Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Good afternoon, I have been operating Sonos successfully for the last four years such that we have music, at the touch of my iPad, throughout the house. The system was linked to a Toshiba Hard Drive, containing my music, plugged into a USB port on my desktop computer.  Recently the desktop computer failed and had to be replaced. I am now trying to set up Sonos to communicate with the Toshiba Hard Drive plugged into the USB port of the replacement computer.  However, I am now unable to link the hard drive to the Sonos System via the Sonos app.  Going into the Sonos Menu, if I click on “Manage” next to the System name, the option to access the Music Library is simply not there! – although, I am sure that my search via Google indicates this should be the case. The iPad I am using is an iPad Pro running iOS version 17.5.1 so it is fully up to date. Advice on how to link the ha

My Roam had been plugged in but unused for several months (it is in a vacation house that I visit only periodically). When I attempted to use it, it would not turn on. I scanned this forum and found many others in the same boat and saw suggestions for attempting to get the Roam to work - none of them worked.  I initiated a chat with Sonos Tech Support (note: phone wait was over 90 minutes and I was 30th in line for chat attention, but I hung in there). The very helpful technician had me go through the troubleshooting steps (12 second power button, 5 second power button and play button) but nothing worked. Sonos will replace my Roam with a Roam 2. The technician strongly recommended that when a Roam is not going to be used for an extended period of time, it should be disconnected from the power (either USB-C or wireless). While it is unclear what an extended period of time means, I’ll try this with my new Roam 2. I hope this works for me and

HI  My Sonos and Spotify are up to date. But during or after the ads, i dont have any sound. Has to do with Sonos, because i don't have any issue in the car. Someone a solution for this? 

I am trying to access various bbc radio stations via bbc sounds, but can’t get anything. Is there currently a problem? Thx

Can I add my music library using Sonoma 14.5?

Updated to the new app yesterday.  When I try to use the volume sliders on a group of speakers, or individual speakers within the group, the volume does not change and the slider just pops back to the previous position.  Tried repeatedly to get it to work, no luck. Anyone else?

Does anyone else use there Sonos system to listen to books and podcasts from Audible? Just feeling like the music aspect of the system is the most important thing and any other type of listening is not a big deal. I love being able to go from room to room while listening to music or a book without interruption.What frustrates me most is not being able to find books by title or author in the Sonos system (even before the app change). Opening a book in the Audible library and sharing it with my Sonos speakers works. I wonder why it  The problem with this is that the book doesn't show up in the "recently played" list.At present, starting in the past few days, I can't do the share between apps because when I share, the volume on the speakers comes on at 100%. Starting this morning, 8/4/24, there is now no way of controlling the volume, that still comes on at 100%, because the app is not acknowledging that it is playing anything.

I don’t know what happen to the Sonos App….Today, I discover that the language option (the globe) disappear from the keyboard on iphone! I am unable to search music in other languages besides the default English !!!  Did Sonos mess up again? or is it something else?

Hi there! My system (Playbase with 2x Play:1, 2x ONE, port, Amp) worked well with AirPlay for years.Although all speakers are still shown in the control panels of iPhone and iMac 24” (14 Pro, M1, both latest OS, Aug. 2024), the following of them suddenly cannot be addressed any longer by AirPlay:- Playbase with 2x Play:1 (one room)- 2x ONE (separate rooms)Unplugging/booting of the speakers, the router and iPhone/iMac were without success. How can I put the mentioned speakers back into the AirPlay system?Or the he other way around: delete them from the control panel and install again?🤔 Thx in 4ward 4 any help!🙏🏻😌

Since the release of the new app, I’ve noticed that when I shuffle one of my playlists, the result always seems to be the same. It’s as though for a particular playlist and instance of the app, whatever is meant to be seeding the pseudo-randomisation is using the same seed value every time. This is an irritation for the shorter playlists, but for the longer playlists, it means I’m only ever hearing a few songs from the playlist. It’s all the more disappointing as during the last year the degree of randomness in shuffle had seemed to be improving. 🙄

I have my music on a linux computer and want to play it through my Amp (on the same wired ethernet network). What is the best server software that the Amp can readily access?

I suspect no easy answer, and I'm done farting around with this new app, but any obvious trick to get access back to Deezer? I rebooted my router, uninstalled Deezer as a service (noting Sonos Radio is a permanent 'feature'), but I still can't access Deezer. I just get the below.I've given up (for now) trying to add my sub back or figure out how I can maintain access to some of my speakers (I had to unplug them last time to get them to stop playing and didn't feel like getting the ladder out today to plug them back in), but would love to at least get one pair of my Fives to work with Deezer.Any ideas? 

I see under latest app version we have now the option to connect or share a music library on a pc or nas. Used to be able to connect my nas music content on the old Sonos apps but now after trying for an hour cannot get a connection. Any advice?

I’m sorry for writing this as I know this subject has been discussed before; however, it’s annoying, and there is no good reason to put up with it!  I only have the Sonos system about a month.  I bought the Beam and then added the subwoofer.  Why would I spend over $1000 for supposedly a first class system and have it turn on whenever it feels like it.  I have no speakers, only a television is connected to this system.  I do not have Spotify.  I have Amazon music which I haven’t even activated.  As a customer, it’s not my job to do anything except use the equipment as it was designed.  It’s not designed to wake me at all hours when it decides to turn on.  I turn the volume down on my television before turning it off.  The TV and the Beam are controlled by a Comcast remote.  I tried to de-program the remote but that didn’t help at all.  Next step is brain surgery.  Paying all that money will not stop me from throwing the damn thing out the window or giving it away.  IT IS NOT MY RESP

If I stream sound to Era 100/300 over Bluetooth or over the line-in accessory cable, can I get that sound to be played in sync multi room over other Eras speakers in the same WiFi network?

Trying to assist someone with slight hearing issue to better hear TV dialog without turning up the Beam soundbar so loud. We added 2 Era 100 speakers to it, sitting one on each side of sofa, but they don’t play the voice / dialog. Is there a way to make them just mirror the soundbar? Or even just be the primary? Or…  so they just become a 2nd set of speakers. We don’t need 5.1 surround, and he doesn’t want to have to put on headphones. Would really appreciate any help

I’d like to make a suggestion. Wouldn’t it be better setting up alarms for music to come on in rooms at certain times if you could tick boxes for the rooms you want it played in. This instead of the grouped rooms included button. Sometimes you have been playing music in say all the rooms, then the alarm/music will play in possibly every room. The this can be annoying some people living in the property and wake them up. You sometimes forget to alter it back before going to bed. Also the Sonos alarm chime can be very annoying when it come on instead of playing the radio/music you have set up for the alarm. These are issues I’ve not been happy about for a long time. Even before the the problems with the new app. 

I last played a deezer song a month ago and when I have returned to app today Its STILL there and I can not change or remove it from the screen.I have re installedappand its STILL there.This followed the original fault of not connecting at all to Deezer last month.I am at the end of my tether with Sonoa now  HELP appreciated cos quite frankly the speaker is currently USELESS to me 

hello I am back again, moire issues with app,YAY love to speakers hate the app such a shame. well its nice now that i can access my local music library again thanks (that was a joke) whats up with sonos playlist on the phone app?on the desk top version i can create a playlist and add songs to the playlist but can not on the phone app. example only “sonos favorites” is visible on home screen no favorites, i don not see a way to create a playlist nor do i see any playlist. I can create playlist and add songs to those playlist on desktop only. in my lengthy dive into the community lots of others having same issue only fix ive seen is to use a different  app “sonoPhone” really????? thanks sonos.am i missing an actual solution? 

Installed the new app and was prompted to upgrade my Play:1 during system setup. Upgrading has been going on for several hours now and seem stuck on about 75%. What shall I do?
