I’ve got a play 5 that has recently been exhibiting problems connecting to Tunein or Sonos Radio. I have a both a bridge and a boost and after reading the forum here, thought I would start my troubleshooting by taking wireless out of the equation and so I plugged the Play5 directly into the switch and powered the Boost and Bridge off. I can get to the Play5 with the Desktop or Mobile apps, and can make station selections, but can not get them to play; I get a “connecting” message and then the app gives up. I can play Tunein on my local desktop in a browser with no issues, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Also I can adjust the volume controls on top of the Play5 and that is immediately reflected on the volume slider in the app, so the Play5 is communicating with the app. Suggestions? Also, I tried to follow the instructions to remove a Sonos Bridge, but there is no “Bridge Removal” in the Tools section per the instructions. Have six play ones and a Sonos connect (v1). Inadvertently installed S2, no NOTHING works. Spent >1hour on phone with support. Everything has been rebooted, reinstalled, factory reset…...nothing works. This is a PR nightmare for SONOS….as it should be. I have recommended SONOS for years, but now I will tell folks to run screaming. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m pretty sure I have tried everything mentioned on the boards, Sonos troubleshooting articles, and customer support.IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A SONOS SYSTEM. PLEASE STAY AWAY UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED!!
Explanation: I own 2 Roam units. I have paired them and received sound from both. I placed a small dot of red nail polish on the bottom of one, named it “Roam Red”. Left the other one without a dot, called it “Roam Black”. I have used both units independently, and each one produced sound. The problem occurs when I try to put different output to each Roam speaker. Lets say I start an audio book on the “Roam Red”, it will commence and I will hear the selected content. Now, assume that I also want to play music, if I attempt to start something on the “Roam Black”, without pairing, the “Roam Red” will stop playing. As soon as the music starts to play, the audio book will stop (Roam Red goes silent). If I try to restart the book, it will play, but then the music stops (Roam Black goes silent). I don’t understand why this occurs. Each Roam speaker is assigned its own room, so when not actually paired, either one, or both, should be able to operate independently, and should not aff
For the last month my Spotifiy alarm hasn't been working, and I've been waking up to that dreadful Sonos Chime. I have deleted and re-created the alarm numerous times, re-set my internet, re-set my Sonos, re-connected Spotify, and it still starts with the Sonos Chime. I know it is not an Internet connection issue, because once it goes off I immediately turn on the Spotify playlist while I'm half-awake. Any ideas on how to fix? I'm using the S1 app for a gen 1 Play:5
Until recently, I used CONNECT:AMP to listen to music on my speakers connected to my receiver. I liked that the receiver would POWER ON whenever I selected music to play either through the Sonos app or the Amazon app. I had to update to PORT. Now the receiver doesn’t respond to the apps. I manually turn it on to hear the music through the speakers. Is there a way to remedy this?
Hello, My stereo speakers in my office rarely work. My right one often is recognized and plays, but many times the left speaker does not play with it. One of the speakers fades out probably 60% of the time. Assistance would be appreciated.
I have Sonos CONNECT connected to a new amp, and that in turn connected to my floor standing speakers. When I play a CD thru the Amp and speakers it sounds fine, but when i stream spotify thru CONNECT the bass sounds awful. I have tried turning down Bass and increasing Treble on the Sonos App and this helps a little but not much. When i play Spotify thru my other systems (eg car stereo) it sounds fine.Do you know why my CONNECT is distorting the Bass ?
Hello, I own a sonos 1 and a sonos Play 1 that are synchronised. When this happen I try to stop the music or mute one of the speakers, even reset completly the app but it does not work. The sound just randomly come back on the sonos play 1 for no apparent reasons.what should I do ?thks for your help
Had rega p2 playing through denon amp and 2 bookshelf size speakers but of reasonably good quality. Swapped this for a preamp and Sonos Five and somewhat disappointed. Really seems to have very poor bass or was my old system giving out too much bass that I got used to it. I’m not a bass addict main music rock/indieTurned up the EQ bass to max. Hope someone can help
Hello.I found an annoying little thing when the volume limit is set to any other value than 100%.For example when the volume limit is set to 99% the volume levels 0 and 1 are muted and when the volume limit is set to 30% the volume levels 0,1,2,3 are muted. I’m guessing it is problem with wrong rounding method (rounding down instead of up).I think that expected behaviour is to set 0 to mute and 1 to minimal volume whatever the volume limit is set.I found it when my alarm volume was set to 3 and later I changed the volume limit to 30%. There was no morning alarm next day. ;-( RegardsTomasz
My Sonos move has been working perfectly. Today, while playing music, it just stopped and now the front orange light is flashing and no other power / light will turn on. I have tried leaving it on the charging station and using a USB-C charger, I’ve tried all the reset options of holding the power or connect button for a various number of seconds. Nothing is working. Please help. Thank you Jason
Hi does anyone know why the volume is so low even when the bar is set to halfway up ? I’m not hard of hearing but seems weird that I half to go at least to over half way to get decent sound
Whenever I do (almost) anything to a sonos playlist, I get an. I cannot save the queue to a new playlist or as a replacement of an existing playlist. Sonos always gives me an error (usually “unable to save queue”). Sometimes, in spite of the error, the new or modified playlist will show up only to be missing a hour or two later. This is very frustrating as it is how I save playlists from my own physical library.
I have just had my wifi upgraded and now I cannot connect to my Sonos Play 1 speaker. The app doesn’t even recognise I have one. My speaker is plugged in next to my router with the ethernet cable attached to the router from the speaker. What is going on?
Hi,I’m trying to add a new Sonos One to an exiting system, using the S2 app. After selecting to add a new device and selecting the new Sonos One I get a message saying “Let’s make sure you SONOS App is up to date”. After that I get a message saying “There was a problem verifying your Sonos app. Error code 800”. There are suggestions like “reboot your router” etc, all of which are fine. The phone is connected to the internet, and the app is up to date. Since this message is from the Sonos app itself, I’m not sure why it’s having problems verifying itself.Does anyone know what the 800 error code means (no reference to this on the Sonos site), or what the problem might be?
We have a bridge, a Sonos Play 5, 2 Sonos Play 3 and and a Play 1 My husband upgraded to S2 - not realising he should not and told me that 3 of the rooms had stopped working.I could see that 3 of the components had upgraded to S2 (Excluding Play 5 and Bridge)So I have reset the 3 back to factory settings and I can seem them on the wifi network However, despiite the fact that I can see Bridge and Play 5 from the Sonos controller I cannot add back the 3 reset components Each time I try to do this I am told update needed, then I see update problem I was with support for 3 hours last night and no solution in sight any suggestions on what to do I have not changed my Reuter in any way - although I have restarted it and both the Bridge and Play 5 last night
One of the recent updates introduced an annoying bug so that makes the last song a playlist played from the music library ignore the replaygain tags and thereby bypasses loudness normalization, meaning the last song of an album is way louder than the rest of the album. The issue can be worked around by adding more songs to the playlist, but this is really awkward for album-centric listeners like me.
Diagnostic #1912436882unplugged router and Sono play bar still gives error code that device is unable to play Spotify/Amazon music. Anything showing on diagnostics?
For about a week the Sonos connection to both Amazon Music and Audible as well as Sonos Radio has been very patchy. When streaming an album or audiobook, either: - it refuses to start playing the album altogether and doesn't queue any tracks, or - it plays or fails to play the first track, moves on to the next then will either play or fail to play track 2 and move on to the next, etc... or - it does nothing, circle spins and nothing gets played, "No music selected" As examples, I get these errors:> Unable to play 'name of song' - unable to connect to Amazon Music> Unable to play 'Sonos Radio' - unable to connect to Sonos Radio> unable to add music to the queue> An error occurred while adding tracks (error 701)> ... error 1002> Unable to browse music - there was an problem connecting to Amazon Music> Unable to browse music - there was an problem connecting to Sonos Radio It is annoying when playlists/albums don't play in the correct sequence, but is extremely frustr
This is probably the weirdest issue out there on this community page. Long post.TL;DR: Need to know what firewall rule to edit for Sonos Library service to work. Am too scared to yeet my own connection. So, since about less than a week ago, I recently acquired (hint: sail the high seas) some Free Lossless Audio Codec files of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) OST. Of course, I was interested in hearing the differences between the 320kbps MP3 and the 44.1kHz 16-bit FLAC files I had on my hard disk drive. My laptop and all Sonos devices are connected via several Ethernet cables to the router via a 24-port network switch. It cannot be my router. On my laptop, I first used the Sonos Win controller. I received this error code in the Windows Sonos controller.“Saturday, May 15, 2021 - 1:44 PM Canberra, Melbourne, SydneyUnable to play 'Into the Furnace' - unable to connect to 192.168.0.54:10246.”That local IP address is my laptop (confirmed by accessing router’s device list).Alright, let’s
Recently one of my two Sonos Beam started to not respond to me saying Hey Google. I just started looking into it and when I opened the Sonos app all my speakers are not connected now. Two beams and two Play 1s. At the top of the app it's says Unable to connect to Sonos: Let's fix it But when I click Let's fix it, it says it can't find my 4 devices, and then it searches for the for a few minutes but it doesn't find them. I've power cycled all the Sonos devices and my router. Other device's can connect to my wifi just fine and I haven't changed anything. Wtf is going on?
Hi,I moved my Connect to a different room and now the play/pause button always ends up blinking green. I have verified all the connections, including ethernet. I have reset to factory reset as well. I saw a similar thread here but there was no solution presented. Thanks for your help.
Dear allI ask you to urgently REPAIR the SONOS app to the following topic:I move daily between three places. Everywhere SONOS is in place. The sites are connected with VPN.The SONOS app is always showing the last connected system. So I have three times a day “Ignore actual system”, closing the app and connecting to existing system.Very annoying.I had the same installation before when using the old app (S1). And it worked. Why not showing the system in the actual network instead of one far away? Please!
Hi everyone, since 2 days I experience massive sound issues in my Sonos system. My system looks like described below:2 x Sonos One 1 x Sonos Play:12 x Sonos Ikea Symfonisk ShelfI installed the newest firmware from today and still have these issues.Every few minutes some of my speakers are without music and some of them are still playing the music.
