Controllers and Music services

Hi, I’ve been setting up Sonos system, right now only one speaker 8) (Roam SL)I’ve configured a Windows 10 Pro laptop to have a shared music folder with subdirectories of artist\album.Using the android sonos app I’ve tried indexing the directory. The app seems to start indexing, but only one album shows up as available. All the files have the same permission level set to “Read”.(There are 100+ artists)Has anybody experienced this, or indeed is there a workaround/fix ?Many thanks

I have many playlists created in Apple Music.  They are comprised of songs I own and songs through Apple Music streaming service.  The way that the Apple Music app sorts playlists is alphabetically with a priority (listed at the top of the list) to folders made up of multiple play lists.  To me this is the way I prefer my playlists sorted with folders first.  However, in the Sonos app (iOS and Windows desktop) there isn’t way that I can find to change how playlists are displayed.  They appear to be in alphabetical order with the priority to individual playlists first then at the bottom comes the playlist folders.  Am I wrong and is there a way to change how these are sorted?  Thanks!

so i bought a NAS from Western Digital in the Summer when the SMB2 issue meant the SD card would no longer work.  I set it up with the WD app which Sonos had in the options,  i was away for a while and had been using the Wife’s old talblet to play music but the oher week i realised th WD app had also gone and i needed to use thee SMB2 connection,  I have asked WD support but i cant get it to link.  has anyone had same issue and a solution?   i have tried multiple variations to the path with and without the past woords logon etc.  Just says unable to connect, possible error (900).  Waiting on WD to come back .  

Thought this was worth a message, as I've been struggling with Sonos/Spotify for the last year, to the point I stopped using it due to frustration.Like lots of others on here, Sonos worked OK via Spotify app. Using Spotify through the Sonos app resulted in dropped connections all the time.Lots of reading, contacted Sonos support etc but never got anywhere with all the updates, resets/reboots/re-authorising accounts and clearing playlists etc. All appeared temp fixes.Pleased to say all is now working fine by adding a traffic rule to enable the mdns setting:Address 224.0.0.251Port 5353Screen shot below showing more, defo worth checking your router settings or googling this to set up your router if you've got the same issues!For info, if relevant my split s1/s2 system is connected wirelessly to a 5g teltonika TRB500 gateway via Devolo magic 2 homeplugs so totally off the supported setups list!! 

How do I select a programme from a BBC station schedule in the Sonos app on iPhone?I’m trying to access programmes on BBC Radio 4, but I can’t find BBC schedules in the Sonos app.I can easily listen live and I can browse through a vast number of categories to find an interesting programme, but I can’t navigate to, for example, the programme that was on at 10 this morning.In the BBC Sounds app you can go directly to the schedule to select a programme.Of course I could do just that, but for some reason my iPhone can no longer stream to Sonos speakers via Airplay.

Hello… In the past it was not possible to create a preset group for less than three rooms, because for grouping just two rooms manually you need the same number of klicks as for choosing a preset. Now (using latest release 15.11) I was wondering that you now can create a preset of just two rooms.  Did Sonos change this recently for users who like it more this way?

A month or so ago, my SONOS system started to stream from Amazon Music despite me not having defined it as a service in SONOS.Today I got a message stating that Streaming would be done from Amazon Music and that it would result in a monthly fee continously until being canceled by me.How is this possible? I have not signed up to Amazon Music nore have Iset it up in SONOS.It is totally unacceptable that a service like Amazon Music is being forcedly pushed out to customers like this.

I have complained about this before but it seems that Sonos is not listening.Despite having adverts turned off in my Sonos app, I still got one during the Christmas period. This is incredibly upsetting and frustrating. I'm paying YouTube for an advert-free experience and the last thing I need is my hi-fi system showing me adverts.Please understand that it is my hi-fi and my home and you are not welcome to place adverts there.It's already very disrespectful to place these adverts in the first place, defaulted to on, but to ignore the settings when I opted out is also incompetent.You need to understand that this is something I can never tolerate. I would rather throw away all the Sonos players and buy a record player than accept adverts.Sonos used to be a premium brand when I bought it back in 2006. The switch from dedicated controllers to apps was a downgrade. Using these to interrupt people who are trying to use the very expensive kit they purchase

Hello All,I use youtube premium service on my iphone to stream music via airplay on my sonos system (Beam + Sub).I have noticed that the volume on youtube music app while streaming is maximum. So I always thought that the volume output on sonos is max in this case.I noticed recently that in above scenario, If I use touch controls on beam and I can further increase the volume. Is there a fix for this? I want volume all the way to be max on my sonos system controlled by the youtube app while streaming music.Anyone experienced this? Thanks

Hi everyone,If I go to the sonos radio music service I can’t find any of the native sonos stations.In my home screen I can still see (and listen to) those that I saved as favourite long time ago, but that’s it. I still receive notifications of seasonal stations (like christmas) so I know the service is not dead, and still accessible for free. I just can’t use it anymore I have an android and my partner has an iPhone, we both have the same problem. I’ve tried re-installing the app and it makes no difference. Any solutions?  Thanks

I’m close to just binning my Sonos speakers. What is going on at this company, that everything has become so terrible?So recently all my music services became inaccessible on the app, except Bandcamp and Soundcloud. Apple Music, Amazon music, Sirius XM, Pandora, would all fail to load. This has been going on for a while, and reauthorizing did nothing. So I decided to reset my speaker, uninstall and reinstall the app, and try start over. Except after entering my email in the app, I get ‘Something went wrong. Make sure your mobile device is connected to the internet and try again’. It is connected to the internet (and I tried from both ipad and iphone). So now my speaker is just a useless block. Some years back I used to eulogize Sonos and Synology as the two companies that make tech that made my life both better and simpler; Sonos has really fallen from grace since then.

Sorry - I see similar queries have been raised before, but I haven’t found a solution among the replies yet.I have the up-to-date Sonos controller on my iPhone 11 which is now running iOS 17.2.1. I have 2 pairs of Sonos One speakers and a single one. They’re of various ages, including a couple of brand new ones.Until quite recently I was happily streaming music from my Apple Music to my Sonos speakers via Airplay as well as from BBC Sounds, but a few days ago I received the message that Airplay was unable to connect to my Sonos speakers. This remains the case and applies to all of the Sonos speakers, but to nothing else (I can stream to our Sony TV for example). But it applies only to my iPhone - my iPad and iMac have no problems connecting to and streaming to the Sonos system.So I wonder what happened in the iPhone/Sonos environment? Is there a solution from the Sonos side?I’m reluctant to ask Apple about it - when a recent MacOS update ren

Opened the app this morning to a spam message about Sonos Radio.It’s not the first spam that the app has served up. How can this be turned off? It’s infuriating.  

New Sonos owner here, received three pieces of gear for Christmas. Cool products but I'm dumbfounded by the complete incompatibility and lack of support for OPUS audio files. It's open source and everything is ready to be implemented, yet this cheesy software can only handle MP3 for local media.  Extremely disappointed Where's the OPUS codec support?

When playing a song or playlist on Spotify (listening on headphones) I am unable to transfer to Sonos. Devices not visible on Airplay option. if I use Sonos app, it will not continue playing current item. appreciate any help or suggestions I also use Alexa on my Sonos One

when i click on the download  (Sonos_76.2-47270.exe) executable, Sonos - InstallShield Wizard starts, asking the language ‘nederlands’ but after a while it stops “bezig met het installeren van Microsoft visual C++ 2019 Redistributable Package x86”; after soms mùinutes i get from the Sonos - InstallShield Wizard a message that the installation of Microsoft visual C++ 2019 Redistributable Package x86 seems to have failed. Do you want to continu? yes or no. Even when i select yes nothing happens.What to do ? 

Amazon Music and YouTube MusicI have been given a Sonos Play 5 (Gen 1) by a relative and I would like to add the services listed above but cannot find them on the list of the Sonos 1 app.I would appreciate help with this.Thank you! 

Spotify does not appear as an option in the list of music services in my Sonos S2 App in iOS.New Arc Soundbar, downloaded the Sonos S2 App, followed the instructions to add a new music service, but among the many services listed, Spotify is not showing. (?)I have Spotify premium and can airplay music to the Arc, but why is Spotify not listed as an option in the S2 App?

Hi there Sonos guys!I’ve choosen you as harware suppliers. I’ve got ten of your devices arround my apartment because they sound great and are S.F.
