Google Assistant and Sonos

Hi,I have had the Arq for one month and the experience with Google assistant is really poor.My first comment is it only seems to work when I shout or get really close to the microphone.  What i’d consider a ‘normal’ user experience (reasonably loud) command often doesn’t get results. My second comment is that there is a vast difference between the accuracy of Sonos Arc vs iPhone Google Assistant.    I use Arq with commands and i get ‘sorry, something went wrong’, or some garbage response, or just flashing LEDS and back to music.  I say the same thing on my iphone/Google Home and it’s works perfectly.

How do I enable continued conversation on my sonos one with Google assistant ? I've tried looking through the settings and end up going round in circles. Thanks for your help in advance. 

I’ve seen many questions to the below but not found an answer so I will add my penny worthI have new sonos beam and all integration with sonos app and youtube music is fine apart from the truncation list issue. ie I can play youtube music from the sonos app OK Google questions like weather and what is my diary work fineBut when i ask google to play a track eg ok google play artist trackname  i get the following reply “Ok playing trackname on YouTube music. Sorry I can't find what you're asked for”I have the basic youtube music. All the various combinations of asking to play a track/artist fail with the message above. I have a  google home speaker and all the commands for youtube music WORK on this.Any ideas please

2 weeks ago I set up our new family Sonos speaker on our home WiFi. I think we’ve spent £160 on what is essentially a high-end doorstop. I and both my parents downloaded the new app, connected to Spotify, connected Google Assistant, set up voice recognition for me and my mum. The lot. Up until now it had been working fine, e.g. Me or my mum could ask Google Assistant to play music on Spotify and it would, or, we could play music through the Spotify app. This morning I did just that and played music on the speaker, no problem, but a few hours later my mum, and then I, ask Google to play some music on Spotify. She says “I can’t do that here, but you can ask me to play on one of your other devices” (we don’t have any) - or something to that effect.  So I go to my mum’s Spotify- can’t connect to the speaker, odd, because when I go to my own Spotify, it connects and plays just fine. I have two homes.  Each home has a wifi network with the same SSID (we’ll call it Gandalf for simplicity).  The idea was that anyone who had access to the SSID in house A would also have access in house B. I have a reasonable sized Sonos system in house A (Play:Bar, sub, and about 8 Play:1 and Connect devices).  At house B, I have a Play and a Move. I’m running into a problem getting Google Assistant set up on the Move at House B.  When i go into the Google Assistant setup process, it can not find the Move when it looks for it.  I have already stripped down the network (killed off the 5GHz access, and disabled the additional Access Points).   Could the fact that I have two systems on the same SSID be posing a problem?  Is there something else that’s causing this issue? Worth noting that I did have this working for about 2 weeks.  Then I had to reset a bunch of stuff with my Google account, and we’re back to square 0… Thanks 

If I try and play music or radio through my sonos beam using Google assistant,  it cuts out all the time. I have to turn on the tv and link to the sonos as the source to allow it to work. Eh? Seemed to have happened all of a sudden.  Used to be able to play music through the beam without the tv needing to be on.

Hello all,I have a problem with my setup.I can’t say : “hey google, switch the music on the sonos FIVE in the room XXX”Google says : “it’s not possible, I don”t understand”If I say “hey google, say to everyone the dinner is ready”google answer : “there is no other speaker configure”But in the same time I can say : “hey google, play music in the room XXX” -→ it worksOther example, I say “hey google lunch music on deezer” → OKbut i cannot say : “hey google stop the music in 5min”, google answer “I can not do that because there is no media currently playing !” :oI really don’t understand what is wrong…Thanks by advanced for your help.PS : sorry for my poor english

New Sonos One, most up to date Sonos and Google Assistant app. Have tried repeated deleting/downloading of apps, linking/unlinking Sonos from the google assistant app.  I am unable to connect Google Assistant through the spotify app, it just gets stuck on the “Linking Google Account...” page and then I get an error. On the Google Assistant app, it shows the Sonos One has paired successfully.

Hi, Just got the Sonos move and was pretty impressed with it but now it seems that when music is playing, the google assistant doesn’t work. I have to pause the music on the top of the speaker and then say the command. I have deleted the assistant and then reinstalled but the same problem persists. Has anyone else had this issue and knows of a fix?

Just checking if the is my Roku TV or there is a fix? #1 Google Voice through Beam turns off and controls volume up/down but will not turn TV ON? #2 - Also: When I play music on through the Beam, what command do I say to get it back to TV without using the Sonos App? I tried variations of“Hey Google switch bedroom to TV”  “Hey Google switch bedroom back to TV“Hey Google turn on bedroom to TVNone of these work? 

I love my three brand new Sonoses, but I’ve just disabled the Google assistant on all three because it’s too inconsistent.  The assistant volume is tied to the Sonos volume, so when I listen to my music loud in the kitchen then “ hey Google” it’s incredibly jarring and loud. Especially for podcasts or for TV on the Beam, both of which are relatively quiet so the assistant becomes tremendously loud. Likewise when the music is quiet, if I then trigger the assistant from another room it’s far too quiet.  I’ve switched back to a Google home mini for now but it would be great if Sonos allowed you to separately control the assistant volume.    

I have a Samsung Q95T set up with SONOS Beam (via HDMI3 (ARC)) on the ONECOnnect Box and Google Assistant fully set up on the Beam and the TV. I’ve also set the TV and SONOS system up via the SmartThings app on my ‘phone.Everything works as it should, with Google Voice Assistant on the Beam functioning correctly.  However, if I instruct ‘Google’ to play music, taking the Beams source away from the TV to my YouTube subscription, I can’t find a way of then telling Google to revert the audio source for the Beam back to the ‘TV’ input.If I tell it to ‘play TV’, it tries and then tells me there’s a problem as it cannot control my TV.Has anyone else encountered this same challenge with this kind of set up? Is there anyway to ‘tell’ Google to change the audio source of the SONOS Beam to ‘TV’ or is the only way to do this by accessing the SONOS app on your phone and selecting the ‘TV’ input yourself?

It seems that every time I add a new Sonos speaker (Sonos One. Move or Beam) Things get programmed in regards to Google reposing correctly to things that were were before?Example#1: If I ask Google to play (radio station) on tunein radio it responds "Sorry, it looks like that content isn't available". It was working before I added the new speaker? I use this command every morning? I can, get it to work from the Sonos app but not Google Voice anymore?Example#2 - Google voice can’t find my you tube music request.  Hey Google play Elton John, “Sorry I can do that here”?Then I go through my various resets:unlink and relink “you tube music” Uninstall and reinstall “google voice” Last resort uninstall Sonos speaker and reinstall (not my favorite though!)I am able to get some  things back in order but have not been example to fix Example #1 Tunein radio with Google voice. Any ideas how to fix or trouble shoot? RAY  THE  BATMAN  

Hello, Just wondering if anyone used to experience or experiencing the same issue as me. My YouTube music (paid) was working fine the whole time with my Beam but all of a sudden today, it doesn’t work anymore. Whenever I request a song through Google Assistant, it always responses “Sorry, It looks like YouTube music isn’t currently available, please try again later.” I have tried to unlink my YouTube music and also google assistant but still not working. And I tried it on my Google Home, it’s working fine. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution? Thanks. Your confirmation number is: 489116950.

I want to use a Google hub as a voice controller for my legacy play 5s, for which I also use a cr200 controllerunfortunately, google doesn’t talk to my Amazon prime account, so that is no good as my music source.I added Spotify (free) account to Sonos and google and voice control is working, on my cr200, the Spotify button now appears, but I get a message saying my Spotify account doesn’t support the controller. (Amazon prime music works fine on my cr200) is the reason it doesn’t work due it being a free account- ie will it work with Spotify premium- or is it like Sonos radio - it won’t work whatever ? 

Hello,   Have some old speakers on my account still, as a result they come up in Google Assistant when linking my account. Any ideas how to remove them (other than the answer I have been able to see online which is they have to be registered with another account).  Or anyone have any ideas how to remove them at least from Google Assistant as a device (they get pulled from the Integration with Sonos, which I assume if from my Sonos account online).

Hello guys,   I am quite new to the Sonos world but so far I have been nothing but satisfied. However, today I experienced something that I cannot seem to fix. When I command the Google Assistant to play the latest news, Beam’s volume goes down no matter how loud it was before. Plus I cannot increase the volume either from the app of physically via Beam. The volume is stuck at low for the news! That is if I increase the volume manually the volume bar moves in the app, and the sound is very loud if I change to music, but the news in that moment do not react.  I have done a Factory reset but it did not help. Plus, this problem did not occur earlier, as we were able to control the volume for news normally.  Any suggestion what it may be? I am having trouble getting sonos to work with google assistant for myself and my family members and our separate Spotify accounts.  We have a Sonos one and a sonos amp in our living room and a google home in each of our bedrooms. We have  4 google users each with voice match turned on. We have 4 Spotify accounts, one for each google user. Each user has all google home and sonos devices listed as matched ‘devices’ in google assistant. However, we are constantly being told by sonos that our requests for music on the sonos device cannot be completed.  What is the proper way to configure multiple family members with multiple Spotify accounts and multiple google accounts on one sonos speaker/system?

I am trying you Google Assistant through my Sonos Arc and I noticed my Google Home App has 2 TVs (syched through Sonos) and one Speaker. With them all looking identical and all not originally named in anyway I could identify them it’s a bit of a ‘mess’ in my Google Home App.Especially as I also sych my TV itself through Home Assistant (LG still hasn’t released Google Assistant in The Netherlands). So I effectively have the same TV 3 times. Which can cause Google Assistant to get a wee bit confused. With naming things differently I got most issues solved.But I still cannot figure out why Sonos is sending out the same TV twice.I have “Sonos TV Control Sonos TV” and “Sonos TV Control Woonkamer” (woonkamer means living toom in Dutch). This seems to indicate both my Arc and my Sub are both sending out the TV. Which is kinda odd as my Sub isn’t connected to my TV anymore since I got an Arc. Is there someway it remembers the old connection and if so, can I clean it up?If I click ‘unlink’ on t

How can i add Sonos radio to Google app?

Hi just got my first Sonos product, a Beam. I’ve got google assistant speakers (Google Home and minis) set up a group to play music all together. I’ve tried to set up my Sonos Beam into this group to play music etc… all together so Google home Max, Nest minis and Sonos Beam together but cannot seem to include my new Beam. Can I please get some advice, this was one of the key reasons for me purchasing the Beam so that I could add it to my existing Google Home group of Speakers. I’m really quite disappointed now. Thanks 

Hi, I’ve set up a Sonos One in a similar location, where I previously used to have a Google mini (nest).   The google mini used to work well. I could play music, get weather/jokes, ask questions. It would recognise my voice etc.   The Sonos One is terrible! It recognises when any of us say ‘ok google’ but in the ‘my activity’ on google assistant it just has ‘unknown voice command’. It will respond (on occasion) to basic voice commands like what is the time, or it will play a playlist from Spotify, but most times it beeps when I say hey Google, and the light blinks a few times - then it goes back to playing music or ignoring me. When I check activity it says unknown voice command. how on earth do I fix this?   ​

Hi i’ve just connected my Move to google assistant. When i ask google to play something it accepts the command and repeats it back (like ‘ok playing XXXX from spotify’) but then it says something like ‘can’t play because sonos and assistant are not linked to same spotify account’). So then i have reset all my spotify accounts so that sonos and google assistant link to the same spotify account, but it still gives same error message. I fully de-authorised them and re-authorised spotify, removed and re-added google assistant, and tried again - but still same error message. Any ideas?

Hi everyone. I have been struggling with my Sonos One (Gen2) which was delivered yesterday. I have got set up GA somewhat satisfactorily now so it will play Spotify and do some other stuff, but it doesn’t seem to understand simple things like “skip”, “next”, “pause”, “stop”. It will play tracks and change volume, but not most of the basic listed here with Spotify: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3490?language=en_US Any idea what the issue could be? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I have the Beam connected to the HDMI ARC port and I am still unable to turn the TV on or off using voice commands.
