Will it work?  Or do I need an amp for sub before I connect it through arc? thanks

I recently refurbed my kitchen/dinner. As per diagram I am having real difficulty with getting enough sound from the in ceiling speakers to reach my seating area, which is around 8 metres from the TV (65inch).The in ceiling speakers give perfect sound but not to my seating position.I have play one either side of the seating area, to provide the surround side,  but normal TV dialogue sound doesn’t come out from these, unless its music,  or in 5.1, even then it’s very limitedI  think I should have positioned the ceiling speakers above the seating area - but I haven’tIdeally I want the tv sound to come from the play ones, as I can’t move the ceiling speakers. Is this possible? or any other solutions much appreciated.If I turn sonos off and use the TVs internal speakers the sound is adequate, but this defeats the objective of having the system in the first place. Thank you in advance. 

I find I want to control the Sonos sub independently from the other products forbetter sound control of the system. Is there a way to do this without connecting the sub to another product?  I have connected it to the arc and the surround sound 1 SLspeakers, but its a bit of a pain to have to go back and adjust the sub continually  after you adjust the room volume that the sub is connected to. (Im in an apartment, and need to keep the sub on a low setting most of the time. But going back and forth between the room volume and sub volume seems so unnecessary and easily resolved if they allowed this feature). 

Hi, i have new sonos arc (replaced old sonos soundbar).Im not able connect it throught HDMI ARC with LG60UH8507. Diagnostic number 1316800750, i have tried almost everything to solve it. Please help. Atmos was the reason for new sonos arc.Thanks for help, Michal.  

hiThis last few weeks I have had various updates to the sonos app, can anyone from sonos tell me what the fixes and improvements actually are instead of some mundane patch notes about “various fixes and  stability”I have noticed no difference whats so ever with 12.2.3,  12.2.4 and 12.2.5 all of which have released in recent weeks.Just be nice to get better patch notes on each version. Thanks 

I was wondering how I connect my projector to my arc? Unfortunately I do not have hdmi arc or optical digital out port. Attached is a photo of the back of my projector. Hdmi 1 has my Apple TV connected to it.  

Different channels have VERY different volume levels when using the Beam with my Samsung QA65Q60TA TV.  Some channels are super quiet and others blow you across the room.  Its worth noting that I am watching TV through Foxtel IQ4 box.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Wondering with this update today if anyone has noticed a fix or correction using LG CX with Arc & Apple TV 4K. 

Is it possible to schedule the night mode sound setting. I would be nice to switch at 09:00PM till 09:00AM to night mode, and the other time in normal mode.

Took delivery of a new TV today and hooked everything up. Sound fine BUT when watching the football with crowd noise the audio dropped intermittently throughout. Changing to the no crowd noise channel, audio perfect. The Beam is connected via HDMI Arc.  Sound set to pass through and the E-Arc on or off didn’t appear to make any difference. Any suggestions?  FWIW connected via HDMI3. Almost like too much happening was overwhelming the speaker. Connected to two Play1 for surround. Any help appreciated - I’m not particularly experienced in the audio settings so have read several threads before appealing!

Hi all. Followed the other instructions and threads to get the magic remote working with my optically connected playbar. It works for the volume switches but not the mute button.  any ideas?

Hi there,I have an Arc and a Sub in my cart, but given my 2008 Panasonic plasma only supports PCM/Dolby Digital via fibre optic digital out, I’m wondering if it will pass the Switch’s LPCM to the Arc or not.As I understand it, PCM and LPCM are the same, but I’m still a bit concerned the TV will only pass stereo to the Arc, and I’m not sure I want the added complexity and expense of one of these HDFury deals.Very much appreciate any insight or replies.

We moved to a new home a few years ago and my advanced Marantz receiver and expensive speakers just wasn’t going to fit.   And I bought an entertainment cabinet with a shelf for the receiver that was smaller than the Marantz. So initially I bought an expensive soundbar.   The Martin Logan Cadence.  It sounded great, but it was an HDMI arc setup and it didn’t like my LG OLED TV.   After a long dual with tech support, I returned it and got the more expensive Martin Logan Vision X with optical input only.  This sounded even better but it had a quirk that when changing channels or playing a music playlist, it skipped the first few seconds of the audio.   Argh.   It was not for me so I changed course and bought a slim Marantz receiver (that fit in the cabinet) and a passive soundbar (Martin Logan SLM X3) plus a sub and satellites .   This was working with everything I threw at it but the sound wasn’t great.   The speaking dialogs were very difficult to understand (I thought I needed hearing

I have just installed a Sonos Arc.  No matter what I do, I can’t get Atmos playing (the Atmos flag in the Sonos app never appears, and the sound is definitely 5.1) My set up:  Sony XBR55 x900H (latest firmware) with eARC.  This TV supports Atmos.High Speed (w/ethernet) cable going to Sonos Arc.Arc paired with Gen2 subwoofer and 2 Sonos OnesSonos S2 app updated. Content tried:Netflix movies (w/Premium Account)Disney+ movies and shows Blu Ray discs  As noted, I have played tons of stuff, but nothing triggers the Atmos flag (as shown in Ryan’s Arc tutorial).   Any thoughts/suggestions/things to try will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!    

I purchased a new 2020 Samsung 80T 65 inch tv and attached my Sonus Arc soundbar via an HDMI cable to the e-Arc HDMI connection on the TV.  No matter what setting I have tried and even after updating the firmware on the Samsung TV and the Sonus Arc soundbar, I still have the sound either cutting out every 10 sec to the TV switching between TV sound and the Sonus Arc Soundbar.Does anyone at Sonus know if this is a Samsung issue or a Sonus Arc issue?  I have seen other posts stating that Sonus is working with Samsung on the issue.  Does anyone have an update?  New firmware coming?  Any date?

Hi every body, I connected my sonos soundbar Sonos Arc to my samsung qled 65q95t TV (with the cable supplied by sonos) on the HDMI-ARC port. But I have sound cutoff problems, and even sometimes permanent sound cutoff! I have to unplug my soundbar or reinistialized the settings. My firmware under TizenOS is 1460. What to do, best regards

When playing content that was encoded with Dolby Atmos from Netflix with the S2 app, it used to show the Atmos badge. I just noticed this week that it doesn’t do that anymore. I have a Sony XBR CH90. Anybody else having the same issue?

I have an S1 system which is zoned throughout my house using Connect:Amps. I want to get an Arc to replace the existing playbar but I believe that the Arc is not backwards compatible with S1 and nor are the connect:amps compatible with S2. This means I’d have to have a separate system for the Arc only on S2 which would not integrate with the rest of the house zones. Can someone please confirm this? 

Received my new Roku 2020 yesterday. Connected it to the HDMI 2 on my Sony Bravia XBR-55X900E along with my new Sonos Arc, Gen3 Sub and SL ones for surround and man is it awesome. Always have been an Apple guy but this takes the cake. Netflix and Amazon Prime sound great in Dolby Atmos. 

Hi,I have a Sonos Amp wired to 4 ceiling speakers. I also have a TV installed in the same room as the wired ceiling speakers  (AMP is in another electrical room) without the ability to attach an HDMI ARC to the amp. Is there technology, or a solution to link my TV into the AMP wirelessly to create my ceiling speakers as a sound output for the TV. (im thinking HDMI ARC wireless adapter) or something similar? Or would the ARC be needed to run the sound output and connect to the AMP to utilize the ceiling speakers for the TV?

I was previously having issues with the following combination:Sony X950G + Native streaming apps + HDMI/eARC + Sonos ArcIssues included random audio dropouts (main problem) and lack of Atmos from Amazon Video and Disney+ (secondary problem). I did get Atmos from Netflix with this setup. I switched to the following combination as a trial:Sony X950G + Native streaming apps + optical adapter + Sonos ArcThe audio dropouts went away but the volume +/- response was unacceptably laggy, unresponsive, and unpredictable. Felt like trading one problem for another. And then of course no Atmos whatsoever. Decided on a whim to try the Roku Ultra (2019) since I hadn’t read much about it in combination with the Sonos Arc. Seems most are using Apple TV 4K with mixed results. So:Sony X950G + Roku Ultra + HDMI/eARC + Sonos ArcSo far no audio dropouts after a week of testing. Excellent Roku remote control responsiveness. I’ve posted about this problem before: I just wanted to update this topic for anyone who experienced the same issues or are interested in buying movies through Playstation store.Unfortunately surround still doesn't work when watching movies bought on the Playstation store on the Playstation 4, but for some reason it works perfectly on the Playstation 5. Same movies, same audio settings.

I have had the Sonos amp for a few weeks in a living room setup and for the most part am enjoying it. The issue I am having is when watching 5.1 content through an apple tv 4k where I have media files we play back with infuse 6. On these files, they play fine but loud passages such as explosions, crashes etc are much much louder than they should be and dialogue is then very quiet relative to other sounds. Because some of the video content has DTS as the default audio format I have set the apple tv 4k to downmix to stereo. Anyone else have this issue?

Recently purchased and set up, Sonos Arc, Sub, One SL.All speakers work with Netflix, CD, DVD, music and film streaming and through my chosen radio station.I have Sky TV but NO SOUND works through any SKY program on one SL. Any ideas.

So I have my PS5 set to sound bar and dolby bitstream, but neither the 4k discs/streaming services apps such as appletv are showing the dolby symbol in the sonos app, when things are playing. My Series X is showing Dolby Atmos though with disc and streaming apps.  Is it just not supported by PS5?
