Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

The old Sonos App had a A-Z sidebar along the right side of the screen that let you scroll directly to a position in the list based on the initial letter. As I recall, this was available in lists like Songs, Artists, Albums, etc. My music collection has 1000s of albums which makes scrolling to the end very unwieldy.It’s been a year now, will this feature ever be restored to the new Sonos App? Is there another way to do this that I’m missing?For my use case, using search isn’t a replacement for this feature.

so it seems the usual issues with the app and setting up. My system - Beam Gen1, Sub Gen 1, 2 x Play:1 (plus Move and Symfonisk in other rooms) some background - recent lengthy power cut and restart caused home network issues and Sonos issues which i managed to resolve. (I ended up factory resetting all the Sonos units apparently not -recommended ) Purchase 2 x Era 100 to upgrade and move Play:1s to another room. Fresh out of the box I removed my Play:1 as a surround pair in the app then unplugged and kept them de-powered. Attempt to add Era 100s - seemed to start off ok then when adding as a surround pair only one is recognised. Tried adding to another room etc.no joy ended up following the instructions in ‘Help’ to reset the beam, initially depowered for 10s then the full setup with chime/press the rear button etc.  then the Sub dropped off the network. Couldn’t rejoin it. Started writing this topic and as I’ve just looked the Sub has turned up and looks ok and both the Era’s appear

My system was working perfectly until recent update 80.19.21 (iOS) released 4/15/25 is dropping connectivity to 2xEra 100s and 1xMove 2. I’ve rebooted WiFi router, rebooted speakers and even factory reset them and still not solved connectivity issues. All other speakers on the system are connecting as expected (e.g. 2xArc, 2xEra 300, 5xSub, 4xFive, 2xBeam, 1xSub mini, 2xOne, 1xPort, 1xConnect Gen2). Anyone else having similar issues after the recent update?

Hi, I’m looking for some help. We have built a garden office and would like to extend our existing wifi down to it. It is approximately 40m from the house and so plan to run a Ethernet cable from the existing router, which is a BT Halo 3. We have fibre to the house so a strong link to the Internet. We have tried the BT wifi discs in the past but as documented elsewhere on this forum, they did not work well with our Sonos system. Ideally, we would like the WiFi extension to cover the garden area as well. I am not very tech savvie, and have got rather lost understanding what the best way to do this might be - mesh, bridge etc. I would be very grateful if somebody could offer a little bit of advice about how to do this without costing a huge amount of money and in a way that an IT numpty could follow! We currently have a mix of Sonos devices - 10 speakers in total, 2 of which are very close to the garden and so could pick up the new WiFi signal. Many thanks for your time and patience.

Meine Sonos Arc Ultra ist per HDMI mit einem LG G4 verbunden und an diesem hängt eine Sky Box. Wenn ich die Sky Box ausschalte, geht der Fernseher automatisch auch aus. Was ist mit der Soundbar? Geht die auch automatisch aus? Denn die Statusleuchte leuchtet dann immer noch weiß,. Woran erkenne ich ob die soundbar wirklich aus ist?

I’m really loving my new immersive set with Arc Ultra, but I am struggling with one thing: when I have my Era 300 surrounds set to ambient mode (which I prefer over full), I feel that there is way too much bass coming from behind me. I love the idea of the surrounds adding ambience to stereo music, but I’m not sure why lower bass notes are included in this ambience. It gives me a weird echo effect of bass lines and kick drums being behind me, when I wish they just came from the sub which can fill the room on its own. I know I can turn down the surrounds, but then that throws off Atmos mixes.I’m curious if anyone else has the same issue, and if it’s something people have been able to get used to. Thank you!!!

Hello I have a connect:amp s2. I have had it previously  connect to my system and it worked fine. I recently change out some components and removed all of the S2 amps. I want to now add one back in and it will not go past the press the button on your connect:amp page. The button press is never recognized. I have read of a couple of instances of this happening but did not see any resolution to this issue, anyone run into this?

Hello,I have an active XM subscription, and it works perfectly on my phone, through Bluetooth, and in my car. However, I’ve been unable to get it to work on my Sonos system.I’ve reauthorized my account multiple times, and everything is up to date. I even contacted Sonos support, and they suggested that my internet speed might be the issue. However, I have 1 gig internet, so that shouldn’t be the problem.It’s becoming frustrating that I can’t get XM to work on Sonos.Can you please help me troubleshoot this issue?Thank you,

Hello, I am about to purchase a pair of Era 100 for my room in an shared apartment.I was wondering if I have previously stereo-paired 2 Era 100 via wifi ‘A’. Can I still stereo play them from my phone using bluetooth or line-in mode but whilst connecting to another wifi ‘B’?Are the speakers playing in true stereo mode?

My Sonos Roam s l has an Orange light. 

Gone!Absolutely sick to death of my Sonos 1 speaker.It’s a pig to use.I got it as a free gift too and it WAS ONCE amazing, but since they RUINED the app it’s impossible to use.It now resides in the kitchen bin until Wednesday when it will be collected with all other recycling: empty tin cans, glass bottles, cardboard etc.Good riddance Sonos!!!!…ah, that feels better.

Hope you can help? I’ve moved house so have all new WiFi and codes etc. I’ve tried to connect to my play 1 on the new system. Trouble is I’m not able to update the app with the relevant information. Below are the only pages I have on my app. Ive downloaded the app and logged in again. There are no settings buttons??? To change the WiFi to the new password - so now I’m stuck!! Why is my app so limited?  

I posted some time back () but the thread is closed to replies. I was wondering given improvements to the app, whether people are still getting/hearing of instability issues.  I’m keen to move to WiFi to see if my connection issues resolve (losing speaker, can’t stop/start tracks etc.) with moving away from SonosNet but don’t want to risk tanking my set up in the process.  Also, if I ever buy any of the new products I believe they don’t support SonosNet.

How to merge parts to have it to have speaker on the same part?Thank you

I am working on setting up a 4.1 system in our living room. (Using a Samsung Frame so wife didn’t want to use a Soundbar)We have 2 LCRs in wall with an amp (phantom center) and 2 in ceilings for surrounds with a separate amp.Debating on whether to use a 3rd party subwoofer or a Sonos Sub 4 subwoofer with the setup.Any pros/cons to each?Thanks!

Unbelievably horrible. I have wasted several Friday nights trying to get my system to work. It works one day then is  lost. Can’t wait for the class action lawsuit.

I thought the new app has sort of stabilized, but then this last week it's back to tricks and stupidity -- speakers disappearing from system, lots of mysterious playback errors where it just keeps saying "Couldn't play content" and "Something went wrong." Now it's doing a thing where it will play in one room through the touch controls but in the app the room is listed as "No content.".I've updated, rebooted, etc. Anyone have any suggestions? Or is this all filed under "WTF is wrong with the new app"?

I found a pair of Polk TSi100 bookshelf speakers and wonder if these will match my Sonos Connect Amp Gen 2?Specs for TSi100 are: 20 watts to 100 watts per channel, 8 ohms, 53 Hz to 25,000 HzSpecs for the amp are: 2 x 55W 8 ohms, 22 Hz - 20,000 HzAt a glance I thought these speakers is a close match but I do not have experience in these stuff.Also these speakers have been rated well.Can anyone help please? 

I just started using Sonos Move as my desktop PC’s speaker, and I’ve encountered an issue with it. Here is a description of how I encounter this problem:This issue is only for video media players (at least for YouTube- and Spotify videos).  At the start of the video playback sound output has little to no delay and works correctly. When pausing the video, audio stops right away, and speaker functions correctly. However, when playback is resumed, there is no sound for the first 5-7 seconds of the video. This issue persists for every video player that I try to use Sonos Move with. Issue is not caused by my PC, as it persists on my mobile device.I tried searching online for an answer and tried contacting the customer support with no luck. It’s a shame, that this issue stops me for using this speaker as my PC’s speaker and I’d really hope it gets solved. I really like the sound quality and versatility of this speaker, but this video playback issue keeps me from using it with my PC. :(  

Hi all, I have a gen 5 that I bought from new, I’ve had to reset it and I now have a green flashing light but I can’t seem to find it on my Sonos app… tried resetting a couple of times but i cant find it on the app in my iPhone….any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Right now I almost regrett to have moved to a Sonos ARC Ultra + Sub + 2xERA300 setup as the center channel of the Arc Ultra overpowers the left and right channels which means that you have almost no directional stereo effect from the front.The center channel is at least 5bB louder than the left an right channels, you can notice this easiely by playing a surround sound test video which you would usually use to finetune the channel volumes when using an AVR.We need an option to change the center channel volume of the Arc Ultra to actually hear the left and right channels.Trueplaytuning does not change the current behaviour, speech enhancement makes it worse.

this an addendum to my recent post regarding upgrading Play:1s to Era 100s which appears solved. My old Play:1s are now in a different room. These are available as a speaker pair in the Sonos app but do not show as a playback option in Apple Music Airplay.I much prefer using Apple Music for playback control, Sonos too laggy. I suspect i will need to power down speakers, router etc However i have a Sonos Move in another part of the house which shows up with no issues.Im using Netgear Orbi WiFi.

I’d like to suggest that an option is provided to allow a pair to be switched from stereo to dual mono. I know I can separate the pair to get this effect but it’s not straightforward as both speakers have Alexa enabled. Separating things confuses the setup when reconnecting the pair.  I have two Ones in the kitchen and on a nice day I relocate one to the bottom of the garden.
