I have a Move..I waited on the phone the other day for over an hour for sonos help with the new app (have not been able to get anything to play since new app applied) - after another 30 minutes it got down to the guy telling me that Sonos no longer supports MP3 files and that in order for me to get the new app to work so I could hear any music, I had to convert all MP3 files to FLAC format. I don’t see anyone else mentioning this on this site - is this true? This is incredible to me - why oh why oh why would you ever stop supporting all prior music formats...

Hopefully, you didn’t pay for this support, or even provide a credit card number to be charged. Here is how to contact Sonos Support directly. Note that the information is on a Sonos.com webpage (although that can be suspect, and if you’re not paying attention…).

Unfortunately, even Sonos Support folks, being human, can say an incorrect statement.

No, it is not true, and I find it highly suspect that a Sonos support person would say that.

Here are the supported file formats. Where are your files stored?

OH MY GOD - really?? I called the number listed for Sonos support that I googled - last time I called them I did not have to wait long - but I figured it was due to so many complaints about new app. Well the genius support guy that I spoke with - said exactly that - I also found it incredulous that they would do that - but nonetheless...wow!

Be careful Googling support numbers.  It's a crap shoot.  You are better off going directly to the company website and looking for the number there.
