“Recently Played” cannot be used to select a station

When using Jazzgroove.org after pausing it overnight, I have to select a different station of the five available on jazzgroove, play it for a few seconds, then select the station I want.With the new app, I can no longer select from the “Recently Played” stations which show up when I open the Sonos app from an iPad. All I get is a a greyed-out screen with the message “Something has gone wrong …!”I have to open the Jazzgroove.org service and select from the available stations, which simply adds to the number of steps required to get 5he service going each day.

Personal Music Library - on NAS

Why can't I play music folders from my NAS as I have for years? The new App allows me to play one song at a time!I have a Western Digital MyClouldMirror and a Synology NAS DS224.I cannot connect PLEX to Sonos.WTF???

Stop request to update the sonos application

Does anyone know how to stop the Sonos app on my PC asking me to check and install software updates. On the Sonos program on the PC under there are four major heading - File, Edit, Manage and Help  (ie. nothing called settings). Under the Manage heading one of the two items I can click on is “check for updates” to which I’m responding Not know - which the application is ignoring. I’ve also tried turning off automatic updates from the Microsoft store but that doesn’t work either.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.   I’m trying to avoid having to update the app on the PC since I know I will lose access to my NAS.  I made the mistake of updating the App on my phone with the latest May 7 update and as a result have lost access to the NAS on my phone.

Search function as well and my streaming service no longer working

I use a music streaming service called YouSee Musik. After updating the app, I can’t play a large part of the music catalogue. Many numbers and albums just fail.  Furthermore, if I use the search function anywhere in the app, it simply fails and says “something went wrong”.  My system is basically useless without proper access to my streaming service and without an option to search for music, so I’m extremely unhappy about the “update”. I hope someone can advise me how to make the app functioning again.

Poor use of icons in app and lack of accessibility

HiThe new app’s icons are so large and not user friendly. Just comparing with the old app:The join and stop/pause buttons so large in the new app. It makes it virtually impossible to display a whole track name longer than 10 characters. I think these icons could be made smaller and rearranged to reduce the height of the card for each room. I’m not sure I need full volume sliders to control volume for a room I’m not in. Surely this could be replaced with a volume button which pops out a slider or something? Or users could change the selected room if they want to change the volume there.  The “Pause All” button has been removed. Can we get this added back please? The Alarms button has moved to settings and is requires navigating through about 2 menu options before reaching it. Could we move it back to the “Rooms” page please? I’m not sure why Alarms has been placed in Settings in the first place, as it’s not a setting, it’s a functionality/feature.  To exit the “Now Playing” view, you mu

AirPlay Code on screen suggestion

Hi i have Sonos 100, Sonos 300 and Sonos amp all connected to the same network (WiFi) but i cannot stream music thru AirPlay as it asks a the “AirPlay Code” - Enter the on-screen code for “name of the speaker”.My question is what on-screen? I’m streaming from my phone. I’ve reviewed other posts and says to uncheck the require password from AirPlay settings, but from which settings?

It’s been confirmed by Sonos that “local Music Library is not going anywhere, though SMBv1 support has been permanently removed. Local Music Library searching is something that is still being worked on”.And on the roadmap that’s been shared, it states “Local music library search and playback: mid-June”.Now that SMBv1 has been disabled for music libraries, can we have confidence that the issues with SMBv2/v3 indexing will be resolved when the update does arrive?I have just tried adding my music folder which lives on a USB drive in my Asus XT8 mesh router. I have forced the router to use SMBv2 for the drive, and I am still seeing the ‘//path’ is no longer available message when indexing fails after a reasonable amount of time. Chunking my music up into groups of folders occasionally allows me to add a smaller folder, but then I see the error message again. And after that, nothing can be added.I had previously raised this in the post below (pre-update).Have SMB V2 V3 music library issues

New App affecting response times on Ipad Pro 1st generation

Hello, I’m probably one of those who mostly haven’t been badly affected by the new app. Either this is because all my speakers are compliant with the S2 platform. However, - issuesIs the volume level indicator coming back at some point ? Why is my Ipad Pro 1st generation having great difficulty in getting my app info populated  quickly. ? Sometimes , it just seems to be “processing” with a blank screen.  I then close the app and try again.  Normally the 2nd or 3rd time it slowly populates the screen . Didn’t have this problem with the previous version of the app.  Re above, it’s a bit faster populating  on my Iphone 12 Pro Max.. I have access points all on Wifi 6e..

In Sonos, the spotify app is using another spotify user within my spotify-family account. Cant seem to change to my user anywhere? The actual spotify app is logged in with my user so that seem right. Any ideas how to solve?

Set Sonos Port to fixed volume on new app....

Hi I have added 2 more Sonos ports to an existing system that had another Sonos Port configured previously prior the new app redesign. The original Port was set to a fixed volume output using the old app around 6 months ago as it is connected to an audio matrix and 8 zone amplifier for multiroom music. Now having added 2 more Ports I cannot find the option to set the output to fixed anywhere in the new app settings but they need to be as the amplifier is handling volume control. How do you do this now? Is this new app that badly designed it is actually missing key settings controls like this???

After the last software upgrade :it run normally for a récent sonos move 0n a lan with the library on a usb key attached to router ax55 tplink. but it not possible to update a play list Sonos with the iOS phone !!!it is impossible to run with a old Sonos play 3 connected with the library on a key attached to netgear wndr 4300 !!!why !!

HiMy Sonos system/app isn't working properly. Previous version and latest has the same problem. Dont find a system, doesn't start (freeze) and has a long delay  on volyme and play/pause.Any one who knows what to do? I have a Android xiaomi mi 10 6gb ram. Regards Johan

New sonos app

Since updating automatically to the new sonos app, we've had issues. The app takes ages to establish a connection with the sonos speakers, sometimes it won't allow them to be turned on or off, the volume is all over the place. It's very slow and sometimes non responsive. We've done the full  router and speaker reboot, changed wireless channels and still the same. Hopefully there will be an app update fix soon to rectify the problems created on what was a perfectly good and easy to use sonos app. In this case, unfortunately, trying to improve it has made it into something I dread using. Now considering changing to a new speaker set up, but not sonos......shame, as I did like them pre new app!

Still no official response from Sonos on the App debacle.

Here, reddit, the appstore are all stuffed with complaints and 1 star reviews, yet Sonos haven't put out any response other than how courageous they are?This CEO needs to walk the plank, if not most of the senior management. It is unacceptable for a company of this size to act in such an inept and contemptuous manner.

Has Sonos abandoned Apple Users

So I have a play 5 and a Sonos sub woofer and my music is the Sonos Music Library which somehow comes from songs stored in my MacBook Air (2023).  Suddenly I am denied to play my music.  What has Sonos done?  Just out of the blue.   What if I were having to entertain using my device.  So I call Sonos support (1 hour wait) and a polite tech does what he believes will fix the problem.  I feel relieved.  Music indexing complete - music denied.  Second call (almost 1.5 hours).  He reads the ticket info and tries to resolve.  Finally he says something about Sonos is not supported by SMB1 (which I guess is a language or something in my MacBook Air.   Sonos drops it because it’s unsecured.  You now need version 2 or 3.  Sonos can do this with Windows and help those customers - Apple customers - sorry - too bad so sad.   I phone Apple - what we don’t look after 3rd party technology.  Two big companies with lots of income and no help - they simply abandon you.   I try a third route.  Geek Squad

Why are there 1000s of negative posts?

There are 1000s of negative posts covering the introduction of the new S2 app on 7 May.  Many report significant problems and issues following the upgrade.  Many are expressed in angry tones.  Many simply express disbelief over the changes.  Many request help, but seldom receive a response. Many threaten to abandon their existing devices, others have already done so. I believe the main reason for this unprecedented negative response lies mainly in the fact that official responses to these posts can probably be counted on the fingers of 2 hands, if that.All this was compounded by company statements that there were no problems being experienced by users and the march to a brighter future would continue unabated. As a consequence, 100s have been left spinning in the wind wondering just what the hell was going on. Seldom, if ever, over decades of involvement in the varied world of information technology, have I encountered such an Alice in Wonderland phenomenon where each side appears to i

Now nothing is working

It’s now been 2 weeks since i contacted customer support about the new IOS version of the app. That took 2 hours and was not resolved. The app does not allow me to connect to my streaming service and does not have my saved playlists. Since then, no word of an update. I have been forced into using the web version on my laptop since, which is slow and lacks the features and functions that i’m used to. Today even that has stopped working. And all the while i still receive emails from sonos shouting about their new products and deals. I bought a play 5 about 2 years before they decided it was obsolete and i couldn’t use it alongside my play 1s so basically turning it into a very expensive brick. Now i seem to be stuck with several more bricks. There isn’t a product they could offer that would make me by anything else from them. Good luck to all the poor sods who haven’t yet had the pleasure of having to deal with a company that cares nothing about customers.
