Controllers and Music services

Five years worth of carefully curated playlists for our business (bar & restaurant) are all missing.  We spend countless hours constructing our playlists song by song, to ensure the bpm’s match our vibe, or the specific holiday or event we’re celebrating.  Customers are all aware something is not right, and it’s affecting our business.  Please tell us when these will be restored, or we will have to scrap the entire system and go to another brand - it’s that important. 

The controller on my Mac v.16.2) was working until a few days ago and then I got "system not found". So I have slowly been going thru the steps listed. This morning I checked to make sure that the speakers were in fact "turned on". When I hit the play button, music began playing. I assume this was from the last service I played before the "system not found" alert. So if music is playing, how can the App not find the system which is in fact "there".Also, v.80.02.04 on my iPhone is still not connecting.Any explanation?  

Found rumours of Sonos headphones quite exciting, but let’s be clear Sonos, I won't be buying any more hardware from you until you fix your software!The new controller app is so bad, we must boycott their revenue stream. Join me. 

SYSTEM INSTALLED 5 YRS AGO. THROUGHOUT HOME. AND OUTSIDE(POOL).UNABLE TO PLAY ALL SPEAKERS THROU SYSTEM

App asks me to create new system on starting up each day. Worked out that if I sign out and sign back in I can access. Is there an easy thing I'm missing to stop this issue. Until recently my wife just opened her tablet and got it on but now she has to remind me to switch the radio on & if I'm out she can't access

Can anyone from the development team give any insight on when Sonos expects to make the app not s*** anymore.Never mind lost features, when will it stop opening to random pages? When will it consistently display what is is playing from the speakers? What about being able to change the volume without it popping back to the previous volume a second later? Just generally when will the bugs be a little less prominent?

Got this info from chat, told to phone up to resolve it: “Upon checking, the reason why you're getting the error 913 is that your device does not support or is not configured to use SMBv2 or SMBv3. SMBv2 or SMBv3 is now required, as we no longer support SMBv1 and HTTP for music library shares.    Rest assured, we do have a workaround for this."Rang up bang on 8am, wait time 5 mins, waited 40mins, got through to a Sonos tech help guy, set up a remote access session and it ended the after 2 mins “due to connection issues”; my phone had full signal and I have a solid wifi connection. Phone wait now 45mins.Incremental progress but no solution. Infuriating. And no media coverage?!

Hi, lately I upgrade mu sonos App and It became some problem.Now, for 2 days, I had not internet connection.. It was impossible to listen mu personal music on mu Nas. It was Always right till now.How It Is possibile? Sorry for my bad english.Dave

I’m going crazy from this new re-design. I can’t imagine that whoever designed he new app actually uses it.Anyway, did they remove the button to manually trigger the music library to update or am I blind? I feel like I’m clicking everything and I can’t find it.The new layout is SO UN-INTUITIVE it’s actually insane how bad they made it.

The new app doesn't show the two most used features of the Sonos ecosystem. - Alarms- TrueplayWith the new app I can't turn on or off my Alarms. Frustrating. With the new app and the new firmware update. My previous Trueplay setup dissapeared and I don't see the option to turn it on again. (Android)   

I have been a big supporter of Sonos and the technology.  That being said, I could not be more disappointed that Sonos has ignored the almost unusable app for IOs!  Given the popularity of iPhones, I would think they would want to make those customers happy.  If they don’t upgrade the controller (when was the last update, no one knows), I will start looking for other solutions.   How is it possible that basic functions can be ignored.  To name a few: Controller accessible from the lock screen and control volume with the iPhone volume keys.  It wouldn't hurt to update the interface as well.  Maybe if enough of us complain, something might happen.   

Hi,Hopefully there is a fix on the horizon, since it appears that I cannot install the previous version  The new app is very laggy and intermittent.  Issues seen:Push pause/stop, it doesn’t stop until pushed a second time. Volume - slide it up or down, it takes seconds to actually do the change Search not nearly as simple as the previous version 3 times I’ve gotten service not available, then I reboot, retry and it works.  The way to interact with the new app is (to me) much more convoluted than the previous version.  I’d gladly trade the graphics for the previous, more streamlined version.Thx. 

Is there a way to remove a service that is no longer available on SONOS? The service appears in my list of services, but when I try to remove it, I receive a warning Service not found and therefore it is not deleted. Of course I added the service time ago when it was available. The service is radio.net.Interestingly the service no longer appears in the SONOS web app, but still in the SONOS iPadOS app. I deleted the app and reinstalled it with no change.

Yes, I know the new app is terrible - see other posts.My question: I would like to install firmware updates for my devices, but the new app does not seem to have a “check for updates” button.I still have the old app on my PC, so I use that for most things while I wait for a working controller. But for now I don’t  want to update my PC controller. Unfortunately “update” on the pc controller wants to update the controller which I will not do.Is there a way to update the system now?

Does Sonos amp, support you tube music app , I heart app and Apple Music ? 

Hi I have added 2 more Sonos ports to an existing system that had another Sonos Port configured previously prior the new app redesign. The original Port was set to a fixed volume output using the old app around 6 months ago as it is connected to an audio matrix and 8 zone amplifier for multiroom music. Now having added 2 more Ports I cannot find the option to set the output to fixed anywhere in the new app settings but they need to be as the amplifier is handling volume control. How do you do this now? Is this new app that badly designed it is actually missing key settings controls like this??? 

SONOS, may I (be so bold as to) suggest that you look at any and all, libraries on the sever side and client side (the app). Or any other code which is a pre-requisite for your code, for 'SMB 1 specific functions/operations'.

For some reason Sonos is telling me I am no longer the system owner 

I have a WD ‘MyCloud NAS drive and am unable to connect to Sonos as I believe I should be able to. I am unable to discern the correct path I can ‘see’ the drive on Plex, but would like access directly through Sonos… Cheers 

It looks as though I am just piling on at this point, but the new app update has been a horrible experience. My primary reason for going with the sonos system was the ability to tie it into my home library - and this is no longer available! In addition, the app response is sluggish, the volume control is nonresponsive, and each time I open the app it no longer recognizes my existing sonos system! And just for good measure, it randomly shuts down. Very frustrating - please get the app issue resolved promptly or at least allow us to reinstall the previous app release in the interim. 

Anyone else experiencing no local network on new update, it’s rendered my system and a clients system unusable as it’s saying needs to connect to local network, what a joke from Sonos 

Is it still possible to add tracks to a queue if so how 

I am really disgusted. I have 10 sonos products and the new app is nothing but problems.

I just noticed that there was a Sonos app on Android update.  The icon is now black and functionality has changed.    You can see in the screenshot below they are slightly visible but greyed out.  This was right after I rebooted my routers and phone.
