Controllers and Music services

I can’t connect to my SONOS Play 5 via the desktop Mac app, but both iPhone and iPad connect without any issues. Do I need an updated desktop app, or this something else?

I see there have been questions and issues over the years with accessing Amazon.ca music vs amazon.com . The latest answer is to change the country from US to Canada in my profile - how? I cannot find this anywhere. I did change my date and time to “Saskatchewan” and rebooted everything to no avail. I don’t have Alexa. I just want to listen to my amazon music Canada on my Play 1. Thanks for any help provided. 

It’s only been a day with the Era 300s, but something I sort of picked up on with the Arc setup that stands out a lot now that I have two atmos capable rooms.  I can’t use my multroom audio system to play atmos music in multiple rooms very well.  The minute I group a non-atmos room into my atmos room, I lose atmos music where it can be played.  Lowest common denominator.  Sure, I could eventually add more atmos rooms, but many spaces will never makes sense for atmos.  Bathrooms, garage, outdoors, etc.I think I understand why this is the case. Atmos tracks are complete different than strereo tracks...a different file is being played.  Where as you can ‘extract’ mono from a stereo track for mono only rooms, You cannot do the same with atmos and stereo.So, what is needed is an audio format that contains a track in atmos and in stereo with all audio channels in sync.  With this, your atmos capable room can play atmos audio while your rooms that are only (only?) stereo/mono

I have changed my network connection to T-Mobile’s 5g gateway. I know Sonos doesn't connect to 5g. I have split my connection to 5g and 2.4g. I connected my phone to the T-Mobile 2.4g network. I used my phone to play music on the Sonos speakers and it worked. However, I am not able to adjust the volume or any other things on the Sonos app. Can this be done? 

Starting a week or so ago non of my old Sonos products work and the S1 app has the add device grayed out.  Any thoughts ?

Hey ! I've got a Five ans a Beam in the same room. Is there a way to shutdown the Five when i put on the TV (stop listening music for TV) ? Thanks 

Hi, I am unable to play any SXM channels via my Sonos and tried reauthorizing my account and keep receiving the error ‘ Unable to reauthorize SiriusXM account. I also tried removing SXM and re-adding however I also get an error authorizing. Thanks - Mike

My computer upgraded to the 15.2 but it's an older Mac and I didn't see anything about announcement or anything about the upgrade incompatibilities and now it's not working at all it's crashing. I've got no way to hook up my Sonos speakers at all. please if anyone knows where can I get an older download. This is insane one would think that you could put another earlier version on - most websites know that people keep their computers longer. I really need to keep this computer I can't afford to get a new one please someone help me find an earlier version. I upgraded to 15.2 and it's completely ruined my whole computer please help me.

So yesterday i upgraded to a new SKY Router and have tried to connect my SONOS One pair of speakers etc, i have opened the APP on my phone which gives me the option ‘sonos and your mobile device must be on the same network ‘lets fix it’ ...tapped this and brings me to ‘Update Network’ tap this and it brings me to ‘Go To Settings’ which just brings me to ‘App Info’ page were there is no help to continue….i am so frustrated with this as i am going around in circles :(everyone was so helpful last time so here goes againany help appreciated :) thank you

Hi all, I have a weird problem. I have a new iPhone 14 Pro, and having moved everything over to it, it is unable to connect to the Sonos network over WiFi (2x Sonos:1, 1x Sonos:3, 1x Sonos:One) - it complains saying the devices are not on the same network as the phone. Old iPhone is XS (of which we have 2), both work fine, as does a couple of iPad Pro’s. Both iPhone are running up to date Sonos app and iOS 16.3.1. IPhone settings are identical from what I can see. Private address is off on WiFi and no VPN.  Our wifi is via Unifi devices, and we do have an IoT network/subnet. MDNS is configured on the Unifi kit, and is working with the other iPhones and iPads. Only difference I can see between all the devices is iPhone XS is WiFi5 and iPhone 14 Pro is WiFi6. However the iPad Pro’s are on WiFi6 and work fine. If I put the phone on the IoT subnet then it all connects fine, so suggests it is a MDNS issue. For now I have disabled all blocking firewall rules be

I haven’t been able to connect my Amazon Music Unlimited to the Sonos AppWon’t let me browse.  I believe its because when I add it on the app, it defaults to the US Amazon (.com) and not Amazon Canada (.ca) which is who I pay for Amazon music Is there a way to fix this so I can browse and play music through the Sonos app?

I can no longer access any key Sonos settings – Account, System, Services & Voice are all greyed out on my Android phone. There has been no changes to my router. It just stopped working. Alexa is still working though. 

This is still an issue. Why why why. I have tried ALL the remedies offered everywhere to no avail. HELP.

Nothing?

I am running Media Monkey 5 (MM5) on my laptop and have enabled both MM5 server and library.I am using the Sonos App on my Galaxy S22 Ultra and on my laptop.In the Sonos App I can see both the MM5 Server and MM5 Library including all my music and playlistsI select the MM5 library, then select playlists, then choose a playlist, and can see all the songsAt this point the only option I have is to add the Playlist to My Sonos or individually add each song - 1 by 1 - to the queue.What the heck am I missing?  Why can’t I simply play a playlist from my MM5 server or library in Sonos? Why is this hard?If I choose a playlist that is saved on my phone I immediately get 2 buttons on top that let me play it or shuffle it.  Is there a way to play a playlist on Sonos from a media library or media server?

So today I’m away on a business trip to Germany. I’ve got my Macbook, Ipad and Iphone with me. My wife texts me saying that the Sonos speakers out of the blue started to play music. Quote “it sounded like Muzak. Not like the kind of music you like to listen to”. She then checked her phone to see if she accidentally set something off. But then she found out she only had the outdated version of the Sonos App and no password.For music streaming I use Apple Music.This does raise the question of how this at all is possible.Any thoughts.

Don’t Atmos tracks from Apple Music play in 5.1 from the Sonos app (with a gen 1 Beam) like they do through Apple Music on the Apple TV?

Is it possible to Apple Music’s new “Classical” app to the Sonos system?  Currently, I’ve only been able to add it to my iPhone.  

HiWhen creating a group, is it possible to have the added speakers join at the same volume?For example:I am listening to the lounge, at say volume 20, and want to add the kitchen.At the moment, if I add the kitchen and it’s been previously played at 50, that’s what it will join the group at, rather than the desired 20.Thanks in advance.

I have my turntable hooked up to my 2nd Gen Play 5 and only one channel is displayed on the app, previously both channels were displayed now the Left channel states its Disconnected, I still get sound out of the left channel but the app has it as disconnected.  I’ve unplugged the Play 5, put a new cable on the turntable and nothing has changed, any clues on how to fix this. Thanks, Rio

Hi, I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and recently I have purchased Sonos move. When I login on to the Sonos app on my iOS device and go to Sonos radio. I just see featured list and browse radio. I do not see Sonos presents or sonos stations. I see under the support section of availability of Sonos radio in United Arab Emirates. So this should not be a problem. What do you think is going on? 

I was just curious with the release of the Sonos Arc and now the all new Era 300’s. When will spatial audio Dolby Atmos come to Sonos Radio HD?

I have the Sonos Controller for Mac V 15.1.1 running on a MacBookPro M1 Max with Ventura V13.2.1.  I can not connect my music library on the laptop to Sonos. What I’ve done to set it up - In System Settings, I have “File Sharing” ON and in Privacy I have “Files and Folders” set to allow Sonos access. Under Sonos Manage/Music Library Settings/ , I select (+), select “Another Folder of Disk Connected To My Computer ”, select my Music folder,  get through all the setup questions, and then I get an error saying “Sonos was unable to add the music folder”.  I have restarted my laptop and Sonos multiple times between setup changes.  But still no connection.  Help!

The main SONOS network in my house is S2 and connects to a music library on my Terastation NAS.  I am using my old S1 Sonos amp in the garage and cannot get it to connect to the same NAS music library.  When I add a new Library on the S1 system, using \\192.168.1.***\Music, I get the invitation to add the user name and password, however after adding the correct UN and PW the response is  - Access to the shared folder “\\192.168.1.***\Music is Denied.   Both the S2 & S1 systems are on the same LAN. Any help would be appreciated. 

I have a 3tb My Cloud Home NAS with music, videos, and photos. The music was installed (CD rips) via iTunes. I have connected the SONOS app to find the “iTunes Media” folder on the NAS by adding the My Cloud Home as a Music Service (as per guidance on the SONOS site). However, when I now change details in iTunes (e.g. add an album, change artist name, delete an album), the library on the SONOS app isn’t updating.I read a post about recycle bin issues but there is no recycle bin set up on my My Cloud Home.
