Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

For past few weeks service has Sucked???  Long time user. Home and 3 restaurants yet lately it just stops playing. System says it is but nothing. Won’t let you group or ungroup just wont work. Every half hour we are restarting the devices. They aren’t even a year old?  Very sad!!!

Before today, I had given up on using the app after the app update, but the speakers generally worked with AirPlay. So while I couldn’t really do several rooms at the same time, I had a solution that kinda worked. Today first Airplay stopped working (played for some seconds then stopped, then “can’t connect” despite one of the devices literally being hardwired on the LAN) - then two speakers disappeared from the system, again. After cursing at them, I figured a factory reset and re-add would work. Except it doesnt.You folks hate your customers so much that you won’t roll back the app to a state where it used to work (pre May). I guess you think your headphone customers are more important.Well joke’s on you. After 15 years as a loyal customer and umpteen recommendations, I quit. I will be replacing my over $5000 in Sonos gear with BlueSound and Homepods (since the kids just want alarms and voice control). Goodbye. Every single one of my many audiophile friends will hear of my experience

Hello, For the amount of money I have spent on Sonos, they have to pivot to the original companies prurpose. I could have purchased a Hi-Fi amp, and beautifully crafted speakers for the same cost. SONOSs' app update has failed and left owners with brick devices and in the lurch once again. The google disconect with GEN 1 speakers and app update making speakers useless,  and within 2 years of purchase is also unforgivable. l keep my suround (Play Bar, Sub, 2x Play One,  and a Play 3. I sold a couple of Play 5s. I am NOT going to buy any new product, when every update makes devices useless. You can spend $5,000 much better on high quality wired equipment that you control.For this amount of money you can get some serious hardware and never have to deal with an app, or a poor update ever.The constant cancellation of threads and conversations in this community space is also telling. Stop deleting the threads & stopping those who are having conversations about the value of your product &

Can not access my play1 on my iphone 14 airplay.  It also does not show in my bluetooth. Doesn’t the play1 work with airplay2?

I nearly always have to turn WiFi on my phone off and then on again for Sonos app sys 2 on Android to recognize my Sonos system. You ight know about this defect but I thought it worth a message to ensure someone is aware of it. Tha app on PCs don't have this problem.

I want to downgrade the system to S1. My system has 2 x Sonos 5 Gen 2 ; 2 x Sonos 1; Sonos Move Gen1; Sonos One SL (I am tired of the slow response to volume changes with the new app and also occasional streaming stoppages - which never happened before) Reading the Sonos product compatibility page there is a confusing note about Sonos One SL“One SL cannot be added to Sonos systems using the S1 Controller app. One SLs that are already part of an S1 system will continue to work as they do today.”Would greatly appreciate if anyone can:a) confirm or not if I will be able to downgrade successfully to S1 with all the speakersb) give a process to achieve the downgrade Thanks in advance.

I’m a freshman who just moved into my college dorm and am struggling mightily to get my two One SLs setup. The dorm has two WiFi networks: a secure one that phones, laptops, and computers can connect to, and a bring your own device network meant for use with all other devices (but doesn’t allow phones to access). After being unable to set up my system using either WiFi network, I tried with Ethernet cables (which I tested and confirmed did work with other devices) again without any luck. Curious if anyone has any tips or troubleshooting advice.

Sonos Sub Gen2 not powering up . I have contacted Sonos via the web and they keep asking me to disconnect and hold reset button. I have looked into this before and also checked the power lead with my other Sonos products so I no it’s all ok. No light at all is coming on so I know the unit has died . It is just over 5 years old so will Sonos repair it under the consumer rights act or will it have to be thrown away . For such an expensive sub I was hoping it might not break and last a little longer than 5 years.what are my options?????

My music library is not bringing over or indexing any of the music from the mapped folder.  It had been working fine for awhile using the NAS workaround that has been documented.  The folder can still add fine but nothing indexes.  The entire music library folder is empty even after trying to manual update it.desktop version 16.3 build 80155014Any ideas? anyone? Moderator edit: combined posts

I’ve read every article, etc. and my ROAM SL has never been able to work with the upgraded app.  I only use the device to augment my TV Sonos ARC.  I don’t stream music or use any other function.  Can I just use the original app?  I don’t want an upgrade that is killing me.  Tell me where I can get the old app.

So I factory reset a pair of Gen 1 Play 1's and a Playbase to give to my daughter.  That appears to have worked but I am left with the speakers still showing in my system as disconnected.  Why is there no way for me to remove those completely.  Very annoying.  Further, I am trying to rename a pair of Play Ones to replace the ones I am giving away.  I have tried renaming them several times, they are unpaired, and it keeps reverting back to the old name.  Is this another bug in the App?  

Like many, I am a victim of Sonos stupid ‘upgrade’ resulting in Error 913.I am on S2 and cannot access music, so I am looking to buy an NAS. I understand that it must have SMBv2 or 3 (I’m afraid I have no idea what this means!). I have Sonos Roam and Play 5 and my music file says it is 107GB (yes I probably do need to do some clearing out of stuff I never listen to!).I would welcome any help and suggestions for how to proceed and what exactly to look for. I have just been hung up on by a support person whilst in the middle of an online chat.. I am losing my mind here trying to downgrade a factory reset sonos one (2nd gen) to use with my existing s1 system. I already have one of these speakers on the system but it won’t let me add this one.. This article https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/downgrade-a-sonos-product-to-s1 keeps refers to things which just don’t appear as options anymore. I have tried ‘adding a missing product’ I have tried for hours to downgrade the speaker but it just doesn’t seen possible. Please help

I am having a lot of inconsistencies with utilizing dobly atmos on my PS5. I have my Samsung TV set up with the PS5 connected to HDMI, arc soundbar connected to TV via eARC, and audio settings on the TV set to “pass through” (has PCM, auto, and pass through settings). On my PS5 it is updated and I have the audio settings as such: HDMI device AV amplifier - Channel 7.1 - audio priority Dolby Atmos.I have the Era 300s set up in a square room (high vaulted ceiling) approximately 6-10’ from listening position on sonos brand stands. They are facing the TV which sits on a cabinet only entertainment center with the ARC sitting in front. I have trueplay tuned the room both on the sonos app and with the PS5 controller through PS5 settings. When I look at my sonos app the only time I can get Dolby Atmos to play is the main menu music on the PS5. Sonos roam charge indicator is blinking with very low density. You almost can’t see the led is blinking. Roam doesn’t react anymore. Already tried a reset. Battery dead?

The old app had the ability to “play in another room” by clicking the three dots to the right of a song or such.  Is this hurried in the new app, or coming, or what?
