Is there really no way to scroll through the folders on the Sonos app (on the iPad) except to swipe? I can’t just tap a letter to advance to that point in the folder list? And is there really no way to search the folder list? Please tell me this is all just “operator error.”

Hopefully we will see something in a future update.

You mean it’s not operator error? Bummer. I was sure I was just missing something. The lack of such obvious functionality seemed inconceivable to me.

My music library (stored on a Synology NAS) contains 62,000 songs spread across thousands of folders. This inability to scroll/search that library effectively seriously reduces the usefulness of the Sonos Connect device.

It’s been this way for years, so I don’t expect it to change with a future update any time soon. And the fact that the functionality was omitted in the first place does not speak well of Sonos app designers.

Considering the recent management changes at Sonos I’d say folks there aren’t happy either.

Don’t know where to place the blame personally but the new leadership has the chance to do some house-cleaning lower on the company structure too.

It sure makes you wonder how they could have messed up so badly. It’s like someone designing a super nice house but forgetting to include door knobs.

Wait until you can’t adjust the volume cause the room fell off the app, or try to save a queue as a playlist and realize it can’t do this either ….

Hold the phone. Didn’t you used to be able to save the queue as a playlist? It seems as though I remember doing that when I first got my Connect a few years back.

This is starting to be very reminiscent of the Logitech Squeezebox debacle. That platform was always very squirrely, but when it finally worked, it worked. Then Logitech killed it off -- sadly, after I had already invested a ton of money in the Squeezebox line. Now those devices all sit in a box (with remotes covered in black plastic that magically turned to goo over the years).

Sonos is hopefully on the road to recovery.

Your gooey remotes can be cleaned with alcohol, 90% or better is best. Cotton wipes and Q-tips will do the trick.

Good tip. If I ever decide to resurrect my Squeezeboxes, I’ll give them a good scrub.

I still have a Squeezebox Touch. Love it. Also WiiM devices can be made to work as Squeezebox players.

Looking at iPeng app.
