Sonos Beam Gen 2 surround sound issue

I recently purchased a Sonos Beam Gen 2 with Sub Mini & Era 100 to use as a cinema system.

Installation went fine and I am able get a 5.1 feed via the HDMI ARC connection for the DVB broadcasts, when available, and the installed apps (Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc).

However, I am unable to get a multi channel sound feed from either my Virgin media stream box or my Blu-ray, both will only provide PCM stereo.

Sonos helpline were not particularly helpful once they knew the TV feed was working and despite multiple diagnostic submissions decided it was my settings and offered no potential solution.

Despite resetting all my equipment, checking for updates, etc I'm still unable to resolve the issue.

Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated as the situation is so frustrating.

For reference my TV is a Panasonic TX-50AS600B AND Blu-ray a Panasonic DMP-BD60

Thanks for the responses.

Checked my settings again and all as suggested, it would appear that it's the TV that's the issue as suggested.

On the Blu-ray player, make sure the Dolby and DTS audio settings are set to Bitstream and the BD-Video Secondary Audio setting is set to ON.

It is also very possible your TV is unable to pass through 5.1 audio from external media devices.

Make sure the TV Audio Preference is set to multichannel.

However this is a 10 yr old TV so it is quite possible the ARC port can only emit DD 2.0 for external inputs.
