Has Sonos restored the ability to add songs to an existing playlist? And can new playlists be created and songs added?

Hi @mooreVMD, welcome to the Sonos Community!

This feature hasn’t returned to the Sonos mobile app yet, our team is still working on this but I don’t have any ETA I can provide as to when it’ll be back. The desktop controller (not the Web App) still has the option to create and edit Sonos Playlists, so we’d recommend you use that until in the meantime.

Once this feature returns, it should be mentioned in our release notes, so it’s worth keeping an eye on them or checking after an update.

I hope this information helps!

All I want to do is go into my music library (NOT APPLE MUSIC), click on a playlist I have created, and shuffle.

I can do that via the desktop app but I cannot do it via my iphone or ipad. WTF? Just when Sonos fix something it goes rogue again, what a dreadful product.

Can ANYONE at Sonos understand this issue and give me an answer please? It’s the main reason I bought Sonos and now I can’t do it.

Sonos! Its from my iTunes. My music library is my iTunes library. I have created playlists. On Sonos when accessing them, I can see the playlists and the songs within them, but I can’t shuffle or play them.

God why does no-one get this?

I have just completed the latest updates, so I am up to date on the software upgrades. I STILL CAN NOT CONNECT MY COMPUTER MUSIC FILES TO THE MUSIC LIBRARY. I was one of the early adopters of SONOS. I have patiently lived through the changes but this feature is critical to my music experience. When will this ..or will this feature ever… return to the users. Come on guys…!

Your ability to play a local music library is not going to be fixed with just an update.  Because the sharing protocols formerly used by Sonos to access libraries are now unsupported due to security risks, adding a local library requires further steps, namely getting your music shared via the latest protocols.  Full instructions are located here:

Pay particular attention to the steps to Share your music folder on the network from a PC, Mac, or NAS.
