Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

After moving house my friends managed to get their ONE and 3 x PLAY:1’s connected but the fourth Play:1 is stubbornly resisting being recognised. The light flashes orange but never goes to green and no chimes ring out.  Can anyone advise what is going wrong.

We have tried all the suggested fixes. Is there a way to submit a diagnostic report?  

What happened to this company? I own 8 Sonos devices and nothing works. Customer service is no less than an hour’s wait. Need to find a new provider. Any suggestions which may allow me to keep my equipment?

Good Day,My neighbor across the street has two Sonos Play:1 speakers. I am not at her house at this time. I am trying to help her get the speakers re-connected. They were playing fine and then she went away for two weeks to bury her husband. Now, she cannot get her speakers to connect to her wifi network (Comcast modem/router combo). I have followed all of the instructions for rebooting the modem, the speakers, resetting the speakers to factory settings, but nothing works. When we plug in one of the speakers the Sonos app sees the speaker and correctly shows the serial number. It then tries to access a temporary network which turns off the wifi...apparently trying to connect via 4G. It gets a no internet connection when doing this. When we try the older app it connects, but then it tells us that the speaker has the more recent firmware and to use the most current app which we do without success. Sonos did not find my iTunes playlists when updating my library.iTunes stores playlist info in the file iTunes Music Library.xml. I found it on my Asus in C:\users\Asus\Music\iTunes. I tried adding this folder to the Sonos library but still no playlists. I keep my music in a different folder C:\iTunes Music, which I add to the Sonos Music Library. Sonos finds my music here. Sonos seems to need the xml file in the same folder as the music. So I copied and pasted the xml file to my C:\iTunes Music folder. Now Sonos finds the playlists. I just have to remember to copy and paste when I create a new playlist. BTY, I love Genius for making playlists.I am not sure how I found this solution. I may have to credit someone else. But I could not find in prior conversations. So I thought this post may be of help to someone.

Hello, I recently got a Move 2 and love it. I added Apple Music and it works great! However, weeks later I am trying to add Pandora and Amazon to the content services section. The message I am getting after clicking “add to sonos” is “service not found” and then only one button that says done. I have restarted the Move 2, my phone. All apps are updated and on the same wifi. Any ideas? I can use Bluetooth but cannot add them in the native sonos app. Also, I have searched this forum and don’t see anything additional that has helped. TYIA! edit: I have an iPhone 15 fully updated. 

I have a pretty specific issue. I have a projector (Epson 4K Projector EH-TW7000) hooked up to my apple tv (4k) with hdmi. I’m considering the purchase of a sonos sound bar, and to try it out I figured I’d hook up my sonos roam. It pairs seamlessly (although it will not allow me to set it up as a default audio device) and while watching something I’m quite happy with it.But, each time new media is started (e.g. a youtube video, but even each seperate ad), or when I exit media to the menu, the image goes black for about 15 seconds (audio continues).This problem does not occur when I use a different screen with the same setup, of when I play the audio through my projector only.I hope this sounds familiar to someone!   

I'm not able to complete the software update for my Sonos roam sl. I'm using android phone Asus Rog phone 7. The speaker connected to WiFi showing in the app but when it comes to the update it says error 1101 and when I try again it shows error 1106. I tried for hours to reset everything my phone my router my speaker. The WiFi works just fine for everything else but the Sonos app. I'm really angry I don't understand why I have to go through all this update hustle to use a Bluetooth speaker. I will never use WiFi on it. I should be able to just turn it on and blast some music. Now it looks like I have bought a 200 dollar paperweight 

Got a new Roam that manages to connect to WiFi during setup but then told the speaker needs to update. It won't update for some reason and then the app (android) is just stuck on that screen. Tried factory resetting speaker and re installing app etc but still isn't working. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help.

I have an old Sonos Connect that feeds into an old Onkyo receiver in my hearth room.  The receiver drives two sets of passive ceiling mounted speakers (through wall mounted resistor controls for volume).  Looks like my receiver is about to shoot craps so I am looking to replace it, but continue use of the old Connect I have in place.  Don’t want to upgrade as I have other rooms/old Sonos speakers set up throughout the house in different zones/groupings so just want an easy solution to replace my amp for the hearth room.  Would something like the WiiM Amp work for me (and perhaps offer some added benefit that I could stream other stuff through it to access my speakers)?  Or is there a better/easier solution?  Seems to me that it is a waste to buy a full blown receiver as all I need is an amp to drive my speakers.  Thanks for any advice!!!!  Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the

I’ve just upgraded to the latest version of the Sonos app, v80.05.04, but now I can play any content services!I have 3 services connected including Deezer and BBC sounds, and I can search and select music or radio channels but whenever I actually try to select and play something from Deezer I get an error “something went wrong try again” but it never works.if I select a BBC Sounds channel the play button spins for a while but then stops and nothing happens!if I go to my music library and select tracks they will play, but if I do a system wide search and then pick something from my music library I get an error message with a link to check service status even  though it’s my local library and connects fine if I manually pick a track! another pile of s**t from Sonos!I used to be a major fan but after recent updates I’m getting close to giving up on a 8 speaker multoroom setup!   

The Sonos app on my iPhone is not working.  It can’t load my services and recent plays are not there.  What is going on with it???

Something that I have found frustrating about playback of FLAC encoded files (on a local media server) is that playback can be very inconsistent, and it’s often not obvious why.After a bit of investigation, it seems that one reason is that the track can be encoded in a way that Sonos doesn’t support, and yet the system tries to play it anyway. The example I have here is OK (2-channel, 44.1kHz) except for one parameter: it is encoded at a bit-depth of 32, while Sonos only officially supports up to 16 bit-depth.The problem is that the track plays OK for about 2 minutes and then just stops playing. Oddly other tracks from the same album - also encoded with bit-depth of 32 - play fine to the end. My system has been essentially bricked since the new app. I have probably six grand or so in components that are barely usable. I’m unable to run it on my desktop as of a couple of years ago (won’t support Win 7), the new build won’t run on my Ipad (it is too old to support the required iOS) and the app is completely unstable on our Android devices, a pair of Motorola G7s with Android 11.Attempting to open the app on either Android results in a black screen with Sonos logo that freezes for three to five minutes until the system pops a message that the app has quit responding with selections to cancel or wait. Selecting wait, oddly enough, will get me into the app but it is unstable when it opens. It is marginally responsive to volume adjustments or completely unresponsive.The updated UI is terrible compared to the last one that functioned. I cannot be the only one having this problem. After the last update, I wrote to Support 2 times about my problem with the App, but have heard NOTHING yet. The problem is, when I press Sonos and have to select start or stop of a room, it usually takes 5 minutes to get to it, which is a very BIG DETERIORATION. After this update, Sonos has become VERY MISERABLE and particularly UNMANAGABLE.

I have a pair of Fives and Ones and have been using a Sonos Connect for years with them.  I had originally bought the Connect as a means to bring in audio from my CD player.  I have now gone to streaming only and don’t need that feature.   My understanding is that the Connect creates its own network which the speakers connect with.In an effort to reduce clutter, etc I am considering getting rid of the Connect and having all the speakers link directly to my home Wifi network. Is there a down side to this?   Am I going to see any performance issue if I do? How best to do this? Thx
