Adding existing speaker for surround sound

I had two play 3 speakers in my “Living Room” set up with surround sound. For some reason one speaker disconnected from the system and I reconnected it HOWEVER it did not go back to “Living Room” it created a new location “Living Room 2”. Now neither speaker talks to each other to create surround sound. How do I move the speaker to the “Living Room” zone and then reset both so they create surround sound. I tried unplugging and rebooting the speaker however every time I attempt to drop it in the existing “Living Room” grouping it goes back into “Living Room 2”. I tried several times and am toast.

Go to your “Living room” settings and select the option Remove Surrounds.

When both your Play:3s are showing in separate rooms in the app, add them back as surrounds.

Perhaps to add a surround is needed two available speakers. Unbound the one that is still connected to the bar and start the process again.

Did you perform a factory reset to link it again or just unplug it and plug it again?

Edit: @Mr. T arrived first 😬

I unplugged and replugged in. After reading the section in SONOS about not doing a factory reset as that causes a ton of issues I decided to not go down that path.

If there are problems with the above (hopefully not) you may want to remove the Play 3s as surrounds and verify they are working properly as individual speakers before adding them back as surrounds.

Thank you. I finally had the chance to try the above and I am all set now. I appreciate the suggestion and time to respond to my inquiry. Happy holidays.
