I just bought the arc ultra and connected it to my LG oledG3836LA tv with an ultra high speed hdmi true eARC, digital sound on passthrough why is it as soon as i use my iPad and use an app and pass it through to my tv there is no sound also when i use an app on my tv (plex) the sound works but not if i try to start a danish serie ( i think the sound stream is stereo no sound at all then when I switch back from passthrough to pcm the sound returns.

I think I’d be tempted to submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, their lawyers get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
