Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I have a MacbookAir on my network upon which is a folder of 4692 songs.  I have added it to my music library, but when shuffled, only 1907 songs appear in the queue.  No amount of tweaking seems to change this situation. I just want all the songs to play in random order.  Is there some other way to achieve this?

I need some technical help here please. I am currently running an Arc, Sub 3 and an Amp with two wired ceiling speakers as one room. I am upgrading to an Arc Ultra and Sub 4 and want to connect them to the current amp that has two wired ceiling speakers to run as one room, as before.I have removed the original Arc and Sub 3, factory reset them and moved them to another TV. They connected, renamed and working fine, so they are out of play.I have set up and connected the Arc Ultra to the TV and have it up and running. I was able to connect the Sub 4 to wired speaker amp, which is named Great Room.  When I originally connected the Ultra, it asked me where to connect and gave my Great Room amp as a location, which I selected. When Ultra connected it created a new room called Great Room 2. Now I have two separate rooms. Great Room, which is the wired speakers and the Sub 4 and Great Room 2, which is the Ultra. Hi EveryoneI cant get the ARC Ultra to show ATMOS 7.1 it will only show ATMOS 5.1I was so looking forward to the 9.1.4 setup showing the 7.1 on the App?I am playing on a TV with eARCH and currently using the PLEX player.(All my 4K BluRay ATMOS disc is ripped with all content to mkv)My Surround receiver shows it correctly. My questions:Is there a difference in quality between the Atmos 7.1 vs Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 playback? Is this the HDMI problem? do I need to invest in a Switch like the FeinTech VAX04101A or the HDFury Arcana to get ATMOS Recognized correctly? Would a Shield Pro fix this problem? Has ANYONE gotten a ATMOS 7.1 to show up on the Sonos Ultra App? I can see it shows DTS 5.1 when playing old movies does this mean it now plays DTS?Thanks looking forward to hearing from the experts :-)Best regardsCasperse  

Today my Sonos desktop app stopped working correctly on my Macbook Pro laptop.  The desktop app boots up and for a fraction of a second all looks normal, i.e., I see all of the various parts of my Sonos system show up and the music menu on the right etc.  Then all of a sudden that goes away and the app displays a message “Searching for your Sonos System...” This resolves to “Sonos found on this network.  Update your system.  All your settings and services will be saved.”  There are two buttons: “Update” and “More Options...”  I click on Update and I get a pop up window that says “No update required. Your Sonos system is up to date.”  One of the choices under More Options is to reset the app.  If I choose that option, the app closes and nothing happens.  When I re-open the app, it asks if I am connecting to an existing system.  I click the “Connect to existing system” button and it tells me that the connection is successful.  I click the “Done” button and the app goes b

Hi all!Currenty I have a Playbar connected to my Sony TV’s optical port. I am buying the Arc Ultra. Since my Sony TV is older model, it only has Hdmi ARC. Is it a better choice to connect the Arc Ultra via Hdmi ARC, or optical ?. I presume the optical will give me regular 5.1. and Hdmi Arc losy atmos. Oh and, in between I have the Nvidia Shield TV. Hoping someone here can help. My system consists of two Play:1s and an Era 100 (each in a different room) and I have a Synology DS218j NAS that stores my music library.For some reason I can no longer play anything from my music library on the Era 100. When I try I get the error “cannot play [track title] access to [nas name\shared folder) is denied”The tracks play fine on my other two speakers so I can’t see that there is any issue with sharing, permissions, firewalls or SMB settings.I’ve reviewed the activity log in Synology and I can see the Play:1’s accessing the NAS via SMB3. The Era 100 does not appear to be even trying to access the NAS as there are no entries in the activity log.I’ve rebooted everything, reset and re-added the Era 100, edited the Unix settings, ticked the NTLMv1 box. I’ve set up a new user account within the NAS specifically for Sonos. Nothing works and now I’m at my wits end.Can anyone offer any tips/solutions? Thanks in ad

Hi,I am having an argument with my partner about the position of the second Era 300 I just ordered.Here is a picture of our living room : As you can see, we have a first sonos Era 300 on a furniture on the right. We cannot put them behind the couch. I am intending to put the second Era 300 on the left, attached to the wall thanks to the Sonos wall mount system.I have now a conversation with my partner who would like the Era 300 to be put at the top of the wall (see the red cross behind) where as I think that it should be at the same position than the first Era 300 but on the other wall (see the yellow cross behind):What do you thing about out respective posit

Hi there, I have a move and a beam in my kitchen. We just use the beam for the tv and run the music when we want it through the Move.  I currently have an issue where the Move keeps playing the tv audio through it. When I go to the app is shows the Beam and Move are indeed both on with the yellow tick.  I disconnect the Move press apple. It goes off from the move then a few minutes later the app just adds it again to the room. Its not through bluetooth either. I could just power off the move but that really is not a good workaround!.  

I raised this 6 months ago (), but then was hit by the new and “improved” app, so stopped looking into this for a while.  Now back and hoping to get some advice. Nothing has changed in my set up - still using SonosNet with a Play:3 as the speaker hardwired to the router and a mix of Play:1s and Sonos Ones around the house.  2 x Unifi APs hardwired to the router (so not a mesh network). Still get the issue with whichever speaker is playing music, the app loses the speaker so it either shows nothing playing (no album artwork, no controls enabled etc.) or the room itself disappears for a minute or two.  The only way to stop/start the music is directly on the speaker controls. This is only an issue with the Sonos App.  If i used Spotify and connect to the speaker through their app, I have no issues.

I have some suggestions for the new app.They are based on my own usage where I use the different controls in this order of magnitude 1) Track controls (fx skip), 2) Volume, 3) Rooms - and wish the interface would align the controls better for this (easier and more intutive access to 1 over 3). SONOS should be as easy and intuitive to use as any streaming app like Spotify.When listening to playlists or radio I use skip FAR more than changing the volume or switching rooms, and suspect many use it the same, but I don’t think the new app supports that as good or as intuitively as it could.Collapse the search box so it takes up less screen space → If pressed it expands and triggers the keyboard ready for input like now. This will make it less intrusive. The permanent player control at the bottom is not 100% intuitive Swipe up to show room selector. I have two MOVE speakers that I cannot pair... I have tried many times and they do not pair correctly. The Left one gets connected and disconnected continuously. Any help? Thanks a lot

(1Gen)Other apps and other show on Max has no problems.The TV Sony Bravia can play TBBT show fine.I have a Beam 1.gen connected with HDMI and two One SL in the back.Can anyone  reproduce this problem? 

Can you de-select songs or artists from these playlists?

My Sub crackles loudly when watching parts of shows that have explosions/gunfight scenes. I have unplugged and reset it. Have reintroduced it to my sound bar. Still get this loud crackle or feedback when scene in show is an action scene.

The arc ultra is paired with 2 era 300s and sub gen 3 and so far is better in every aspect to the arc with the exception of use for gaming. Some voices are quiter, volume is also not as loud having to turn it up much higher than with the arc. The bass is noticeably lower, this was done with trueplay. Switched back to the arc and none of this is existent. Anyone have a fix for this? 

this is my floor plan  I currently have an arc (green) in front of my tv. 2 Sonos One speakers as surrounds (yellow)1 sub gen 3 (blue)would I be fine to upgrade to the era 300 even with the open concept left side surround or would I be better to upgrade to era 100

I wish to use a Sonos Ray simply as an external speaker for a TV via the optical input.  I have only a public network available and can connect my windows 10 PC to the Sonos device as it is listed in the available network devices.  My Norton smart firewall is disabledThe Sonos app cannot connect to the Ray and I get the “Try Again” message.Suggestions are welcome and have considered that this unit is not appropriate for this situation.  It must tolerate occasional loss of power without any computer intervention to recover.I did change the TV to send audio to the optical output but the Sonos does not decode it in the absence of the setup process.Thank you,Mike

Hey, I own a Beam (Gen 2) and a Sub Mini that are connected via HDMI ARC to my LG TV (43UR80006LJ) and tackled a problem lately that I hope you can shed some light on. I stream most of my media through my PC via a server that is connected to an app named ‘Emby’.While using the SONOS app, I almost always check the type of the audio format, and it works great, but on specific occasions I get the Stereo PCM mark. This happens only when streaming movies or TV shows that have image-based subtitles (PGS\ASS) through the TV Emby app.I use only EAC3 audio tracks in my Emby library, and whenever I enable the subtitles, I see the PCM mark.Needless to say, this causes a drastic decrease in the quality of audio.I’ve tried to ask if it’s a problem from the Emby client’s side, but it turns out that the audio file is a direct copy of the original EAC3 2.0 and should show the Dolby Digital Plus 2.0 mark instead, but it does not. At the

I have 2 x Ikea Syfonisks and 1 x Beam (Gen 1). System has been working or for a few years. I usually Airplay from Music app on my iPhone. Now when I try to play to a speaker it connects momentarily (no sound) then just jumps back to the iPhone. All speaker are visible and I don’t get an error just it just won’t ‘stick’ on a speaker (or speakers). The systme works if I play from my Apple Music library within the Sonos app but I prefer to use the Music app directly (and have always done so in the past). I’ve reset the router, switched all the speakers off and on again. No luck, any suggestions?Edit: i just tested from my iMac using Music and I can connect – so presumably this is a Music app on the iPhone problem?

why can't i find sonos tube app on my new android phone?

I have a stereo pair of Play: 1 and a stereo pair of Symfonisk. Is it possible to add a Sonos Sub Mini to one of the pairs without unpairing the stereo pair?

Opening the app is very slow on updating the room status. I usually start music from Spotify Connect or by pushing the hardware button on the speaker .I then open Sonos app to set the sleep timer or change volume.App takes ages to update that something is playing and what's playing.Wifi network is currently working really well so it's a Sonos app issue.

I got an iPhone 13 pro recently and it won’t recognise or connect to the Sonos S1 app. I’ve tried everything including allowing location services, no VPN etc. Yet the app works fine on my iPad. Judging by previous chats on this, there is clearly a software fault, are you fixing this Sonos?
