguiente:Es posible utilizar unos auriculares inalámbricos teniendo conectada la ARC al televisor mediante eARC?En la práctica sucede que puedo emparejar los auriculares pero creo que al estar conectada la television por eARC, no deja cambiar la salida de audio (ni al sonido de la TV, ni a los auriculares). Desde el menú de la TV puedo cambiar en manual la salida, pero al momento vuelve a coger la ARC.Hay manera de solucionar esto?Muchas gracias y saludos!!!  

This topic is older and might not have the most up to date information. Please click here to see a list of more topics around the same subject. I am using a Sonus ARC Sonus Sub TV: LG 65UN6955ZUFWhen I turn on the TV using the Streaming box (AT&T) remote which also controls my Sonus ARC, there is no sound from the Sonus ARC.I then to power everything down, and then power up.  Then the sounds come from the Sonus ARC.I power down with the remote The following day I need to go through the same process to get sound out of the Sonus ARC. How can I fix this??

Beam connected to Sony tv with optical cable2 S1 s set as surround.worked great with cable tv. Not so much with streaming services ( YouTube tv, Hulu…)can I set the beam and 2 speakers up to broadcast the tv audio?Thanks,

HelloI have a Sonos Arc, 2 One’s and a sub set up at home for all-round TV and music use. They are connected to an LG GX LED and Apple TV.I’ve had this set up now now for over a year but can’t for the life of me get to audio settings that I am happy with. Something always sounds off.  If I compare it to listening to the same audio on my Airpods Max, everything always seems perfect and in balance with those and that’s what I am trying to get with my Sonos set-up.Can anyone advise on how to find the optimal settings for my own set up? Note: I already run trueplay every few months.Thanks in advance

After planning our Theatre Room with the best measurements I could given I have a raised 2nd row, it would be nice (during the tuning process) to be asked “How many rows do you have?”, “Where are your ERA 300’s placed (first row or second)”?, “How far away is the first row?”, “Ceiling height?”…...in the hopes that these questions would actively (physically gimballed) angle the up-firing ATMOS speakers so ATMOS effects can be disbursed for sound across both rows, or just the first row….Of course, by extension we’d have to run the tuning from the first row and the second row I assume. 

Hello! I have a Hisense Roku tv and the picture has gone out. I couldn’t connect my Sonos system to it anyway, after numerous calls to Sonos for help, so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. When I can afford to buy a new one, how will I know if it will be compatible with Sonos? I have the Playbar, Sub, and two satellite speakers, which I believe are called Sonos One SL.Would Sony tvs work with my system? What other brands?Thank you in advance for any help!

I moved into a townhouse with in-ceiling speakers pre-installed, so I purchased the newest Amp (as of late 2023) to power them. It works great for steaming music from my phone. It also works great via an HDMI connection between the amp and my TV.  I want to add a subwoofer and a soundbar so I can:1- Stream music from my phone and get in-ceiling + subwoofer (soundbar is a bonus, don’t care if it works)2- Watch TV/movies and get in-ceiling + sub + soundbar in terms of products I’m thinking about adding, I am thinking Beam 2 and Sub 3rd gen   will this setup work with what I’m trying to do?

Reproduczco peliculas desde Disney plus donde se indica que son Atmos, pero en APP Sonos aparece Dolby muticanal PCM 5.1.¿que debo mirar para conseguir ver que recibe Atmos el Beam (2 gen)?HDMI configurado en e-ARC, y no está la posibilidad de hacer passtrough en las opciones de sonido HDMI la TV.Gracias¡¡¡¡ Daniel

I got Sonos Arc and Sub under my TV, but I lack a rear/surround sound. So I consider buying Sonos Era 300. What do you think is the best placement for it?Thought about 3 options (pictures attached). Not sure I need 2 Eras though..What do you think?Let me know if you got another idea..Thanks!

Would you so kind as to help mi with the following issues as I can't find answers quickly.And I still prefer to seek support form the source :-)I tested and bought a Sonos Arc last week and it works well but I can't decide where to putit to work best. My "indoor cinema" is a retractable screen (3 x 2.5 m) anda BenQ W2700 projector (photos).This screen is perforated, which means it isacoustically "transparent" (but probably not completely). And, the basic issue is that thescreen (rolled out from the ceiling) has its lower edge separated from the floor by 44.5 cmand the distance from the wall to the screen plane is 29 cm.I have three options for installing Sonos Arc:- behind the screen, on the wall (1 m from the floor, "height" of the heads of seated "cinema" viewers)- on the wall, under the screen (40 cm from the floor)- on the wall under the screen 44.5 cm from the floor, on a boom eliminating the distance of 29 cmWhich solution is the best from the acoustics point of view?

hi just touching on this which im sure has already been asked plenty of times, but can we just get dts hd and dts x already it seems crazy to me to think a system that can cost up to and over 1500 hasnt the ability to play these modern formats, when you could pick up a standard av receiver for about 300 pound which would support all the mentioned formatsI have found myself more times than enough now sitting down to watch a film and simply getting mute audio just because it is in dts hd or dts x and quite alot of the time this is when i have friends and family over so it isnt a good look for the sonos brand that it cant produce sound for these types of movies or tv showsit is somnething that could quite easily be achieved since yous went and enabled dts standard after not supporting it, i feel if yous want to be seen as the go to soundbars yous then have to make sure its the go to for audio formats also which currently it isnt dont get me wrong the sonos eco system and products are fant

I would like the Sonos ARC to get some sort of EQ adjustment also a way of manually changing the centre channel output volume. I find this to be very useful on other soundbar set ups. For me the ARCs weakness is the dialogue it can be too quiet and hard to hear voices, you then turn volume up and the overall sound is too loud, a way of manually adjusting this would be great.  Yes I have done triplet many time, used speech enhancement and latest software done many different adjustments and never been happy with it.so Sonos please give us this.

I have the Arc, Sub and Era 300 connected to my LG for surround cinema sound, would I notice the difference if I added Sonos Amp with a second sub?I love watching movies as close to cinema sound i can get on Sonos. 

Hi. I'm a Sonus system newbie and new to the forum as well. I'm just looking for a little advice on the best state to leave a Sonus system in when it's not being used. We have a new home theater  system consisting of an LG OLED tv, Sonos ARC, Sub & Era 100's for surround sound.My wife, or I, will very frequently use blue tooth headphones to watch tv so as not to disturber the other. In order to use the BT headphones I have disable both HDMI-CEC and eARC on the tv. With HDMI-CEC & eARC disabled the status LED on the Sub and Era's remain white as long as Sub Audio and Surround Audio are left enabled on the Sonos app. If I disable the Sub & Surround Audio on the Sonos app, the LED on both starts a slow green flash.I know a white LED means the device is powered and ready to use and the slow green flash just means the devise is disabled in the Sonos app. My question: is there a recommended state for the devices in when not in use? Does one state consume more power than the other

If I have the tv/sonos on all day by the evening I have to turn the volume up a lot.

Hi - I’m planning a construction project in my house and part of it includes re-doing our TV area. It’s a small area - around 12’ x 8’. I’m thinking about doing a setup with an Arc, Sub, and 2 ceiling speakers for rear surround via AMP. I had a few questions about this setup.How would this zone be used if I want to listen to music on it instead of TV? Specifically w/ regards to the surrounds. Will the AMP for the surrounds and the SUB be linked to the ARC and act as one zone, whether for TV or music? Or is each component like a separate assignable room? I’m trying to figure out how to get this space to work best for both TV and music. How does the TV etc recognize the configuration for it’s output? Does it act like a 3.1 setup and use the source material mix? Or does it just come as a bitstream and Sonos does its own thing with the mix? If I need to have multiple inputs - i.e. a streamer, blu-ray, etc.. I assume they just all go into the TV and I use the TV inputs to switch back and fo

I’ve just received new speakers for my living room. 2 Era 100 and Sub Mini. Since before I have a ray connected to my TV because it turned out that the TV I bought a year ago had terrible sound. My use case for the new speakers is listening to music. Don’t care that much about surround sound for the TV but okey if it comes in the package without messing up sound quality for music.  When installing the new speakers it ended up as a surround set up with the ray sound bar. As default when playing music it mainly used the ray and the Era speakers as some kind of “mood managers”. Not at all my intention. I want Era as stereopairs preferably without the ray in the mix at all.   To improve the situation I’ve changed surround settings in two ways:Changed music setting to “Full” adjusted music level to +15It makes the system behave a bit more as expected and sound did improve, ray is still playing though. Hello all of you…. I’m not gonna be seriously personal,but i need to give the reader’s some info.I had to “move” over to my 90 yo granny cause of changes in the family-situation. Granny does not hear so good,based on that i brought my Playbase over along with a couple of Ikea BS w/stands and my Sub mini. But granny did not like the Ikea speakers. And i have not any good place to put them.  They are too noticable in Granny’s eyes.Anyway….the speakers i could have been interested to use is one Ikea Symfonisk Lamp and one Ikea BS but this setup is not available. But let’s say both of these speakers got the same drivers/amp this setup could be done. I get it that the inside volume is different,but that is possible with an prosessor read what they are paired with and adjust themself if so.There was allso an member here that wish for a Ikea Flower-lamp and a hanging lamp from the roof. This had been an alternative for us. A pair Sonos Roam/SL could allso been an alternative but they can’t be

HiDisclaimer:The following is not an everyday occurrence just once in a great while 😂This is not a hardware/software solution more aptly it’s a “try-it” to see if corrects the lip sync issue. It more so involves AV cable/stream viewing.After adjusting the Lip Sync in the Sonos app and still no Joy. Stop the AV stream either by turning the TV off or temporarily switching to another stream. I’ve found it fixes the issue 100% of the time when the Sonos app lip sync adjustment doesn’t correct the issue to my liking. I guess it resets the stream so to speak. So give it a try.. you have nothing to lose kind’a 😊 Note:You will most likely miss a portion of the AV Stream unless you can time shift to recover the missed portion.
