Mac OSX Catalina has wrecked my SONOS music library link
Just upgraded to Catalina, and SONOS is now [b]useless[/b]. Despite being able to see and link to the USB drive with my music library, SONOS insists there's nothing there. I'm guessing it's some sort of paranoid OSX security setting - but would appreciate any help from you guys......
Fast forward for TuneIn Radio
Hi, Can anyone help me understand how to get Sonos to work properly when trying to fast forward a radio show when I’m listening to catch-up?Everything is good when I click on a show to listen and it will play from start to finish but if I want to skip forward 30 seconds or worse jump forward a few hours I often get nothing. Sometimes I get a spinning wheel and after some time it will skip, most of the time it will fail. I assumed maybe it was something on TuneIn’s side and just gave up months ago, but today I tested and actually it works fine on their website. The problem lies with Sonos, unless its an API issue from TuneIn - can anyone help or will Sonos look into it?Thanks.
The computer [name] refused to let Sonos connect to it
[Soap-box]Every time the Sonos software is updated this happens. The fix is NEVER the same. After spending $2000 on speakers (that work great when the software works) its frustrating to have to do this again…. and again. My Mac is on BigSur 11.0.1I just updated my Sonos:controller: 12.2.2 Build: 61183220Hardware version: 220.127.116.11-1.2 Everything 2 days ago was working fine. Now, the music library (which didnt change locations) will not allow me to add it (dont know why I have to do this on an upgrade anyway) so, while I CAN listen to Pandora, iTunes music is not permissible. What have I done to attempt fix it?1- Turned off firewall (norton 360) - [didnt help]2- Uninstalled norton360 - [didnt help]3- Gave Sonos full disk access permissions [didnt help]4- Revisited Privacy and Security Settings, re-set them [didnt help]5- re-installed Norton and re-associated permissions with app [didnt help]6- Cussed a great deal as now the plesaure of listening to music has now pissed me off [didnt help]
Sonos and Spotify hitch
A strange thing is happening when using SONOS + Spotify on these tracks:https://open.spotify.com/track/4XQQUyCMJDEsb4CipdJP0B?si=tX-h8QXzTXOXG3ZcaNOo8ghttps://open.spotify.com/track/5qratn3c1P8D5XeEr6Wxad?si=YMsbwp_JTkSufH_oIRp-IAI can hear a very disturbing click on the very first note. This doesn’t happen when the tracks are played on SONOS off my library. It doesn’t happen when using Spotify on my iphone. It’s only when the two are combined. Can anyone else hear this and any ideas what’s happening? Thanks!
Tunein Radio stations give programme title, Sonos radio does not
I don’t know if other users find this, but when I connect to a radio station via Tunein (e.g. BBC Radio 4), I get the current programme title shown (as I would get on the DAB station) in the app. Connecting to the same station via Sonos radio, only shows the station name. Anyone else find this? And is there perhaps a setting on Sonos Radio to change this behaviour? TIA. Wilf
Issues with decoding (?) YouTube Music
When trying to use Youtube Music with Sonos One (regardless of the activation way - either iOS app or voice assistant) I am very frequently getting playback issues: it’s playing a song and then suddenly displays an error message saying “the music can’t be decoded correctly” or something similar and skips the song being played. That’s annoying, so I was forced to switch to Google Music, the last has no issues like that. Considering the same songs can be played with no issues on Youtube Music when listening on browser or on mobile devices via Youtube Music app ( headphones, not Sonos ) I am making a conclusion that the problem is on Sonos side.
Sonos can't find my computer and my music library
I have set network to private. I have configured firewall as explained on the FAQ. I have tried other fixes. None have worked or have lasted as a fix. Most articles on here are too old and the instructions no longer apply. Please help. Happy to submit diagnostic report.
Music Library WiIl not add
I have recently upgraded to a Synology NAS 920+ and transferred my music library, but it will not add and keeps suggesting it is an error 900. I have modified the registry as suggested, but it made no difference.I can see the music share from a computer using the credentials set up for the Sonos system but cannot set up the music library on either a PC or Apple device?Update after adding SMB 1 to the NAS I can see the share but get access denied, even though I used the username and password to get to the share?Any ideas?
Can’t play apple music on sonos one second edition
I’m trying to setup a Sonos one second edition with Apple Music and Alexa voice service so I can play songs on the speaker by asking to play music, but Alexa says I need to enable the skill for the sonos one second edition in the Alexa app, then ask her to discover devices. I have the Apple Music skill setup in the Alexa app, and it still says the same thing when I ask it to play music. I have the preferred music service as Apple Music setup as well. I can use airplay to get Apple music to work on the speaker, and I can play Apple Music through the Sonos app, but it won’t recognize Apple Music when I try to use a voice command through Alexa. I’ve seen many people with this issue. Is there a fix for this?
Sonos continues to skip songs
I am convinced something is wrong with one of my speakers, but I am trying to diagnose it. In playing apple music, using the S2 app, directly to a Sonos Play one, songs will play half way through, then skip to the next, or will skip several resulting in long periods of silence.I have tried unplugging the device and plugging back in, I have tried moving closer to an access point, I have tried rebooting the network (which should not be a resolution unless it only has to be done with updates). Nothing seems to be fixing this.Playing from the app should be the purest way of playing anything (it cuts out Alexa, it cuts out airplay, etc). What else can I try?
Spotify "Autoplay" function is not available when playback is on Sonos
Spotify’s “Autoplay” function will play nonstop music when your music ends. I’ve noticed that this function is disabled when playing through my Sonos speakers, however works fine when playing directly on my iPhone 11. Everything is up to date on my end, the Sonos app, iphone etc. Anyone else experience this and how did you resolve?
Anyone had issues streaming music or updating sonos devices?
Several issues with my Sonos today, I’ve 2 Play:3 and a Playbar on the Sonos S2 app and tried to play some music - didn’t matter which service I used Amazon Music or YouTube Music both returned the same error that music couldn’t ne added to the queue when I tried to play, also had an intermittent 701 error.Tried to run the Sonos update got the 1101 error.Uninstalled the Sonos app on all devices and factory reset all Sonos devices - in order to start the set-up from scratch.Create a new Sonos network - same error on Amazon Music and when trying to update the system, can’t even add YouTube Music now.Can use it with the TV (including with the Play:3’s as surrounds) have had it play Sonos Radio (although that’s of no interest to me) - but am finding it really frustrating that it doesn’t seem to work with the main music providers at the minute.Anyone else having issues or encountered this problem?
YouTube Music only shows my playlists
I just added YouTube music as a service. When I search an artist, YouTube Music is not an option. When I click through the YTM service, the only option I have is my playlists. How do I configure it so it shows up in artist searches, shows “new Releases”, etc? Anyone else have the problem or better yet, a fix to get it fully integrated? Sonos S2.
Amazon Prime not working
Amazon Prime (not Premium) music has just been added to my Sonos. Whenever I select anything to play within the Sonos app I get the message “ Go Unlimited. Listen to this music and tens of millions more....” Following this link takes me to a Premium purchase page. I just want my regular Prime music to workI have tried removing and re-adding the service three times now Thx
S1 app fails to create amazon and mixcloud service
HiI split my sonos system in 2.So I now have 2 sonos5 gen1 devices on one s1 app and all the gen2 devices on the s2 app.All good until I try to add music services to the S1 app.Tried to add Amazon and mixcloud. Both services claim to be added succesfully until you return to Sonos S1 app where it indicates that the addition failed. For mixcloud I tried a different account from my s2 account. That also failed. Is it an S1 issue ? Any suggestions on how to resolve.
YouTube Music vs CR200
Hello,I know that CR200 support is limited at best, and I understand that the older device is probably quite limited in terms of program storage space. But now that Google Play Music is dead (RIP) I am very hopeful that you can reclaim some of that program space to fix Youtube Music support.Because today, on my CR200’s, all I see when I select Youtube Music is “Unable to browse music.”
YouTube Music not letting me skip or scrub tracks
In the past week I have started having issues with YouTube Music where I will select a track under an artist, but it won’t let me add it to the queue and it won’t let me skip/scrub - it just plays without making any changes to the queue. It’s also happened when I’ve tried to play a full album, and will just loop one track continuously while scrubbing and skip/back are not available. iOS 14.2.1
