Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

The first Sonos app was poor but amazingly SONOS have been able to make this one worse. I cannot add anything and the podcasts I had saved are missing. Give it up SONOS and open up the source code and let the internet write your app because you are unable.  

The new app is so frustrating. There used to be a search function where I could choose to search by Song title, Artist, Station, etc. I would get results from a variety from several different platforms. Now that all appears to be gone.  How can I search for specific songs to add to my playlists? Oh, wait..the playlists have disappeared too.

I’m still of the opinion that the new architecture of the Sonos products is doomed.  If it was solid a lot more of the issues people are experiencing would be fixed by now or would not have occurred in the first place.  My gut tells me that the only reason that they can’t roll back the app is because there is now a new device in the mix that relies on it: the headphones.Anyway, my opinion is that Sonos could simplify their architecture and speed up product development if they introduced a new product to manage the in-home Sonos network.  I’m not talking about a Sonos-net wifi here a-la Boost.  What I mean is a central HUB to manage communication with the cloud and to monitor and report on the in-home speaker configuration.Think of the simplification that this would provide for the engineers.  Think of the reduction in inter-speaker chat that would result in not having the speakers to keep track among themselves about what is playing where.  They could just focus on streaming the music.

Hello - Let me be clear, I have visited other threads about this topic and have tried most of the suggested fixes.  This includes unplugging all devices and restarting my router.  This problem rarely, if ever, occurred with the older version of the Sonos App.  My wi-fi signal is quite strong, I was sure to do a speed test and I am running above standard, so that is not the issue.  I will be streaming music on Sonos and suddenly it goes totally silent.  Mind you, when I check the status on the Sonos app, it shows confirmation visually (little bars moving) that music is supposedly playing but it no sound is coming out of any of my devices.  I can usually fix this by unchecking all of my devices and then adding one of them back in and restarting my music again and then gradually adding the other devices in.  Sure, this fixes it for the time being but it inevitably occurs again and again.  Please just be honest with us about what is going  on.  I used to really rave about Sonos and now I f

Don't ever buy Sonos.  Have large investment in equipment and they screw you with a software upgrade that doesn't support your equipment and won't let you stay on old software to keep using what you already have

Can I easily switch between running the sub when I am playing music via the architectural speakers, but then use the same sub when watching TV and using the Arc soundbar? I don’t want the tv sound to play through the architectural speakers. Both the Arc and the architectural speakers are in one large great room with very high vaulted ceiling.

Hi guys.  on s1 and s2 especially after the latest update sound will cut off completely for a second for ages then play fine for about 3 mins and it starts again.  before it was exclusively on plex streaming but now it’s on all streaming channels on my sky tv. It’s now doing it on non streaming services like my sky Q.  I’ve done many troubleshooting but nothing works. I was saving up for some Era 300s and an arc but this is a complete mess atm.  any suggestions?

I am done with the new Sonos app. It even removed my playlist which I took years to build!! I want to sell my Sonos speakers and playbar and move on. They need to fire the head who released this glitchy and useless update. Can I get the lower level update of the app?? Today's chat with Sonos:Thank you for your patience! I want to let you know that I have checked and this is a known issue. We are investigating this issue and working on a fix, but there is no time estimate for this fix at this time. In the meantime, if you still want to play Apple Music, you can do so via AirPlay or Bluetooth.Does anyone have a similar problem with Apple Music?

The app upgrade is AWFULL! Why have you made it so crappy? User experience is a complete downgrade to the old version. Why fix a problem that doesnt exist?

All of my digital music is stored on my western digital Nas Drive. The previous S1 and S2 apps allowed me to update my music index whenever I added or deleted music on my Nas Drive. I can’t find that option in the new app.   I was also able to create shortcuts to the various music folders on my Nas Drive through the old app, but apparently the new version no longer supports that option. Why is that?

I've tried a few times to mount my expensive Sonos wall mounts for the Era 100 speakers unsuccessfully. The first time, using the anchors Sonos provides in the kit, the weight was too much for the wall and it started pulling out immediately, would not sit flush with the wall, so I took them down. I patched the holes and moved on to another attempt.  I tried a few other anchors since, but they all have issues (toggle bolt holes are too large and you can still see part of the hole when the wall mount base is installed, screws are not flush and therefore prevent the wall mount cover from sliding onto the base, etc.)Anyone have any suggestions other than drilling directly into wall studs (no studs located where I'm trying to put these speakers) or returning the mounts (too late to get a refund and no longer have the boxes or the original hardware that's now fallen behind the drywall)?Currently I'm most likely looking at taking the loss and buying new cheaper mounts that do not have the sam

My Sonos is back to normal. CAVEAT: I always stream vvia music services not a local library/playlist. What'd I do? 1. In Sonos App settings, DELETE CACHE, DELETE DATA (do BOTH). 2. DELETE ALL Sonos APPS (old S1 Sonos + the new app). 3. DEREGISTER ALL SPEAKERS from all music services that required it (i.e., Amazon). 4. DISABLE SONOS SKILL on Amazon. 5. REINSTALL SONOS APP (be sure to DISABLE AUTO-UPDATE after this fiasco) 6. RE-enable SONOS SKILL. 6. Add speakers and all music services anew.

I am trying to create separate S1 & S2 systems, but currently both systems can see the other systems players, which gives rise to a number of problems.  I have recently become aware that running 2 systems on the same wifi network requires each to have a unique Household Id.  I am using Phonos Plus to migrate Playlists etc between the 2 systems and it has a feature which displays the Household Id; however, the id it reports is different to that which appears when I access the Sonos internal information via the direct link: IPAddr:1400/support/review.For example, here are the ids of my S1 and S2 systems according to the Sonos Zone Player info:HHID_***********************************HHID_***********************************and here is the id displayed for both systems by Phonos Plus:HHID_************************i.e. the two are identical up to the period in the first 2 examples.My question is do already I have 2 systems with the necessary unique Household Ids, as suggested by the Sonos

Can I connect a Sonos Ace to a Bluetooth Dac, like the iFi Zen Blue 3? If so, does it need to be a wired connection or can it be a bluetooth connection? Is there any real benefit?

Is it possible to use a Sonos Amp as a stand alone amp?I have a WiiM streaming device plugged in to the line inputs on the back of the Sonos amp but not getting any audio.I’m using passive Polk Audio speakers with the amp.Any help with this would be appreciated! 

I recently unplugged my play 1 whilst decorating, once I’ve plugged it back in and powered it up it won’t connect to my WiFi and the Sonos app can’t seem to find it I have a weak white flashing light, I’ve done all the troubleshooting but to no avail 

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before.Anyways, I have the Sonos Ray soundbar connected to my TV via the optical audio cable. My problem is if I am watching my Tv on my Freesat box via HDMI 1 port then switch over to my Amazon Firestick which is on HDMI 2 port the sound often does not transfer. I have to go through a nightmare of switching the TV inputs from one system to another until the Sonos Ray bar eventually picks it up. It can take upto 5 mins at times. Very frustrating. Thinking I should have bought a Bose as I also hate the Sonos controller app 😒Any Ideas what is wrong?Cheers.

I was using the BBC Sounds from within the Sonos app S2 to play live BBC radio on my Beam but the sound has started cutting out on a regular basis which is very irritating. As I have apple devices I have switched to using bbc sounds app on my device and airplay to the Beam. It doesn’t cut out and in my view the sound quality is better.Having spent a considerable amount of time doing checks on my network it appears that it is actually the Sonos App that is the issue. Having also lost my music library on the recent Sonos app upgrade and not had a chance to add it back in - I do wonder what the point of the Sonos App is? Beyond doing initial configuration I can do everything I need without it to a more stable and better quality. Very disappointing from Sonos.
