Hi,

I'm trying to connect two new Move 2 speakers to my existing system to no avail.

I've previously connected 4 other speakers to the WiFi (One & SL types) with no issues whatsoever.

The amps and other products have all been installed professionally.

The issue is when it comes to sharing the WiFi from my phone to the speaker. It simply fails every time and asks for the password once before it gives up and says there is an issue. I called the helpline and they said it's because of the WiFi web I use all over the house. She said it will not connect to such a network. I explained that the other 4 speakers I installed all connected fine. The operator didn't know what to suggest other than. Changing my whole WiFi system! Ridiculous.

I've tried connecting them via a wired connection but they don't acknowledge being plugged in and constantly go through the same circle above. I've tried turning them off and back on (they don't turn back on u less put back on the dock) to see if they then recognise the Combo cable but they don't.

I bought them for the garden hence the choice in model so a long term wired connection is not a solution. I have a great WiFi web which covers the whole garden so my plan was to set them up to the system wired then try to activate the WiFi.

In theory that should work as I've tried setting one of them up on another WiFi router. Then added the WiFi router I need to use for the system before switching it over and deleting the first one... It works. But as I can't then move the speaker to another system even on the same network I had to factory reset it. It's absolutely bonkers!

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Im having the same issue with my new Sonos Move 2 that came in yesterday.  My Port, Arc and Era 100 speakers are connected to my Mesh network and work great.  For the life of me, i cannot connect the Move 2 when its asking for a password. Have tried factory reset, mesh/router reset, app sing off/on, disconnected all other Sonos products and im ready to give up & return it.

Im happy to say i got it to work!   I switched over to the modems wifi, connected the Move 2 to it and updated it. Once updated, i reconnected back over to the Mesh network and Ta-da! I was able to register it to the Mesh wifi.  The update did it because it asked me to hit the forward/backwards buttons on the Move 2 when connecting it to the App where as before, it was asking to to press the play/pause button.   Updating the sonos device prior to product registration did the trick.

Thanks for the response.

I did a similar thing but once I transferred it to the mesh it created a new system for the Move 2 and wouldn't allow me to add it to my existing system. I read that the only way to add it to the system is a factory reset which then undone the update and it then wouldn't reconnect to the mesh. I was on the phone to the technical team for an hour and forty minutes yesterday and he ran out of ideas.

I also bought the Sonos Combo Adapter and tried a wired connection. That cost me £40 and did nothing... The technician on the phone didn't even know what it was!

Very frustrating but I'll have to send it all back.

Don't return! I managed to sort it today!

Have you tried using another device to make the connection? Try a tablet or other phone to do it and if you don't have one try clearing the cache and all Sonos data then delete and reinstall the app.

Worked for me today thankfully
