Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Hi Everyone, after another half day or more with Sonos Support (they tried but could not solve the problem of the again missing iTunes Library after the latest update), I thought I found a fix. Apparently, the computer's name should not include any hyphens for the official work around provided by Sonos. That was the only fix in my case to at least connecting, after receiving all sorts of 913, 1002, access denied errors when trying to re-add the Music Library on Sonoma, which had been broken after the most recent update.But then, after the library was indexing and updating, after a while an error message popped up that said that the location where the library was, is no longer available???When  nothing was moved and everything works on my Mac in the Music app. And the whole library disappeared from Sonos again. It is a riddle to me how an app can be created that only can “connect” to a local file and folder when a Windows sharing environment is enabled. I’ve seen conversations on this subject. Sonos suggesting it’s a wifi problem is a great example of corporate gaslighting. They updated their app and now it’s trash. Own up to the trash. 

Dear All,I would like to connect my favourite mobile phone app for podcast with my Arc. Unfortunatley Arc does not support Bluetooth. Now my question.Could I add e.g. a Move 2 to my environment (Move 2 is capable for Bluetooth), so using Move 2 I can connect via Bluetooth and playing my podcast via Arc and Move 2?Does this work? BRStefan

I purchased some products from Dubai, and I want to use them. However, when I try to set them up in the app, I receive an error message saying, 'We couldn't link your Sonos Amp to your account.' What should I do? Please help

After S2 App update bombed out my library i have reconnected again.Here is how I did it using a Synology DS124 NAS.I followed instruction for SMB and shared folder settings at:In the NAS setup/admin:All the music files are in NAS shared folder \music. Installed the Synology “Media Server” app on the NAS and set SSDP advertisement interval to 10s to allow DLNA access to NAS.In the SONOS S2 App added the shared folder://192.168.50.4/music User is your NAS login username. Password is you NAS login password.Note use of “/” in IP address, not “\”.“192.168.50.4” is the IP address my router has allocated to the NAS. Using the NAS’s network name “Server Name” did not work. The risk with using the IP address is that if the router reallocates the IP address then you will lose the link and will need to relink shared folder with new IP address. Good luck.

I'm trying to decide the best placement for my Sonos Era 300 speakers, and I'd like your input.Here's my current setup:I have the Arc, Sub, and two Era 300 speakers replacing my previous Sonos One speakers for surround sound.The blue circles indicate where my current Sonos Ones are positioned.For the Era 300s, I'm considering the following placement options:1. Green circles: Slightly above ear level when seated on the couch.2. Red circles: Higher up, angled downward towards the couch.Which placement do you think would deliver the best sound experience? 

I just purchased a Sonos Beam Gen 2. I did but it used and noticed it was already setup to another system so I performed a factory reset and tried setting it up with my Sonos app. I got to where it says "Your Beam has been added, but may not appear in your System. If so, unplug the power cord and plug it back in to finish setup from System Settings." I've followed the steps and cannot seem to get it to work or show up in my app. The Beam does have a solid white status light on. My wifi situation is not ideal as I am in a college dorm with shared WiFi. The network is private and does not require a username, just a password.  

Hi,I can’t find positioning anywhere with asymmetric room. Anyone knows best position? (arrows) 

This might only be aimed at the S24 users, but any pearls of wisdom accepted.After three lengthy conversations with tech support without success, I still can't get the latest version of Sonos working on my S24. It installs OK, but crashes when you hit the open icon.I have tried just about everything possible, multiple reboots of phone, router, and anything else you can think of, without success. Sonos Tech support now advise the problem should be aimed at Samsung support 😡 as there is nothing wrong with the app.My question is..... has anybody else encountered this problem ?The S24 is running the latest update, One UI 6.1 version 14 or have set some security/privacy settings inadvertently that might stop the app from opening. The app runs fine on my IPad/Windows PC and previously my Samsung S20 plus, but will have nothing to do with my Newer S24 Ultra.I'm at a loss and tec support can offer no resolve.

 before Sonos updated the app in May, the stability and functionality was great. Since this update there has been lots of issues and some of them have been fixed and some have not and we’ve also talked about them on here.What is annoying is that all my album art that is stored on my local drive, is not showing from my NAS library and it used to work fine? It actailly works through Plex, but I prefer to use my own library, as I’ve got my own playlists that I’ve created over the years.

 Hello,I’m having some issues with my audio setup and am wondering if anybody’s able to support me. I’m not an expert but will explain the setup along with the issues I’m experiencing. Please let me know if more information is needed and I’ll answer.I use a Sonos 5.1 surround sound system (Beam gen 2 soundbar.My TV only has 1 HMRC ARC port. The Beam is connected to this.A non-ARC HDMI port on my TV is then connected to this splitter as the input.The below devices are connected to it as outputs. I can see what type of audio is being received and played on my system via the Sonos app:Apple TV (Dolby Digital 5.1)PS5 (Dolby Digital 5.1 )Nintendo Switch (Stereo PCM)Windows 11 PC (Stereo PCM)My main priority is fixing the Windows PC to output 5.1. PROBLEM WITH ADDING BACK LIBRARY - AFTER AN UPDATE REMOVED IT!I’m trying to add my sonos music library back to sonos after an update removed it.  I’m adding from a NAS and get an error when trying to add it back saying no longer available.  If I split the music folder into very small chunks it will add without a problem.  Has anyone had the same?  The link below looks to be a similar issue:https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-and-music-services-229131/i-can-no-longer-add-full-music-library-only-20gb-of-125gb-6905469

Before the new app, I was able to listen to my home music library which was kept on a usb hard drive that was attached to a D-Link router. The music library is about 125 GB and consists of around 25,000 files (a mix of mp3 song files, as well as a few jpg for album art, plus each song had an .info file associated with it). Everything played well. I mostly avoided the debacle of the new app rollout as I disabled all software/firmware updates, but unfortunately a firmware update made it through anyway, so I had to update to the new app, rendering my music library unreachable; I believe the issue was the smbv1 was no longer supported with my router. So, I recently updated my router to a TP-Link that also had a usb port so I could continue using the external hard drive I had my music on. Long story short - I can only add a total of 20GB of my original music library.If I try to add the whole folder in one shot, it seems like it’s doing something for about 10 minutes, then I get an error say

Hi,After upgrading to MacOS 15, the Sonos app running on my iMac will no longer access my music library (error 913). In a recent thread I described the issue I’d faced since “The Update” that prevented me from adding my music library, hosted on a Mac Mini, to an S2 system. I had file sharing configured per Sonos recommendations (even before the update), and although Sonos could connect to the share it would fail during the indexing process with this incredibly informative error message: O RLY? TL;DR: If you encounter the above error, it may be an issue with the cumulative volume of metadata in your music library, despite that not having been an issue before the May update. This certainly affects shares stored on MacOS using libraries managed with Apple Music, although I will note that I do not believe this represents an issue with Apple's products, as it's clearly linked to a data limit within Sonos. However, it’s one you’re more likely to encounter if your music management approach, like Apple Music, involves naming files with proper names, rather than a simple disc-track numbering system. Troublesh

It should be a very simple product - it just streams audio over WiFi. Yet after many years the initially very buggy software seems to get worse and worse.Every time I change WiFi setup I go through a massive world of pain trying to set up the speakers. This time I simply can’t set them up. Lots of factory resets, lost of trying to upload latest software (9 times out of 10 doesn’t work and gives random error codes, despite following instructions), trying to join the WiFi (again lots of random error messages). The after 3 hours in a cycle of despair, I get one speak to work. The other takes another two hours of going around in circles. That one works - but the other is now no longer working. I go around the cycle again. Now nothing works, despite following all instructions carefully.Anyway, key conclusion is that this is a company which has incredibly poor software management. The overall design must be incredibly poorly thought through and error prone. There can be zero testing. Why els

I’m thinking of buying 2 Ace headphones and i have 2 ultra soundbars at home. One in the basement and one in the living room. Will there be any interference of sound if both are on at the same time? Is this connection (ace to ultra) Wifi or bluetooth? Thanks

Morning all, Does anyone know if the bamboo lampshade on the floor lamp change changed to the glass shades? Do Ikea on the uk sell a separate stand for the lampshade alone, I.e. Just wanted to confirmed if I were to have 4 ROAM 2 speakers connected on the same WIFI network that they could play the same music at the same time? We have clinic and would like to put one speaker in the main area and then one in each of our 3 treatment rooms and play the same music at the same time during business hours.

For the folks that have Sonos Era 100 and doesn’t have any wifi issues, may I ask what wifi mesh system you have? I currently have Netgear nighthawk mesh system and it could be that my mesh system is not compatible with my Era 100s and this is after trying different ways to get running. I also have the Era speakers on static ip which work for a bit till it doesn’t or every time I reboot my router.  Also, my older Sonos devices works fine under my current wifi system. 

I have a Port connected to my Preamp, which is connected to my Amp, a Sub, and 2 speakers. I also have a turntable w/a Turntable Preamp, and a CD player. I currently use the Port as a streamer for the  majority of listening. The sound is good, but lately I find I want to adjust the tone of the music, as previously my integrated amp did that. What component(s) should I consider (besides tube rolling on my Preamp) for adjusting tone? Should I add another DAC? An equalizer of some kind? Forget about the Port? Any and all suggestions are welcome!
