Music Library

Since May, there have been lot of problems with the new app. Meanwhile, it seemed that things were moving for the better at last.

But with the latest update of July 30, 2024, again a new problem has arisen for me.

Now it is almost impossible to select "Folders" in the Music Library view of my iPhone app. Since "Folders" is on the last line in this view and the Search window is right below it, when you select a “Folders”, "Search Music Library" opens instead.

Would it be possible to leave an empty line between "Folders" and "Search Music Library" so that the finger does not accidentally touch the Search button below it?

Another option would be to make the order of the buttons in the Music Library view user-changeable, so that "Folders" can be moved up from the last row, if desired?

Hi @Gunnar13

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thanks for reporting this - we’ve been able to replicate the issue in our own testing and are now investigating. I’ll update this thread once a fix is in place, but there’s no estimation for when that might be.

My library was locked out in the June update, then after wasting 5 days of my life beginning with 90 minutes on w Sonos' help desk (no progress) then with excellent online help I was back up. Against my better judgement, I installed the late June/August update which instantly set me back to time zero. I know this is oversimplified, but one would think that would serve as clue to the rocket scientists over at Sonos pointing to the culprit code in the update which is making music libraries invisible.

Love Sonos but running out of patience. (somebody please help them or create a competitor system that actually works)

Joe

Just to mention, in case its installation helps with your issue, the latest app update was 6th August (80.06.03 on iOS).

If you’re still not able to reach Folders, try reducing “Text Size” and/or “Display Zoom” in your iOS settings (under “Display & Brightness”). That should make the folders accessible again, even if it's a temporary work-around.

Thanks for your reply, Rhonny.

But reducing the text on the iPhone doesn't help. For smaller text, I can now see the top option "Artist" without scrolling (before I had to scroll for that), but the last option "Folders" is still on the edge under the "Search" button. The Sonos team needs to fix this issue with their next update.

Indeed. Okay, it was worth a try! (What iPhone model is this, just in case it helps Sonos to identify which displays this might be an issue for - and it might also stimulate someone with the same model to confirm if they are seeing the same thing too.)
