Is there any update on when this will be fixed? It is possible to play albums on other streaming platforms eg Tidal. It doesn’t make any sense that IDAGIO has been excluded. Surely this is not a difficult problem to solve.
SONOS does not support music services. SONOS provides an interface that any service is welcome to use. Once a service has built its interface and the interface has been tested, it can be included in the SONOS list. The exact interface details are up to the service.
Here are the IDAGIO details. If you want more IDAGIO features, you should contact IDAGIO.
I don’t think that is correct - the feature used to be available, it was removed in the app update. I have contacted Idagio and they say it is up to Sonos to implement it. Weirdly it is still possible to play Idagio albums via the Sonos Mac app. It is the iOS app that is the problem.
Hi
Buzz is correct here that music services on Sonos handle what is sent and displayed in the Sonos app, but as you can play your Idagio albums on the Mac App, then it’s possible something else is occurring here.
Currently, we’re aware of an issue where attempting to play an Album from Idagio will only play the first song of the Album, is this the issue that’s occurring on your system? We currently have no workaround or ETA on when this will be resolved, but our team are aware and working towards a fix.
If this isn’t the issue, then I’d recommend contacting our support team for further troubleshooting and to log a case with them regarding this.
I hope this information helps.
Thanks for your response, but the problem is that there is no way to play an album from IDAGIO, With Tidal, there is a “play album” button. But there is no play album button for IDAGIO albums. The tracks can only be played individually. This used to be possible, it changed in the new version of the Sonos app. The issue could be fixed by adding a “play album” button!
As a follow up, I have contacted Idagio support about this problem (again) and their response is that “we did not change anything” and “the Sonos update broke everything”.
This is clearly a problem with the new Sonos iOS app. What makes this so frustrating as a user is that playing an album is basic functionality, not an obscure feature request, and it used to work!
It should not be difficult for Sonos to resolve this.
Hi
I’ve contacted our team and raised this with them, after testing on my end and asking my colleague to try as well, we also weren’t able to play albums using IDAGIO. This has been raised as an issue as this is not expected and I’ve tagged this thread with the relevant bug report.
We don’t have an ETA to share on when this will be resolved, but the team is aware and working on a resolution. I was informed that this should only occur on the mobile version of the app, you should still be able to queue using the desktop version of the Sonos app. Another workaround would be to make a playlist of the album in the desktop app, which I understand is not ideal but it’s a solution that lets you play using a mobile controller until this issue is resolved.
If I hear any more information or updates regarding this I’ll reply in this thread. Thank you for your patience and I hope this information helps.
