does anyone know how (if possoble) you can get the ps5 to output dolby atmos to the arc via the LG GX when playing a 4k bluray?

I am in the process of putting together a home theater/media room. Its a relatively small room, ~17' x 13', and I am putting together all the components.After spending time over a few visits at local stores and being blown away by the sound I pulled the trigger on a Sonos system. I was attracted to the other features of the system besides just movie/TV sound.I purchased a Playbar, Sub, and 2 Play 1 speakers. After doing some more research I started to have some concerns that I may have bit off more than necessary given my wants and needs.My main goal is great surround sound from movies and TV, the other streaming features are nice to have, but I am concerned I may have significantly over-payed for what will be primarily a surround sound system for my TV. Are the other features worth it?I would love to hear any feedback or advice from more experienced Sonos users.Also, I was told I did not need a bridge, however, i seem to be getting conflicting information on that. Hi I need clarification on the setup I’m planning build. The TV is Samsung TU7000 65” with eARC connection “but this TV is not Dolby Atmos TV. Question: will SonosArc+Subgen3+oneSL produce Dolby Atmos given that movie being playback is Dolby Atmos format on TU700?or Dolby Atmos requires Dolby Atmos TV capable + eARC connection?Hope someone can get back to me with clean answer. 

Hi,Could somebody please tell me exactly what the difference is between DD5.1 and PCM Stereo 2.0 when played on a Beam? I know DD5.1 is a 5.1 soundtrack and the Beam isn’t a 5.1 speaker, so what happens?Because of the lip sync issues caused by my TV when watching some content, I have to have my Blu-Ray player set to PCM instead of Bitstream. This means the Beam receives PCM 2.0 Stereo instead of DD5.1. If I play the same scene, on the same volume but change the two audio formats the scene is much louder when played on DD5.1, but is volume the only difference between the two in this scenario?Thanks.

Reading through the threads this one comes up a bit, but we really need a feature to switch (even a manual in app switch) to turn the surrounds into full mode when watching music videos instead of leaving them in ambient.

Hey guys, I wanted to ask a few questions about the “dedicated side front channels” trick using Groups in a 5.0 or 5.1 setup. I know the process of how to do it, but I wanted to confirm some details before deciding on a purchase.I currently have a Beam + 2 rear Ones in Home Theatre mode. However, my room is very wide and the audio sources almost create a triangle shape instead of a rectangle.With that being said: Considering that the Beam will still drive the 3 frontal channels, is the widening effect of the new side channels noticeable? Or does the Beam narrows it again and compensates it? How is TruePlay impacted by this? I’d guess I’d run it without the “Front Group”, rendering it untrue. About the sync, is the Front Group ahead of the Home Theatre Group so all I have to do is delay the former? Is ARC capable of delaying the video if needed? Should I expect more crashes because of this? Basically, is it worth it?Do note that I’m aware that the Beam is designed to bounce the side cha

I'm having an issue with my new Sony A8H and sonos arc. The tv keeps switching the audio output to the TV speakers rather than through the soundbar. The Sonos arc will play sound for 1-5 seconds than revert to the tv speakers. There are times where it works as it should, but I usually have to turn the tv off/on multiple times to get that to happen. The arc works fine when streaming music, and it worked immediately when I plugged it into my 6 year old samsung smart tv upstairs. I have the sonos arc connected to the arc/earc port on the TV. I have tried 2 different HDMI cables (sony suggested the one that came with the arc was the issue, when I switched it out for a spare I had lying around the problem resolved itself for a while, but then returned). The earc setting on the tv is set to auto. Pass through also set to auto. Sony support has had me do power reset, factory reset, changed the RS232c control from HDMI port to serial port. Has anyone used Ikea Symfonisk speakers for rears with Sonos beam for surround theatre set up if so is it any good. 

I just got a new Sonos 5.1 set up. The arc, gen 3 sub, and 2 sl. I have a samsung tu700d. The issue I'm having is that the app is always displaying dolby atmos. So I can't actually tell if dolby atmos is coming through. Even on random youtube videos. I just want to be able to tell if what I'm getting is actually atmos.

I currently have a Sonos 5.1 setup and love it...but I’m running into Lip Sync Issues with a few connections. I also have a PlayBar as the main unit feeding everything else, so there’s no AirPlay 2 compatibility.Are there any good Sonos competitors from a “wireless setup” perspective that rivals the Sonos? Sonos obviously fails with the top output being Dolby Digital 5.1, so I’m looking to see what else may be available for Atmos and DTS:X.Is there a way to achieve this without a receiver? Or is it best to use a receiver?And input or feedback would be appreciated as I’m seriously considering upgrading my Sonos system.

Hi,I have issues with Playbar optical input.I have Playbar conencted to Samsung TV and it works fine for few years, until yesterday as is stopped working.Optical cable is fine.Playbar can play via wireless, but no sound from TV. Sonos diagnostics #: 1767724644 Please help

I have had a couple PlayBase’s both purchased from Crutchfield, I have owned for a little over 2 years now and one of them started getting quieter and quieter.  When you try to make up for that sound dropping off it shuts off completely, no lights, no touch panel, drops out of the app completely.  The only way to get it to come back is to unplug it, wait a little bit, then plug it back in. It doesn’t appear to be an update as far as I can tell as the other PlayBase is functioning for the time being and most likely not a fuse because of it coming back after plugging it back in.Sadly out of 16 Sonos devices, this one appears to be dying. Guessing a power board’s capacitor or capacitors.  Any suggestions out there?  Thanks!

When watching Netflix on my Sony tv, randomly the Sonos speakers will start making very load high pitch and crackling sounds. The only way to stop it is to turn everything off.Diagnostic: 1494543837

Hi All, I was wondering if the Sonos App Info version should match the Sonos System Info?Or should they be on the same version? 

I have read through a couple of these threads, but the options i saw were either not solving my problem or not acceptable for my viewing environment.  At issue is that i own a TiVo Edge.  the TiVo remote does indeed control power on, inputs, channel changes, etc, as I own an LG tv.  I go to the TiVo setup and look for the mfg, LG is there, and I pair the remote to my LG.  But as with many, I don’t use the TV sound system, but rather a SONOS Playbar.  Since in the remote pairing, it does not allow me, once i have included the LG tv, it assumes that when i hit the Mute button, it mutes the sound on my TV, which i am not using.  If i go to the A/V setup SONOS is not a listed mfg.  So according to TiVo, i am to use the Denon (?) manufacturer.  I tried all the settings and none of them allowed my mute button, for example, to mute or control volume.TiVo suggested i contact SONOS and i suspect SONOS will suggest i contact TiVo.All said and done, i want to be able to use my TiVo remote to not

So, I've got the Arc and Sub, connected to a LG C9, and input via Apple Tv 4K. Just added two Ikea Symfonisk as rears, and it does work, somewhat.I get nice Atmos, full surround when the input ( as acording to the sonos app ) is 5.1, 7.1 and so on, but when the input is 2.0, I do get some muffeld sound from the rears.I know this is a "feature" when you are streaming audio to your system, but as far as I can see, it should not do so when recieving input from the Tv.Is this intended by sonos, and if so, can it be turned off in some hidden setting somewhere? 

HI EveryoneI am wishing to create a media wall similar to the ones in the picture attached, where my ARC is mounted in a housing above or below the TV.Searching through the forums and chats that have already been created there was much discussion about the up firing speakers in the arc and the distances that the ARC required around at each end and above and therefore its placementMany of the chats are over 6months old and SONOS community was wishing for updates as time progressed. I was wondering if there is any further comment or success stories of the ARC in a built in unit or whether people had tried this finding poor results Many thanks

Hi,Sure this will be an easy one, and thanks in advance for the info.…I recently bought a beam, 2 x ones (will get the sub soon) I have one “one” in the lounge, other on the kitchen bar, as open plan / linked rooms….I like hearing the TV whilst prepping dinner, but I am going to put the kitchen one in the lounge so the surround is being utilized and sounds better. But here’s the question…..I want to buy another “one” for the kitchen, but will I be able to listen / hear the TV output even though it won’t be part of the beam 5.1 surround set up? Thank you in advance.

Did Sonos discontinue the background imags/screensaver on TVs? I used to have it on my beam but when I select that HDMI it doesn’t show anything amymore. Can you re-enable this setting somehow?

So, I’ve ripped out my very dated entertainment center builtin and and rebuilding it.  I’m strongly considering an Arc/Sub/Surrounds solution for cleanliness, and frankly, the cost is appealing.  However, I have an 18ft steeply angled ceiling.  Can Trueplay compensate for this?  My other option is to stick with an AVR receiver and install pendant speakers so I can normalize the height of left and right. Anyone using an Arc with angled ceilings?

Se acquistassi un televisore Samsung o LG compatibili Airplay 2, utilizzando le App del televisore quali Now Tv, Netflix, Amazon, Apple tv, etc. posso trasmettere il suono (senza aggiungere altri dispositivi tipo soundbar beam che tramite il cavo hdmi arc potrebbe farlo) al mio impianto Sonos. I televisori con Airplay 2 “a bordo” sono in grado di trasmettere l’audio o possono solo ricevere con Airplay ?

I just recently bought the beam for my small apartment and I’m looking to expand to the 5.1 surround setup. Should I get the Play:1s or Ones for my rears first or the sub first? I want to gradually get to the 5.1 because of the cost.

Would like some advice please. I have Virgin TiVo box with a beam 5.1 setup in my room. I also have a beam in my summerhouse. Only thing is I am only getting stereo 2.0 on both TVs with content that should be 5.1. Now I know this is the switch and I don’t mind it being in stereo 2.0 in the summerhouse if it is not possible over cat 7. But I would like the 5.1 setup back in the bedroom. Question is if there are any proven splitters out there that will work with the beam and sound will work at 5.1.thank you in advance 

Hi, I am aware that there are multiple Samsung remote issues on these forums, but I believe mine may be distinct. Last night, my Beam suddenly stopped working w/ the Samsung TV. After factory resetting the beam, unplugging the TV for 60 seconds, and then setting everything up anew, it is working again. However, starting tonight, my remote (similar to the one pictured here) won’t control the TV volume (though the Sonos app will). This had worked fine for months and even did last night after I redid the setup. What’s especially strange is that when I hit volume up/down/mute on the remote, the normal popup that an “HDMI” volume change is underway pops up on the screen, so it is receiving some command, the volume just never changes. Any ideas? Thank you for your help.

Hi all senior in Sonos Community. Nice meeting you.  I just got my Sonos Arc and connected to youtube music now and i love the music alot compare to my Yamaha 209.My question is i try connect to my 10 years old LG TV and it cant connect the sound and it does not comes with Optical.Then I try my Xiaomi Laser Projector 150 inch and nothing is available as well. sob sob.May I ask what TV should i get to get Sonos Arc compatible with zero issue with plug in Earc and issue solved. I plan to play PS4/5 with it.Initially I try looking at LG C9 but some senior here mentioning there is issue with it as well.So to cut story short, which is best TV and value for money TV should i got to pair with Sonos Arc.Will TCL 825 does the trick or we need min flagship TV like LG CX or Sony X90H works as well. As kinda on tight budget and does not want to spent alot on OLED as heard it will burn in quickly as well alot samsung cant connect to the sonos arc.Thank you and looking forward to your reply soon.
