Home Theater

I recently bought an outdoor projector and would like to play the sound on my sonos system.  The projector does not have wifi or airplay. How can I connect the sound from the projector to my system? Would any of these work?Connect Apple TV to projector. Stream movies via airplay.    Purchase speaker that can connect to projector out line and wirelessly to whole sonos system.    Some how add airplay to my projector?not sure if any of these are feasible any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Would the Sonos - Female-to-Male Audio Adapter - Black, Model OPADPWW1BLK, function to connect a Vizio S3821 sound bar with an optical port to a LGOLED65b7a TV with an HDMI-ARC port?

I have an older Sony with Bravia sync. I am trying to turn on speakers from TV only but the sounds goes back to beam speakers. I have disabled auto play from TV. Doesn't work. I have tried some hdmi settings on TV it didn't help.Any suggestions?

I have had my Panasonic HZ1000 since Christmas and updated from a Playbar to an Arc a week ago. No matter what I try I am unable to get the native tv apps to output Dolby sound. PCM in stereo yes no cut out, nothing wrong but as soon as I switch to Dolby output no sound or it is constantly breaking up. I had no problem at all with the playbar outputting 5:1. It wasn’t Atmos but at least I could get some form of surround sound.I think I have no choice but to return the Arc as it seems its a common fault with all kinds of new TV’s and at £800 I might as well get something else that actually works with my TV!! Really poor from Sonos!!

For Home Theater setups (Arc, Playbar, etc.) either standalone or as a full 5.1 System (Sub + Surrounds) I think users would appreciate the ability to have multiple presets to automatically switch based on source (or, although this is less useful, at a minimum manually toggle via a single button switch in the settings)For example for HDMI Input (TV) content I much prefer Trueplay tuning turned on as it improves sonic performance incl. speech which becomes clearer and I get better Atmos performance. However, I find Trueplay does not sound good with Streaming Audio from sources such as Spotify, Apple Music, etc. as I suffer from the metallic/harsh treble and loss of mids.I would suggest a feature so that a user can save custom presets (incl. Trueplay + EQ Setings + Sub + Surrounds settings). If the Arc can switch to that once it detects an HDMI input from the TV but then have the ability to switch to a different preferred profile automatically when it detects music that would be ideal.Th

Can a Beam be paired with any generation Sub?

I’m not sure if this is a Sonos, Nvidia, or Samsung question…I recently started using an Nvidia Shield Pro (2019 version) and hooked it up to my TV and Playbar.  My TV is a Samsung UN55MU8000F.  The Playbar is connected via optical digital cable, and the TV speakers are turned off, so that the only sound is coming out of the Playbar (a *huge* improvement over the TV speakers). However, I’m only able to control the Playbar volume with the app from my phone.  I can’t it with the Shield remote.I would seem reasonable if it were possible to connect the Playbar to the Shield remote volume controls via the Shield IR-settings… but when I go there, “Sonos” is not an option for the soundbar brand to connect to.If anyone can answer this, I’d be most grateful.  Or if this has already been answered elsewhere, please point me in the right direction.Thank you in advance!

Devices are off, TV is off, but Beam decides to play random sounds for about 10 seconds at around midnight, every night. Spooky and annoying. Couldn't find solutions from older threads.Where does the command come from? I don't recognize the source by hearing, but I took diagnostics immediately after, conf. number 298326721

Anyone know which streaming box is best with a sonos Beam. One that can decode everything down to Dolby Digital 5.1 as my TV can only pass through signals. I have a fire stick that can do it, but is getting old and l would  like something better like a apple tv box or  nvidia shield. Anyone got good suggestions?

Hi,   I am having terrible problems with my Arc, I really am concerned it’s faulty. My set up is arc, sub and two ones through Apple TV.    Anything in Atmos sounds great but everything else is terrible! When playing something in 5.1 and the app reporting 5.1 hardly any sound comes from the surrounds or bass even with music and effects. I have had to turn it up to 15 to get anything from them and even then it’s flat. If I compare it directly to the beam and 2 ones I have on another room with the same content the surround audio is much louder and immersive?!! Is anyone else experiencing this issue?   i find it just flat and lifeless for anything but Atmos content? i also found that when watching something in Atmos yesterday the speech kept popping too?

Hi,I have a horrible feeling this has been asked a million times before, apologies if it has, I did search but without a clear answer.  See attached image to describe the problem more easily than words. The short text version is this:Two video/audio HDMI sources - (Nintendo and AppleTV)Connecting to Sonos AMP for audioConnecting to UST Projector for image. The projector only has HDMI input (x2) and no HDMI Arc output. The only other output on the projector is a 3.5mm headphone jack.  Optoma GT5500.As you can see from the image, I’m looking for a magic box in the middle and I’ve no idea what I should be looking for.Hope you can help,Jon

I am aware of the single assistant mic at the top of the Arc that lights up if and when in use.Assuming these are behind the speaker grill on the front baffle but precisely where are these four mics? Are they used for anything outside of the Trueplay set up? Are they ever listening (in any capacity) during normal use or in sleep? Is the mic at the top used during Trueplay or can that mic be covered up? (for the non SL/assistant users) I hope for clarification, reviews and Sonos documentation doesn’t give specifics. Thanks!

SONOS setup: Beam + 2 Play1s + boost connected to a 2018 Philips 55PUS6703 TV. That is one running the 'proprietary' Philips software, not Android TV. Both TV and Sonos are updated to the latest software. The Beam is connected to the ARC HDMI and works perfectly. However, the beam is not found when switching the TV on - need to select audio out - and when looking at the TV settings it doesn't 'see' the TV. The way to fix this is to unplug all the other HDMI devices, turn the TV off for a minute or so, turn it back on and the TV will be recognised and is - according to the app - now connected. That doesn't last. When switching between input devices (i.e. from Apple TV to digital decoder) or when turning the TV off and back on, the connection is lost and you will need to manually select audio out again. Sometimes you will find that the TV has magically selected the headphones as the output channel (no headphones attached) and sometimes it will still show HDMI sound system, but

When my arc is left muted for several minutes, the volume will not come back on using my remote (Harmony). I have to press the mute button on the arc itself to return the volume. However, if it’s muted for just for a couple minutes or less, the remote mutes on/off just fine. Any thoughts?

From last 2 days my app is not connecting to my arc 5.1.2 setup? I’ve rebooted everything including the router. How do I fix this? thanks

I have a home theatre set up of beam 2 play ones and a sub. How do I remove the beam and replace it with the arc

hello, I’m able to connect my Sonos Arc to my Samsung TV UE49MU6405 via the HDMI Arc port and the cable supplied by Sonos with no issues. Then for no apparent reason the Sonos Arc loses the sound signal via the HDMI port and the tv reverts to the tv sound.  I can then no longer connect to the TV via the a Sonos S2 app   I then need to reset the Sonos Arc and unplug the TV to be able to reinstall the sound bar and get the sound again via the HDMI Arc port. The sound will work for a while then will the same issue comes back.    This is getting very frustrating, any help would be very much appreciated.

This has only started happening recently, so I suspect it is due to a software update on the TV.But when the TV is switched back on after being put into standby, the audio settings revert to internal speakers instead of remembering the previously selected HDMI ARC output.I haven’t changed any settings in the Sonos App. and when I toggle the TV back to HDMI ARC sound output, my Sonos Arc springs into life and I can control the Sonos volume through the TV remote.Just interested if anyone else is having the same problem and if you found a solution. Cheers

I just recently purchased a Sonos Arc for my 2017 LG B7 OLED, which is Atmos and ARC compatible. I have a brand new Chromecast with Google TV and an XBOX One X (both Atmost compatible) hooked up to the TV, then running audio to the Sonos Arc via the HDMI ARC out (not eARC). All devices and TV set to bitstream/non-PCM. When I use my LG TV’s internal streaming apps, audio/video sync is perfect, including Atmos content on Netflix, Vudu etc. Verified via Sonos app that it is receiving full Atmos signal. When I try to listen to Dolby content coming from my external devices, the audio is noticeably behind the video.Dolby Atmos content from the Chromecast or Xbox works but there is significant delay to the point of unwatchability Non-Atmos Dolby 5.1 content from Chromecast or Xbox is a little bit delayed… noticeable if you’re looking for it. PCM audio from Chromecast or Xbox has no sync issues. I’ve messed with all the various audio settings in my TV to make sure any sort of additional proces

Playbar TV sound goes off from time to time when changing channels? Fast forward or return will usually turn it back on. Sound goes off not power. This occurs with both sat tv box and smart tv wifi feed. Thanks

I have a TCL Roku TV and a cable box, each or which has their own remote. While I’m watching TV both remotes control the volume on the Beam. But if I’m listening to music, when I change the volume on the remotes, the volume doesn’t change. The volume level appears on the TV when I try to change it, but the volume doesn’t change. I had a Polk Audio sound bar before and the remotes changed the volume when I was listening to music. I assume there is something wrong and that this is not supposed to be the way it works?

Will this provide full Dolby Atmos from the new ARC? 2015 Samsung JU7100. Hi I have the LG GX series tv and until recently have had a beam with 2 surrounds all working fine.  I upgraded to the arc but now am getting drop outs.I’m using HDMI 2.1 cable with eArc enabled on the tv - ive also tried it wthoutIt works for about half hour then the arc just drops and cannot be seen even through the app - ?+LS+RSi have to reset and add the arc again,   Ive reset all 3 speakers but still happens.  No sound through the arc and dissappears from the app - flashing white light.  Just before it drops, it makes several clicking noises As I said  with the beam it works perfect with no issues Thanks in advance

I’m in the process of building an outdoor kitchen and have selected the Furrion Aurora - Full Shade Series 65-Inch Weatherproof 4K Ultra-High Definition LED Outdoor Television with Auto-Brightness Control for Outdoor Entertainment - FDUF65CBR. I’m wanting to pair this up with the Arc.  I read through so much of the forum but really can’t see anything that helps me understand if they are compatible? My second question(s)… once an Arc is connected to the TV… a) will what I play on the TV now be able to be broadcast throughout my Sonos system?b) can I play music through the arc like any other speaker in my Sonos system if the TV is turned off? c) most of my equipment is only S1 compatible and I want to slowly upgrade.  Is it realistic to think I can start with all of my outdoor equipment on S2 and my indoor on S1 and not have control and conflicts with the apps and music services?d) what else should I be concerned about? Thanks for any insight! jhawk635

Sitting on the couch I can only change the volume with the Sonos app. Any idea how to fix this please? move seen someone else on here with the same problem with no answers to the problem. thank you
