For the past few years, I’ve been playing a 3 hour long White Noise track from Spotify on my Sonos One, as well as my son’s Sonos One. I select the track and then click repeat to make sure it continues through the entire night. We’ve never had issues using it this way in the past.

Recently, and for reasons unknown, my Sonos Ones in both rooms will randomly start playing Jazz music around 5:00 AM / 6:00 AM. I check both Queues and the only tracks in each one are the White Noise track mentioned above, which is also set to repeat until I turn it off.

All software and apps are up to date. I have no idea what’s causing this. There are no alarms set either. Completely random and waking me and my kids up early than necessary everyday.

Any one else experiencing this issue or just me?

Just had a 30 minute call with Support and after walking me through all of their suggestions, they too admitted they have no clue what’s causing this to happen.

Tech, can you please take a look and fix this bug asap?

I’m not a Spotify user so what follows is pure conjecture; as a possibility. I found the following option for Spofity White Noise 10 hours. Its appears you can add the white noise track to Your Liked Songs. That might indicate that the white noise track you are playing is segueing into a jazz song after a period of time. 🤔

I would change your Sonos account password to rule out someone accessing your speakers through play.Sonos.com

Hi @Sebojosh

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having.

From the system logs in your recent diagnostic, it looks like instructions to play are coming from the Spotify app, not the Sonos app. Are you able to confirm that you use the Spotify app to select what you play? If you do not, it looks like someone who recently did use the Spotify app to play music on your Sonos system did not break the link between your system and their Spotify app - if they attempted to play jazz on their phone at 6am, it would be played on your speaker instead. You can break this connection by playing to the speaker from your own copy of the Spotify app.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Corry P , thanks for getting back to me here.

To answer your question, I go into the Sonos App and then select from White Noise track through Spotify, but everything is done within the Sonos App itself. Also, no one has used their Spotify app to play music on my Sonos system, nor has anyone linked my system with their Spotify app except for myself in regards to choosing songs from Spotify within the Sonos App itself.

How does one even link their Spotify to their Sonos System from the Spotify App itself? I’m only familiar with doing everything from inside the Sonos App, including selecting music from my linked Spotify account.

Hi @Sebojosh

That is strange, but perhaps someone did it without your knowledge?

In any case, please follow the instructions from the link provided by @106rallye to play Spotify on your Bedroom speaker.

If you ever see this behaviour again, I recommend checking for alarms - Sonos can play alarms set in the Sonos app, the Alexa app and the Google Home app, as well as possibly from any music apps that support Direct Play (such as Spotify, though I don’t know if it has alarms, specifically). If you don’t find any, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team for a deeper investigation.

I hope this helps.
