Mvh HH
From the Sonos apps installed on my iPad and Macbook Pro I can manually create playlists from the music library stored on my Macbook --- basically my iTunes library assembled over several years.I can select one of these playlists or a single track and play it on either of my two sonos one devices simply by clicking on it.But I’m not able to do this using google assistant voice control as it doesn’t recognise my Music Library or sonos playlists as music sources. It only seems to accept streaming paid-subscription Music Services e.g. Spotify premium account. Why is this ?Is it simply a commercial decision by Google who hope that I will subscribe to Google Play Music, which would give them a monthly revenue stream ?I could of course subscribe to a different streaming service like Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music, in which case neither Google nor Sonos would receive any subscription benefit from me.I’m quite happy for google assistant voice control to tell me the weather forecast
Hi All, I have a connect Amp and Google Assistant working in my home. I can tell google to play Spotify or radio to the amp with no issues. i also have my TV audio out connected to the line in on the Amp. What is the voice command to tell Google to play the line-in on the Amp cheers
I just updated my Sonos system and Google Assistant to control my Sonos speakers. I am getting an error when I ask Google to play Spotify in any room. It states Spotify is unavailable. When I ask google to play Spotify on the Mini home, It works perfectly. I have unlinked and relinked both accounts and I am still getting the same error. I tried the same command with Pandora and it works fine. I can ask Google to play Pandora in any room or on Mini Home and it works flawlessly. Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!
Just purchased a Sonos One (Gen 1) for the bedroom mostly for my wife’s use. She likes use voice commands but being Sono’s doesn’t recognize voice, it ‘doesn’t access her personal Spotify account. For the time being I was going to keep the Google Home in the room to recogize wife’s voice and play music on the Sonos. Idealy I would like to make the Sonos one the default speaker for the the Google Home but I do not even see it listed in the Google Home app.Mostly importantly I do not want both of them answering at “Ok Google”.
Will the google home mini now work with original Sonos Play 1 in the UK (not the later Sonos One - 1st & 2nd generations)
Where in my Sonos options do I select the country? Or is this a case of needing to use a VPN temporarily? I would like to change it to the USA so I can enable Google Assistant. I imagine this means I'll start hearing dates in the wrong order, and temperature in fahrenheit, but I can put up with that for the time being until GA is launched in Australia.
Hello all, Ive tried everything including talking to google directly and im still having issues. My sonos one is linked to my google assistant for voice stuff and everything works ie weather, traffic, volume up/down ext. but for the life of me I cant get it to play music through voice commands. It goes like this me: "hey google play (artist) on (app)" google: "ok here's (artist) on (app).... sorry I can't do that right now". The last little bit varies a little sometimes, but ya I've tried everything. I can however go into the sonos app and select the music from there and it plays fine, Its literally just the music voice command. List of stuff I have tried: unplugging sonos, factory reseting sonos, uninstalling music apps on phone, going through every setting and option under the sun, I even under googles instruction changed my email to all gmail accounts in regards to the apps and sonos itself. So ya if anyone on here can help me out id appreciate it, the whole reason I got th
Hi I'm from Sweden and we just got the Google Voice functionalty. I can't get the Google Home mini service to work with my Sonos. It says that my Spotify Premium account is not linked correctly. I've checked numerous times that it is the same Spotify and Google account in Google Home and Sonos. However it works perfect when using voice commands to Google Assistent on my phone, just not using Google Home Mini?
Google Assistant is experiencing temporary issues today, the 20th of August '19. You may find that you are unable to initiate music playback. Upon trying, you will receive the following voice notification: ”I can’t do that here, but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices”. You can view the status of any ongoing outages via our Status page. We are currently investigating the issue and we will have it fixed as soon as possible. We will update this thread once the outage is resolved. Many thanks for your patience and understanding!
I was excited to see integration with Google assistant, however when I try to add sonos, the following happens: 1) I go to voice services and add Google Assistant 2) this takes me to the Google screen where it authenticates me using the same email address that's on my sonos account 3) this then redirects me to the sonos authentication 4) after authenticating on sonos, it says I need to register my speakers to my account, so I click Go to Sonos App, and the process starts all over again. This doesn't make sense. My speakers are registered to my account. When I go to the sonos website, and sign in with the same email address, I can see all of my speakers. Elsewhere in this process it says if I go to More > Settings > Account Settings and I don't see "Account" I need to update my sonos system. I do not see "Account" - I see my email address as the linked account and then I see Transfer account. Where is "Account"? I've also confirmed my app and speakers are all up to date.

I recently switched my Sonos One from Alexa to Google Assistant, and it seems to mostly work for everything but the one thing I need a Sonos speaker for: playing music. Whenever I ask the assistant to play an album, all I get in reply is "Sorry, it looks like the requested content isn't currently available on Google Play Music". I'm able to play radio stations on GPM just fine; it seems to only be an issue playing albums or songs. I'm able to play my albums via GPM from the So os app as well, just not using voice control. I also can't play albums to my Sonos speaker from the Google Assistant on my phone; same error message. I have a Google Play Music premium account, and I've checked that Sonos and Google Assistant are using the same Google account. I'm not sure what else to try, so any help would be appreciated.
I was previously using Alexa, but have switched to Google Assistant now I've got an Android. The sensitivity of waking Google with "Ok Google" is much lower than when using Alexa - when can this be fixed? Also, in my case I have two sonos ones as rear speakers, with amp as front two with sub, when using Alexa both rear ones would listen, now only the rear left?????
I get this error when I try and connect Google Home to Sonos (via Home app) even though I’m using the same email address for both accounts.
'OK google 'responds can't reach the Internet check modem. using sonos app can listen to music no problem. so definitely connected. any suggestions to resolve problem?
I had purchased my Sonos set up from 2018 onwards when it was advertised as speakers that would come with Google Assistant. After a long wait, Sonos became GA-capable. Does anyone know when Sonos will become GA-capable in Asia. Looking at the list of countries for Alexa, I am dismayed that there does not seem to be any further development for Alexa in Asia. Would the same happen to GA in Asia too?
I have 5 Google home mini. One for every room I have a Sonos connect amp speaker (speakers in the sealing, and the amp's in my AV room). So. In my bathroom for example, i tell Google "Hi Google. Play some music from my playlist in the bathroom". Then the music starts playing from the mini... My sonos speaker is called "bathroom" and the mini is called "mini 2". And yes. I have done the setup both in home and sonos app. I
I've been using Sonos with Google Assistant since it first became available, but over the last several days there's a new problem: Google Assistant frequently forgets what room my Sonos One stereo pair is in, so when I say "Hey Google, turn on the light" I get the surprising and annoying response "Ok, turning on 8 lights" (that's a stupid bug on Google's part - there's no way that "the light" should ever be interpreted as "all lights" if it doesn't know what room it's in, but leaving that aside as a Google bug...) When I check the Google Home app, I see my Sonos speaker pair in the correct room. A couple of times the problem fixed itself spontaneously after a while. A couple of times I was able to fix it manually by removing the Sonos speaker pair from the room and re-adding it. And a couple of times, like today, that didn't work because Google Home stubbornly says "There was a problem communicating with Google" whenever I try to touch the Sonos speaker room assignment (and it only af
Is it possible to disable the Google Assistant Voice control and keep the linked status in google home? I want to continue to control the Sonos Beams but use my Google Nest Hubs for voice commands. My wife misses having her own personal assistant settings and assistant voice. Right now I have the mics turned off as a work around. I am also using airplay more and more 2 group my Sonos system for music since that feature is not available yet from google. On a side note just having the flexibility to use both Google and Apple are why I use and enjoy my Sonos system every day. Thanks
Sonos' responses to common GA commands is erratic. Sometimes responds, sometimes not, with some error message. Some examples: Me: "Play XYZ" or "Play playlist XYZ." Sonos: "Sure, (or OK,) playing XYZ on Google Play Music. Sorry, I can't find the content you requested." or Sonos: "Sure, playing XYZ on Google Play Music. Something went wrong. Try on one of your other devices. or, I can't do that here, but you can ask me to play that on one of your other devices." At other times, using the same command, at the same distance and volume, Sonos responds correctly. I have a total of seven Google Home devices around my home, which all work fine. ???
Hello Everyone, I live in the Netherlands and I recently purchased a Sonos Beam with 2 Play 1 (all in the living room) and an IKEA/Sonos speaker for the bedroom. I also have a Google Home Hub. I managed to play Spotify properly on the Google Home Hub using voice control and I also manage to play Spotify on all Sonos speakers using the Sonos Android App. I have the Beam connected to a Sony Android TV and, if I ask it to play Spotify, it automatically turn on the TV and plays Spotify, but I cannot manage to use Google assistant to play Spotify on the Beam (and the 2 Play 1) having the TV off. Similarly, I cannot use google assistant to play Spotify on the IKEA speaker in the bedroom: when I ask Google assistant to play music on that speaker, it says that he is going to play Spotify on that speaker, but eventually ti says he cannot help with it yet. Does anybody had a similar case? How can I fix it? Thanks a lot!!!
Just set up Google assistant on my Sonos Beam - assistant recognizes my commands like add Milk to shopping list, but when I ask it to play a artist on Spotify it tries and then says - "device isn't available right now" . I can play Spotify music through Sonos app on all speakers including the Beam. I have removed the Google assistant from the Beam and added it back just to see if that fixed it. I did change the name of the device during the process of setting it up. Has anyone run into this error and figured out how to fix it.
When I ask GA to shuffle songs on my One, it responds "sorry, shuffle mode is not available on this device". Is there any way to get Google to shuffle songs on Sonos?
