Had rega p2 playing through denon amp and 2 bookshelf size speakers but of reasonably good quality. Swapped this for a preamp and Sonos Five and somewhat disappointed. Really seems to have very poor bass or was my old system giving out too much bass that I got used to it. I’m not a bass addict main music rock/indieTurned up the EQ bass to max. Hope someone can help

Make sure the line in level on the five is set at 10.

If no joy post the preamp details and the cartridge you are using.

What was the speaker make/model? Are replacements placed exactly where the earlier speakers were? Have you  true play tuned the 5 pair?

To rule out possibilities, if the earlier set up is still at hand - what happens if you play the old system with the new pre amp connected to a line level - not phono- input on the denon?

Line in to 10 has helped I believe it was at 2

will try  others when get chance

thank you all

Good; but then the problem cannot have been muted bass, but muted sound overall. Because line level changes play with the sensitivity of the Sonos unit to signal voltages being received at the line in jack, and that affects sound levels of all frequencies.
