There is a playlist issue in the Amazon Music app within the Sonos app.  Sometimes when I open a user-created playlist there are no play options.  The only option allowed is Save to Sonos Favorites.  I end up using SonoPhone to start the playlist.  I do have an Amazon Music Unlimited account.

Hi @MoPac

Thanks for your post!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with your Amazon Music playlists.

I have my own Amazon account, though I don’t use it much and therefore don’t have any playlists. I did create a playlist, with which I did not see this issue, but then you did say “sometimes”.

I have asked for colleagues to test this, but many are still off and I have not had any “bites” yet. I will get back to you once I do hear back.

In the meantime, it may help to remove and add your Amazon account:

Remove a music service account from Sonos

Add a music service to Sonos

I hope this helps.

I get the same thing.  Been like this for a long time.  And when it does work the queue is limited to 500 tracks.

Hi @MoPac

The same thing as your own report? That is not surprising!

Seriously though, thanks for bringing this back to my attention.

My colleagues and I were unable to reproduce this issue in our own testing. As a result, I can only suggest you get in touch with our technical support team in order to see if a test account behaves the same on your system.

Amazon Music is limited to loading 500 items into the queue - this has always been the case.

I hope this helps.

If the test playlist you created is small you will get the correct context menu when opening it.  My example that only showed “Save to Sonos Favorites”, “Atmos Symphonies 2”, is 371 tracks long.  Another one of my playlist, “Ballet”, is 151 tracks and works as expected.

Hi @MoPac

Thanks for checking and determining that additional information! I assume it will be very useful! Yes, my playlist was barely large enough to count as one.

I’ll try to find someone with existing, sizeable playlists to check, and create my own if I cannot - I’ll get back to you.

Hi @MoPac

My colleague tested with a playlist of 374 tracks and still saw all the options he should see. We are still unable to reproduce this issue.

I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team to try one of our test accounts on your system and work from there - I hope they can find an answer for you.

Thanks @Corry P.  I Have moved to Apple Music for Atmos.  Apple has no restrictions on playlist size and their Atmos collection is larger.

The only thing that ticks me off about Apple is what they did to classical music metadata that makes it more difficult to organize a classical playlist.  After IOS 18 the description written under the track name no longer shows “By Kalevi Aho” , instead it shows the orchestra, conductor or performing artist.  Also there is no Composer in the Sort By offering.

I have chatted with Apple about this.  Don’t know if that will go anywhere.

Hi @MoPac

As far as I have managed to make out over the years, this is somewhat standard for music services, save those that specialise in Classical Music.

@Corry P

Reauthorized Amazon account.  Symphonies 1 playlist behaving.  Of course I would no want to have to keep repeating that process.
