Sonos Playbar won’t boot – solid white light and only “NAND Boot…” via JTAG

Hi everyone,

I have a Sonos Playbar that shows a solid white light immediately after plugging in the power (not flashing). Nothing else happens — it doesn’t boot or respond.

I connected a JTAG interface and it only outputs “NAND Boot…”. It seems like the u-boot bootloader might be corrupted or not starting properly.

Has anyone encountered this issue before or managed to recover a Playbar in this state?

Would it be possible to reflash the u-boot using a programmer, and if so, what tools or procedure would be needed?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

I don’t quite understand what you’re trying to do. The solid white light says the device is ready to use.

When you connect the power it will flash white first. This one does not flash at all, it’s solid white.

What happens if you try playing tv audio to it via an optical cable? Or streaming music from Spotify or other music streaming service?

What does Sonos support say about it?

That it is defect and can give me a discount coupon

And you didn’t think it relevant to tell us that?

Good luck resolving this

This isn't the best place for repair tips, there are some, but as Sonos doesn't support that not many.

I am having the same problem. And getting the same answer.

Makes sense the answer to the same problem is the same.

Sonos doesn't support self-repair but doesn't ban posts asking about it so you are unlikely to get more here. You might try searching repair sites and see if you find anything.

It is best to decide if you want the discount or not before opening the case on any Sonos device.

There are some 3rd party repair companies in the UK and EU.
