Controllers and Music services

The new design is not user-friendly:To play a radio station, I have to 1) click on Sonos Favorites, 2) click on Stations: View All (pointless), 3) scroll through a bunch of large unalphabetized images to find my station (hassle), 4) click on my station, 5) (and then the kicker) still have to click on Play! I should be able to just 1) click on a tab or Sonos Favorites and get an alphabetized view of the small icons (so one small scroll will show all of them), and 2) click on the station to make it play -- DONE. The info for the station should be a 3rd click. It makes no sense station info would take priority over play and cause an extra click EVERY TIME you play the station. All of this makes it incredibly labor intensive to flip through stations. Recently Added for Favorites should be something I can turn off, minimize, or move out of sight. I have it on the Home page already, and yet it’s right on top of all my stations every time? I should be able to just stay on my Sonos Favorites p

This morning my app is not seeing any components.  The app looks weird. I rebooted my android but it didn’t help. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it didn’t help. I never have trouble using my system.  I added my pair of playone speakers with the app via Bluetooth but they indicate “not connected”.   I am out of things to try.

Am I missing something here or is it impossible to click on a song while browsing an Amazon playlist to immediately have it start playing?  If so, how did this simple feature get overlooked. Like seriously? You have a system you need to control using an app, your app should work flawlessly. Seriously get a new app team cause your current team sucks. 

I cannot seem to connect to Apple Music. 

the app says: Unfortunately, a connection is not possible. Please try again later.when trying to add a speaker to an other group of speaker; all play together for years now;never had these problems in the old app; seems to be a step back … ?

Hi I moved homes and set up (a subset of) my Sonos devices again as a new system.  When I left my previous place I hadn’t disconnected the app / passed on ownership of previous system etc. ie had just packed the hardware and turned up at new place to install.The products are all working fine but my previously connected music services (Spotify and Apple Music) have disappeared from the app. They don’t appear in the app or in the search function. I am on iOS.  I have tried the following alreadyReset app delete and reinstall app install app on different phone  try the mac app shut of system + router and restart add a new service (thought old ones might just reappear)I am on the latest app / OS. Any one else have a similar issue ? 

After the horrendous recent update, which completely lost my local music library, I checked the Sonos update page (https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/the-new-sonos-app-and-future-feature-updates), and among the supposed (Allegedly)features available as of May 21 2024, it listed “Improved Local Music Library playback of foldersConsidering that I couldn't access my library at all,  I wondered what possible improvement there was, so I had an online chat with tech support. They seemed as though they had never heard of anyone having this problem, which was amazing to me as it is all over the forums and on the Internet, so I'm not alone. sub mini will not register and also will not show on my system page, HELP!! i am thinking of taking it back to the store, i have spent so much time on this , i have a beam gen 2 as well.I expected a lot better from such expensive items.

When will Sonos either: retract this last release and restore to the last version that worked or Fix ALL the bugs and problems?I have never in the last 25 years seen such a complete mess rolled out to customers. This new app doesn’t work as well as the very first release Complete garbage.

Are there any further updates on timelines for fixing things that still don’t work in the crappy/wonderful (delete as appropriate) app we’re lumbered with using?Off the top of my head- volume control is still a nightmare and how it works seems to vary depending on screen you’re on- nothing plays from recently played (especially radio stations) - BBC sounds still has very little information about episodes and their played status. Getting sick of having to use the BBC sounds app first to check- linking zones when they are playing “unable to connect”    It’s pointless to say (as no-one cares) but this app update has ruined my Sonos and music/radio experience. Still so disappointed.  Would also like a reply to my web player query. 2FA at least / ability to disable? But lo, there’s some wind …

After updating to the new Sonos app on Android (replacing the Sonos S2 App), I noticed that several of my Sonos Favorites are greyed out and cannot be selected.I suspect that some of them were radio stations from the old TuneIn service - which doesn't appear in the new Sonos app anymore.So, how do I remove those old favorites now?Typically, I'd have to find the item under the specific service and "un-favorite" the item there, correct? (E.g. search for the radio station in the old TuneIn service and deselect it there... But since the service isn't available anymore, I can't.)

Is anyone having issues with playing ANYTHING on any sonos product? Mine won't even play the radio stations today.

How do I go about playing music that I have downloaded on my phone?

After the IT outage yesterday just one of my connected speakers won’t work. I know it’s functional because I re-tuned it and sound was successfully emitting. How do I get my speaker to play again?

Just updated to S2. Now I cannot access my Music Library located on an external HD that is connected to the router via USB anymore. The albums still shown under favorites cannot be found anymore (no longer available) and I can not find the menu for the music library setup anymore to refresh or do anything. Clicking on System Settings and then Manage next to my system name does not bring up the menu point neither in the sub menus. Did Sonos eliminate the possiblity of playing songs from music libraries on external discs or NAS or what am I doing wrong?

I want to downgrade my Sonos system to S1: it simply works better than the ‘improved’ S2 and has features I regularly use that are still absent from S2.All of my devices except an Era 300 are S1 compatible.I started with my Move (v1), performed a factory reset, and tried to use the S1 iOS app (v11.14) to add the Move to an existing S1 system … and get taken to this Sonos web page.Why, Sonos? Just Why?Anyone know any workarounds?  

Hi there! After updating the Sonos app, I have problems to play Spotify lists simultaneously in different speakers (Sonos play 1 and play 3). The app does not allow me grouping different speakers at playing, it says that it is not possible, try later. Is it a common problem? Do you know how to solve it? Hello.I have downloaded the new app, but can't find where speaker balance settings.  This used to to be under the EQ settings, under setting.  There is base, treble, loud but no balance.  Do you know where it is?

Feature request (which was present on previous app) to add a song to a Deezer playlist from the Sonos app.Also to search the Alblum of song that is playing on deezer through the Sonos app.

Why have Sonos removed the sleep timer function in the new App . This makes my speaker useless to me.    Waiting for a response from Sonos but if nothing forthcoming I will have to ditch it and change brands as I use it all the time.  if you’re having the same issues please email Sonos as well, the more that do should hopefully make them take some action !! 

Since I reinstalled the Sonos app, it takes 40 seconds to launch every time. That is ridiculous and makes the system useless. How will you solve this? I see same topics here of years ago of people who have the same issue. I invested a lot in Sonos products but this way I dont want to use it any longer. My network, router etc are all fine. It all worked fine untill I installed your new version. Same happened to other people I know who use Sonos. 

This has happened a few times.  I go to tap the STOP button on the app and the music does not stop.  I even turn my phone off and turn it back on, music still plays.  Today I left the house for 4 hours, came home, and the music was STILL playing. The last time, I unplugged my wifi and power, and that also did not work.  Also unplugged the speakers, didn’t work.  This is super annoying.  Has anyone else had this issue?  I am using the Arc and the Five speakers.  

I held off moving from the S1 (old) app for as long as I could. I had a Connect, Bridge, Play 3, and 3x Play1s. I got an AMP to replace the Connect+Bridge and understood from my research on Sonos.com that the 2013 Play3 and 2017 Play1s would come across to the new (S2) Sonos app fine. Got the AMP, upgraded the app from S1 to S2, got the AMP connected. Then the trouble started. The Play1s and the Play3s would NOT move over to the new app. I’ve literally spent 6 hours doing the connect / upgrade cycle for the Play1s. The Play3 (for better or worse) fails faster - it won’t play the connect sounds, the app won’t recognize button pushes, so I can’t even get to the upgrade part of the cycle. Sonos chat has been not helpful, despite a chat of 2 hours. They told me to call Support. I called - 60+minute wait time.Sonos chat could not even have Sonos call me - said their systems aren’t connected. I am insanely frustrated at this point - anyone have any ideas of how I can get these older speakers

This is a measure of the quality of the signal strength between the product and router and is expressed in decibels. A higher value represents a stronger signal. As a general guideline, a SNR of 45 dB and above is considered excellent, while a SNR of 25 dB or below is considered weak.How to you observe or manage SNR on new app?Instructions please. 

 Setup: 1 Beam connected to TV via HDMI, and 4-ONE-SL’s.Issue: I have an alarm setup to start at 10:00 AM for 11 hours, and my timezone is set properly to Central US.
