Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Dear Forum,struggling with thus half my Sunday. Hopefully you can help out.  i do not know what the taxonomy in sonos is, to add a music library on the USB stick I insrted in the modem. I have now\\fritz.box\JeroenMusicthe usb stick is called ‘JeroenMusic’ with directly all my CD’s on it. But somehow this doesnt work. sonos gives feedback that the access is denied.assumed that all settings are correct in the fritzbox, I would like to know whether the syntax is ok.  thanks

I recently purchased a Beam 2 to use with an LG C4 and Roku 4K Express stick. No matter what I try, I can’t get the Roku to passthrough Dolby Atmos. The audio always registers as stereo PCM on the Sonos app. Atmos works just fine when I use the native apps on the TV. I have tried various audio settings on the Roku, but I keep getting stereo audio when I should be getting Atmos. Any suggestions? 

Is there an option to block others from messing with the volume of the sonos app?

I have a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and I wanted to buy some Play:3 for surround sound and to do Dolby Atmos but I don't know if it's possible...

I’ve got a set of two SONOS Era 100’s plus the Beam 2 soundbar but no TV. It all works fine, unless I want set my PC’s output sound to the SONOS groups which seems impossible at first glance as Beam 2 does not support BT. No cable connection possible. Any idea on how to set it up in a tricky way? When I remove Beam 2 from the group it all works flawlessly with pair of 100’s.My SONOS set up for this room is Beam + 2 surrounds.

I have a turntable with preamp connected to Sonos connect line in that is connected to my receiver via line out. Does the Sonos connect convert that signal to digital and back to analog or does it pass through as analog?

Is there another method to reboot Beam (Gen1) if the standard one of unplugging and waiting doesn’t work? I’ve done it several times and still not seeing the green flashing light. It’s solid white. Thanks!

Old story by now but here it is: in the Sonos app (latest) on iOS (v18) was (finally) able to add my MacOS Music library hosted on a Mac Mini. However, I noticed that a new album I had added to the Music library was not appearing in the Sonos app. The default setting, I believe, is to update the library every night. Clearly not happening. I tried to manually update the library (“scan for new content”) but that did not help. I deleted the library but the app became stuck on scanning even though I had deleted the library. So I deleted and reinstalled the Sonos app and it still showed that that it was scanning (which is weird as deleting an app on the iPhone removes all of its files; maybe the Sonos app is pulling some setting from the Sonos servers?). Anyway, after much force-quiting and restarting the iPhone the scanning stopped. Now I cannot add my Music library back. I keep getting the “access denied” message. Nothing has changed on the Mac Mini in terms of sharing, etc.. I verified t

I inherited a wall mounted Play 1 speaker, one Play 1 speaker, and I want to add one more speaker to create stereo sound, which sonos speaker should I buy that is compatible with the Play 1?

I have accidentally created my Era 300 as main speaker under ‘Your System”.  How can I move it to my Arc Ultra as surrounding speaker? Thank you.

Ever since the app 'update' I have continued to experience problems with it crashing and having to restart it. This especially becomes a problem when trying to play any radio station. In recent, weeks it has gotten worst with 'currently unable to play' error message everything time I select a radio station. I have multiple sonos players, location throughout my home. I love the sonos system and have enjoyed playing music through it for many years. However, these constant issues are trying my patience and I have reached the point that if there is no real improvement to the app, I will be selling all my speakers. 

Hello Sonos Community,I love the Arc Ultra, 2x Era 300, Sub 4 for Movies and Atmos Content, but for music it’s clearly lacking behind a stereo pair.playing Atmos music is more like a gimmick for me, nothing I want to keep listening to for extended periods  the options to adjust the Era 300 in music mode are a good start  however a sound bar will never be able to create a stereo stage  therefore it would be great to utilize the Era 300 that are surround speaker in movies, as a stereo pair in music. It could be an easy switch like “Stereo mode” is there any comparable mode/way that does not require re-pairing the speaker ? kind regards Robert 

I just did an ‘update all’ in the app store on my ipad earlier today. I wasn’t paying attention, but perhaps there was a sonos update in the list.Now I see that all of my Sonos playlists have disappeared. The playlists remain in the app on my iphone, which I have not updated.Is this another chapter in the continuing Sonos screwup saga? Is there a way I can copy the playlists from my phone to my tablet? What the hell is going on NOW?

I have an Arc Ultra, Sub 4 and pair of Era 300’s. Surely it would be easy to add an option to the App to allow users to either use their system in full Theater mode for movies - or if they wish to use the two Era 300’s ONLY it would allow Stereo only - with all drivers functioning? Seems like a basic capability that many people would like to utilise? 

I just got an ultra and sub. It’s going in a small(10x10) room.  This my MOVIE room. Where is the best placement for the sub?  Would surround speakers work in a small room?

I have owned the Arc Ultra for a few months and I always planned on building up to the full surround kit as i could afford. So today, I pulled the trigger on the sub mini and a single era 300 (i cant afford 2 right now, ill add the second one next month). Is is true that you need to have a pair of era’s to add them as a surround speaker? I have tried adding it to my system 30 times, factory reset everything, reinstalled the app, firmware updated on my router...literally every newbie troubleshooting step i can think of, thats why I need an expert to step in. My system is all set up with the arc ultra and running perfect, when I add the Era 300, no matter what I choose, it adds its own room everytime. So say my arc ultra is set to “Den”. when i add the era to den it creates a “den 2” everytime. I cant fix it. It also wont run as a surround speaker. I just have to enable them both as seperate speakers playing the same sound. So its not surround sound, its just 2 speakers near each other p

Hello, good afternoon. I have a question please. If I have two different Sonos accounts (i.e. two systems registered with two different emails), is it possible to manage the music from both accounts with a single Sonos App? That is, play music from a single device (for example a tablet) regardless of the location? Could I control the music from any internet connection without having to be physically at the location? Thank you in advance.

It is aac and I hacked mediamtx to return content type as audio/aac as per https://docs.sonos.com/docs/supported-audio-formats  but still no playing.How do you debug this kind of problems?

I just bought the Arc Ultra, the Sub 4 and 2 Era 300. Then found out I don't have eARC on my tv. Will I be able to use all those channels with the optical adapter? I read the optical cable only support 7.1 and the Arc Ultra alone has 9.1.2 and I'm adding the dedicated sub and the 2 surrounds. Will I be very limited in my sound quality?

Am unable to connect the jiosavaan app or play on my Sonos Arc from my phone...

As far as I am aware I have set all the ‘pop up’ and ‘notification’ options to ‘off’ on my account but I am still occasionally seeing adverts from Sonos on my controller. Have I missed a setting hidden away somewhere or are Sonos just ignoring my request?    

The “add the playlist” option seems to have disappeared from the … menu of the songs. I still see “add to favorites”, “play next” etc… but no more proposal to add the song to a playlist.Does anyone know where that option has gone to?

I have a Sonos amp and Sonance outdoor speakers mounted on my house used mostly to stream music for listening on my deck. During the summer we do outdoor movies in the backyard. I planned to use an arc (recently upgraded to ultra so have the old one around) for the sound and would like use the Sonance speakers as surrounds. Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to modify my Sonos settings for my outdoor “room” in the app every time?
