Hi,Looking for some advice about connecting a turntable (with pre-amp built in) to my Sonos system. I have Arc, a Sub and 2 x Sonance in ceiling speakers connected to my Sonos Amp to create surround sound system. All works great. But I want to add in a turntable and tried to do this via the Amp but apparently you cannot use the Amp for both the surround sound and the turntable (which is annoying!)Anyone got any suggestions as to the best way to integrate the turntable into the system? Do I need to buy a second Amp or Port to connect the turntable to?If anyone can help I would be grateful! Thanks
Father in law gave me a nice vintage turntable so I ordered the Sonos Amp and received it with much excitement. B&W speakers are on the way but for now I don't have passive speakers which made trouble-shooting interesting... TT and phono stage to line-in on the Amp streaming to my Arc and one SLs in the other room and... uuuggh... a quiet, harsh, tinny sound with ZERO bass.So... after hours of fooling around I'm still at square one. In a nutshell this is what I've done:-Tested the turntable (phono stage has a separate headphone jack... sounds great)-Used other line-in sources to the Amp... my phone, cd player... all sound great.-I even hooked up an audio interface to the turntable and then to my Amp. It has a line-out so I was sure I was getting a line level signal. This also sounded great. There's obviously some ADC going on in there and this solved the issue... not sure how?As soon as I put the exact same same line-out from the phono stage back into my Amp directly I get the quie
Hello, I would like to connect the speakers of my Denon AVR home cinema system to my Sonos system via a Sonos Connect. When I connect my Sonos Connect to my amp, in analog, I can't get my speakers to work. Do you know what the ideal connection is?Many thanks in advance!
Before I connected the 2nd set of speakers it seems like there was more sound coming from the 1st set I had connected. Why is the sound reduced when I have 2 sets connected vs. when I just had 1 set connected.
I’ve recently had NBN FTTP installed and this included at Netcomm NF20 router. The system is working fine with TV, air conditioning and computers all successfully connecting. However, I cannot connect any of my Sonos units to the network. I have a play base, two Sonos One, a roam and a Symphonisk.I have turned of the 5ghz channel on the router and also 802.11n but still no luck. Can someone help me please?
I have a whole-home topology that has been working for 4+ years, nothing has recently changed in my setup. Within the last 2 weeks, a new problem has come up. It is highly repeatable and I am wondering if others have seen it, or have a solution. The issue is that the ‘first component’ in a group, if it is a Connect:Amp, will frequently drop out (and then start playing again in ~10 seconds). The remaining components in the group will play continuously without any dropouts. Here is a summary of my situation:Approx 12 components: 6 Connect:Amps, then the rest are various Speakers such as Play 1s, Play 5s, Soundbars. All components are hardwired Running S2 This issue only happens on Connect:Amps, and only when they are the ‘first’ in the list of a group of components. If I regroup things and change to a different Connect:Amp as the first, then the original one is fine, and the new-first-one will start to drop out. Happens at least every 10 minutes. Nothing drops out if I make one
Hi, I’m trying to use my gen 1 Play 1’s with a recenyly purchased Arc soundbar. Using the S2 app, it sees the play 1’s but says the bridge is incompatable. Can I use the Arc as the bridge and get rid of the incompatable bridge? If that makes sense? Thanks
Hi and thanks in advance! Currently buidling a home and have loved my Sonos 1 but want to have the in ceiling sets in the new home. I’ve read about how the amps work and have read multiple threads and still not exactly sure what my best option is. I want to have a set in my living room, another set in dining room and another set in my kitchen. Do I need a seperate amp for each location? Very rarely will I want to play all locations at the same time. Ive read you can only control the volume for all of them but can you pick a certain set that are playing and another set that is off/muted? Or do I need to just purchase 3 amps? I read some articles that talked about using the Monorprice but that is over my head a lilhttps://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13727 Thanks in advance!
Hello,I have my Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB turntable (purchased through SONOS) connected to my Port. I am trying to listen remotely through my Five in an adjacent part of the room. The volume is really low even when turned up all the way on my Five and the sound quality is poor as far as dynamic range. I thought the Port would act as an amplifier. Was I incorrect? Any suggestions? Thank you!
Hi! Can anyone tell me the distance in inches from the front feet to the back feet for the Pro-Ject T1 SB Turntable?I just ordered one yesterday and I’m now looking for a bookcase to put it on. All of the bookcases I have found that I like are slightly smaller in depth than the overall depth of the turntable. I don’t mind a bit of overhang so long as the feet are solid. The bookcase I like the best, for example, is 11.75” deep. I am hoping the feet of the turntable will fit on it. Thank you.
Hello Everyone, I am new to the Sonos family, having just purchased a house with a built-in Sonos system (amp + 5 ceiling speakers throughout the house). We also purchased a Sonos Arc and Beam 2. I have the system up and running, meaning that I can listen to music. However, I am having trouble identifying and isolating the built-in ceiling speakers by room. When I try to identify the architectural speakers using the S2 App, I hear the high pitched sound coming from the speaker, but then the App says that "No Sonos Architectural speakers detected". What am I doing wrong here? I have tried the older App (S1), but it says that all of my components are up-to-date and compatible with the new App. Surely, I am missing something. I just want to be able to control the volume by room (we have one in a bathroom, and it is super loud because I can't control it individually). I should note that I can isolate the Sonos Arc, Beam 2 and the main system Amp, so I can control those individually, just n
We have a large open living/kitchen area in our current new construction and I’m having a hard time figuring out what speakers I need and where they should be placed. The room is 29ft L x 25ft W x 32ft H
To my delight i have been able to play my cds through an era 100 using the sojos line in adaptor and two rca plus into the aux out jacks on my cd player. So far so good. My denon dp 200 turntable previously played by connecting to the aux in jacks on the cd (denon m35) and then through the passive speakers. But now the old denon speakers have gone i'd hoped the turntable would also play through era, again using aux in for turntable and aux out to connect w era. However this does not work (tho i am told dp200 has built in pre amp). There seems no other way to connect dp200 to era's line in. I am outof my depth and maybe not mqking sense. But of course grateful for any suggestions...
Hi Guys,I have conntected my Epson Projector to my mixer via audio out 3.5mm from my project to phono (red and white) 6.5mm on one of my mixer channels. I can see the sound going into my mixer when I play something on the TV so I know the sound is definitely working. I think plug a red and white phono jack from the out put of the mixer to the RCA input of the Sonos AMP. On the sonos app I select line in. There is a setting which says Stero/Mono. I am not sure which one to select for it to work. I have it on Stero but there is no sound coming through. Thanks for any help you can provide!
Hi, I have a turntable that I’m trying to connect to 2 Sonos Era 300 speakers and a Sonos Sub. One way to connect is use a RCA to 3.5 cable with direct connection using the Sonos in-line adapter to one of the Era 300 and stream to other Era 300 and sub.The 2nd method would be to use a Sonos port to connect the turntable and and then stream to Sonos speakers. The question is which will give the best vinyl sound quality? Using the port connection or direct rca and line-in method? Pls let me know. Thank You.
When I connect the power to my Sonos Amp, the white light comes on for a split second and then goes off and will not come back on. I have tried to carry out a reset but it does not respond. Can anyone help?
Hello, I am trying to understand if I can use 1 Sonos Amp to setup a pair of Sonance in ceiling speakers for surround sound and another pair to use outdoors to play music?
What I am writing here is not a question but simply an observation, and written with the hope that Sonos will take note.I use my Port with the variable analogue output, these are connected to a power amplifier, therefore I use the Ports equalizer and loudness function.(There are probably not many people who use their Port this way.)But after the update to version 15.4, my Port's sound signature has been changed again - again. The sound lacks warmth and musicality and it is very voice oriented and clinical sounding. That is, a sound image that you want to aim for with a soundbar that plays together with a subwoofer and not from a product like Port. And e.g. the bass control now only adjusts the very lowest bass, before it worked higher up in the bass frequency range. The loudness function has also changed. At the same time, it seems that the DSP is programmed to give more attack in the midrange sound. My experience is that Port's sound changes almost every time a new software update is rele
I just got a Sonos AMP too that I could hook up analog Bang and Olufsen speakers to my digital Sonos app and enjoy those speakers in a music room/ den in my house. The AMP came without the blue sticker on the bottom so Chat person helped me find the 8 digit code to be able to hook the AMP to my system, but once I put in the code, it is not adding to my system. When I read up on it, it says that if someone has put connected to a Wi-FI system, router internet, then that AMP has to be reset to factory reset. I am worried Sonos send me an AMP sent back to them and that is why there was no sticker on the bottom and I am having trouble connecting the AMP to my system. Can AMP be connect to digital speakers the way the drawings suggest? Do you think I am right about this AMP being sent back to Sonos and then them sending it as a new AMP to me??
Hola tengo una consulta, el Sonos Amp tiene formato Flac y Alac es compatible?
Hello all, I just bought a Sony turntable with phono preamp to play vinyl on. I currently have the Amp, Sub, Arc, and two Sonos architectural built in speakers. The whole Sonos system is set up in my family room like surround sound. When I connect the turntable to the Amp, the app does not give me the option for Browse> Line-In. Does that mean that I would have to disconnect my surround sound system from the Amp in order for it to play the turntable? I would love to leave everything connected and just be able to play my turntable over the whole system. Is that possible?
I’m wiring 5 Amps into a new construction home that does not currently have wifi, but the amp will be hardwired to the speakers. Can I set-up the Amp via bluetooth, or do I need to have wifi? In a pinch I can connect to an iphone hotspot.
I’ve seen this thread a few times but I still haven’t found an answer. I have a Technics turntable into a Cambridge Solo Preamp into the Line-in on my Sonos Amp. Originally I had a cheap Pyle preamp and everything work fine until one day I started getting distortion so I upgraded my preamp to the Cambridge. Distortion is still there. I even ordered new RCA cables to see if that will fix it but I’m not convinced that’s the issue. Any thoughts?
I am trying to use the Sonos Port with my Autonomic multi zone amp. I know of no issues with speaker connections as the previous system worked ok. Is there any compatibility issues with mirage and Sonos?
I’m working on connecting two speakers in the master bath of a home I’m building (Klipsh CDT-3650-C II in-ceiling speakers, 8 ohm) to a Sonos Amp, and I’m unsure how to connect the wiring to the amp. When the wiring was put in place, both speakers were wired in mono (12 gauge CL2, in wall speaker wire). This means that I only have (1x) red lead and (1x) black lead for both speakers in my control cabinet, and I’m unsure how to wire it into the amp. Do I connect them to the L input via the banana plugs, and then select the “Dual Mono” setting in the Sonos App? Any advice would be appreciated, A/V is not my strong suit. Thank you!
