Controllers and Music services

Hi, I have a PLAY:5 Gen1 which is now discontinued and just disappeared in my app as a device. I presume this is because it is now fully not supported. However, I use it only for it’s line-in capability with a record player. Does anyone know if there is a way to get it to continue being used as a line-in speaker if there is no way to get to it from the app? Thanks

The output tab in sound preferences won't let me choose sonos speakers even though they're on the list of available of airplay devices. the stereo pair I’ve set up is listed as the room I’ve labeled them, as well as my appletv, but when I select that name, it says ‘the selected device has no output controls’, and reverts back to the previous output. is it because i’m still using catalina?

I set up the remote using the optical setting and set it up in the app.  The remote works fine when I’m watching TV...if I start playing music through the app on my phone, the remote will only work for a short time after the TV is shut off….after that the only way to control the volume on my system is through the app on my phone.  It’s almost like the TV remote system goes to sleep after the TV is shut down.  Thoughts?

Why won't it connect? Works fine on the xm app but not through sonos? I've noticed sonos is pushing their radio could that be the reason to shut down my xm service? So frustrating and i complain but no one can figure it out all of those engineers from MIT and nothing huge disappointment 😒

My Spotify is alphabetical in the Spotify app. Why isn’t it alphabetical in Sonos? Better yet, why can’t the songos app let me alphabetize things? 

Hi! I don’t have the true play option in my set up anymore and I have a plus sign and a question mark beside the room name too. Any ideas? I have an Arc and the wireless sub. 

Hi I had to update my WD My Cloud to OS 5 and in doing so I lost connection to my library. I am running sonos on S1 as I have a Play:5 and bridge that don't support S2. Once updated the WD My Cloud, the link to my music library needed to be updated. I have tried to do this via the conversational NAS drive connection that we had before and the My Cloud Home Service setting, neither work. Nas drive gives me a error 900, where I've followed instructions to adapt the bite rate to 24 and 26 and I still get the issue. When I go through the My Cloud Home Service I can see the directories but no music files. Please can you advise, I feel like I'm going around in circles. Very frustrating..!  

Just a quick ask if anyone has discovered or heard anything regarding the 12/8/20 update besides the traditional performance updates, and other such etc...

If I did my job as badly as your app developers, I’d be sacked that same day. Utter useless rubbish, wasting my time 5 times a day. I can’t believe the incompetence.

HiI have an iPad Air 2 running on 14.2 which cannot find Sonos. Both my iPhone and windows laptop can.I have removed the WiFi and added it back. Still nothing.Any ideas?

This question has been around for several years and does not appear to have been resolved. I discovered it last night with 3 of my albums named Maiden Voyage.  A search for the by album name brings up  one listing with all 3 albums’ tracks.  If I search by artist, yes then only one of the albums appears. Sonos it is time to address this issue.

I’ve been using this app for quite some time across several Sonos devices and yesterday the app when opened was empty of content and displaying a message “unable to browse music”. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it but the problem remains. What is the problem and who owns it - Sonos or radio.net?     

I am confused about how to stream audio from my MacBook Pro to my new Sonos Arc.any advice?

Hi I have old Play:5 (Gen 1) and Play:3 speakers and use S1 Controller on a Windows laptop. My Controller suddenly won’t open other than on a page which requires an upgrade to S2 Controller.  Unfortunately I clicked on the upgrade button and believe my speakers have now upgraded to OS2 and won’t work.  I uninstalled the S2 Controller and reinstalled S1 but no joy.  Any ideas?  Or is this just a way of making me upgrade to the new generation products?

Amazon Music has the function to “start station” based on a song, artist, or playlist. Is it possible to use this feature on Sonos? I am on Sonos S1. Thanks. 

Since upgrading to the S2 controller and (I think) corresponding software in my Sonos system (two Play:1 and one Play:3), the controller keeps losing connection around once per day. The error message is: Unable to connect to Sonos. Learn more.When switching the speakers on manually, they still work and play the last selected station or playlist, so they are still connected to the Wifi. Only the controller seems to get stuck.After switching the router off and on again, everything works fine again.

I know Sonos only pander to us minority users that still play out own collections from NAS or Samba but would it not be possible to continue where the queue left off when changing briefly to a Radio Station? Instead it resets the queue back to the first track every time.

All of a sudden the play button and mix button are not there anymore on play lists selected from recently played.What can I do to fix it?

Think I’ve changed to Sonos 1 app and had to set up again as nothing working .now have nothing to play ! no playlists no radio , no nothing 

Hello, I just did a Beam update and now my Samsung TV remote isn’t able to control the volume, which was working fine before.I resent the Beam, as well as my TV and it still doesn’t work.I called Samsung to double check my audio settings and everything was fine there.Any ideas?Thank you,Aryn

I’m on S1. I have gen 1 Play 5s. I don’t want to lose them.This morning, the Sonos app on my iphone is prompting me to update with “System Update Available”. Should I accept it? Is it just an update for S1 or do I risk going to S2 and messing everything up?Thanks

I have a Yamaha receiver for my great room surround sound in all speakers.  The receiver has a “zone 2” which I will be hooking up a speaker selector to run 3 other sets of speakers around the house. Do I only need a Sonos PORT  or can I use a port hooked up to my receiver and speaker selector for speakers on “zone 2”?  

every time I search for a radio station and click on “stations” to refine the search, the app crashes.  I’ve cleared the cache, I’ve re-installed the app and it hasn’t resolved it.I’m using the S1 app, a Samsung note 10.

Hi all.Just wondering if anyone else has experienced problems having gone from Google play music to You tube premium. Our CR200 worked fine for Google but doesn’t find anything on You tube at all. Our fairly old iPad (version 4 I think) seems to find it without any problems. We are using all old components and control system. So if You tube is no longer an option do you know if Spotify premium still works on the CR200. It’s still by far the most intuitive and user friendly controller available. Thanks.

I have two Connects on the S1 App. I bought a One SL as I was told it could be run on the S1 App also. However, I couldn’t get past the “Press Play/Volume Up button” instruction on the Set Up - as it identified a Play One and not a One SL. I gave up and downloaded the S2 App just for the new One SL. So now I have the S1 App running the two old Connects and the S2 App just for the new One SL. How on earth can I get the One SL onto the S1 App ?
