Hey… I was looking for another headphone stand for my new Sonos Ace. The one I already have is occupied by my Dali IO4 headphones. That stand is a „just mobile“ one and I really like it for the Dali, but for Ace… hmm… never thought a stand could look such different with other headphones.Â
So I started to look around on the net and after two hours I was completely gaga.
There‘s a lot of low budget plastic to be found or some really expensive overkill stuff.Â
After all I was happy to find a stand at our local second hand market (in Germany we call it „Flohmarkt“) for 10€ that was like new. With Google lens I found out it probably came from AliExpress and is 25€ new. Full of metal with a silikon top and really well crafted.Â
So I‘m curious what you think about storing Ace and how your solutions look like.
I‘m starting with some photos showing Ace on the two stands I mentioned above. Â

Thanks for the photo. Looks like leather or imitation leather, right!?
The design looks not bad, but is there no risk for the headband getting loose if being under pressure all time? I never thought about using such „head formed“ stands, because of that fear.Â
@Schlumpf
Yes it is PU leather. I have had it since the Ace was first released and the Ace band doesn’t appear to be getting loose at all. Good point though, I hadn’t considered that. PS. I just extended the cups slightly and the Ace still fits well on the stand but there is very little difference in the Ace profile compared to when they are off the stand. So I don’t think there will be an issue with the Ace getting loose due to being in the stand.
Ross.
Thx for clarifying, Ross. The important fact you mentioned probably is that there’s just a minimal difference between headband in relaxed position and on the stand. Your stand regarding to that point seems to be much smaller than the others designed like a real head. Â

I think this stand by Benks looks really sharp with my white Ace:

I’m cheap, just drop them on top of my Play 5, easy to see the charging light and hook up the cable to charge.
I’ve not been a fan of headphones stands as I prefer to keep my cans in a well designed case. No, I’m not referring to the OEM case that is shipped with the Ace.
Below is the case I use with all my headsets including the Ace. The case is made by a manufacturer in San Francisco, CA under the name of WaterField aka SFbags. It’s designed for Apple AirPods Max in that it has a low-grade fold up sleep magnet.  Here’s the link.  Below are pics:

LOL… The quick and easy way.
@AjTrek1Â
Wow… that cases really look amazing and if my original Sonos case die in future (to be honest for me it’s not such bad as many people say), I will consider taking one of them though starting at 89$ isn’t quite cheap. But I prefer such cases for traveling. At home I like to put Ace on a stand. But looking at the number of your cases/ headphones I suppose the cases are a good choice for you.
@GuitarSuperstar
I completely agree… that stand looks like a charm. I found it on Amazon for less than 40€ and it’s also available in black. Really fair price and good looking. I wonder if there’s also a model with wireless charger option at the base, because on Amazon some of the product photos are showing an usb port and cable at the back. Â
Edit:Â
Yes, there was such a model, but unfortunately it’s sold out. Photo from Benks website… Â

I got the Sanus stand that Sonos sells. I am happy with it, accept for the little rubber/plastic tab on the side that is supposed to hold or hide the cable? I can’t get that to work right.
I do like @AjTrek1s cases, but not the price, and feels like something with are harder shell would be better. I like the interior pocket a lot, as it seems it would be great to store a portable charger there.Â
I didn’t care for the Sonos case that much as first, but it’s growing on me. I’ll stick with that for now.

The Sanus stand looks great, too. But the price is at a max level I would spend on a stand. Cable management imo mostly is some sort of finger gymnastics.
I think they would have done better by leaving that. Â

Other images show that plastic/rubber piece attached to the side, and I don’t see how. If It’s just some sort of grip for the USB plug as in your image, ok. But the pic below bothers me.

Danny, as I understand that by looking at the photos, the clip can be fixed on the usb c cable as shown in my screenshot, and when the cable isn’t plugged into Ace you can put the clip (with attached cable) to its place (shown on your screenshot). I think the end of the cable then should be covered by the stands base.Â
